Iamawoman, if you have any concerns about your job there's very good advice on the current ManFriday thread. It's against the law to discriminate against people for legitimate political campaigning.

Ok will book my ticket today...may have to wear a burkha though as work in the nhs and it might not go down well with the lgbt quarters!!!

Do go you'll love it. I went to the one in Hastings recently. All the speakers were fantastic and it's wonderful feeling to be among people who just "get it". Very uplifting experience.
