From a facebook page called Queer: Jodiendo al género binario which I believe translates as Queer: F'ing the Gender Binary.

Good meme posted in the comments though. Useful for here!

I can’t see many men ever wanting to do this, even if it was possible. The risk of tearing up to their ball bag during labour would sending them running for the hills Grin

I think far more likely, would be to pay some poor woman to carry the baby, whilst the man wears a fake bump, complains about his back ache etc for 9 months for the attention, and then, once the labour starts, he has some kind of right to be in the delivery room, and he will later explain to people how traumatic HIS Labour was.

upsiedayz · 25/06/2018 14:56

I'm an occasional lurker over here and don't feel I know enough about feminism to really get involved with the discussions but that Twitter linked article about the fertility 'expert' saying trans women could give birth tomorrow has just left me astounded. As if it would be as simple as shoving in a womb and performing a c section. Sweet Jesus!

Airblon · 25/06/2018 13:38

Greer had it on the nail when she described how Bruce Jenners transition was about attention - he saw his stepdaughters getting attention for being women, and he wanted it.

I used to socialise with someone who was AGP (which I didn’t know about at the time)

He liked to set up casual dates and actively seek casual sex in which he presented himself as a “sissy slut”

Fair enough, each to their own sexual tastes.

But he’d then demand sympathy for being some victim who was “objectified by men”.

What he wanted wasnt sex, but the “attention” that he deluded himself all these teenage girls get.

Same with the “pregnancy” - if these guys weren’t transitioning, they’d be the husbands who’d be jealous of all the nurses and midwives looking after their pregnant wives, or who’d cry and pretend they needed support and cuddles and painkillers when their wives were in the middle of a brutal labour.

Babies would have to be born at 6 months' gestation or the carrier would suffocate from collapsed lungs.

Pratchet · 25/06/2018 12:46

They can't. They hate that so bad.

ScienceIsTruth · 25/06/2018 11:55

@Pratchet, in that article, two sentences stood out: "As for wombs, they're not absolutely necessary. " and "Nor is the womb anything special".

That says it all really. I think they can't deal with the fact that women can do something amazing with their bodies, and men can't.

BeyondFemaleElitist · 25/06/2018 09:41

Ass babies 🤣🤣🤣

ScienceIsTruth · 25/06/2018 09:30

There are so many things wrong with that picture that I don't know where to start!

Deluded, and biologically impossible, bit like the whole movement really!.

FuturePerfect · 20/06/2018 06:28

AGP = willy pointing the wrong way

ISaySteadyOn · 20/06/2018 06:26

JFC, if I were in any doubt about the misogyny of this, I certainly wouldn't be now. This movement's aims are not only to erase us but replace us and that is horrifying.

Pratchet · 20/06/2018 06:14

But it hadn't really hit home that they are suggesting criminalising detransition.

Pratchet · 20/06/2018 06:13

I never took the 'declaration for life' seriously. It's so meaningless. I assumed that penalties for detransition would be minimal and ignored, and eventually dropped. They're only there to try to convince us that it's a meaningful process.

borntobequiet · 20/06/2018 05:53

People are easily convinced by pictorial representations of impossible things. Angels, for instance. Angel wings would be impossible on a human form, and could never sustain flight. In fact they look ridiculous. Yet people accept them, and many believe in angels.

BettyDuMonde · 20/06/2018 05:50

These babies will be IVF babies, right? Because they are only talking womb transplants, no one is thinking there will also be room for some secondhand ovaries/Fallopian tubes etc?

Because someone really should warn them about the risk of multiples with IVF - shitting one baby through a 5ft bowel would be bad enough. Imagine two or three?

thebewilderness · 20/06/2018 05:42

Isn't that part of the argument, Pratchet? They have said that anyone who self IDs will be certain sure about it because there are penalties for detransitioning.
I would prefer that children and adults be able to detransition without punishment.

Pratchet · 20/06/2018 04:43

Bewilderness: that brings it home. Illegal to detransition. .

Here is a related Twitter exchange. From the mid-point, which is self-contained, but scroll back up to the start as well.

Detransitioning would be a violation of the law as I understand the regulations governing transitioning and Self ID. They would be prosecuted for fraud.

KreigersClones · 19/06/2018 23:34

I can see it now, a de-transitioner going to court to get her womb back.

thebewilderness · 19/06/2018 23:31

Seriously though, just where do they think they’re getting all these wombs from That’s all I ever think about when I hear that womb transplants are going to happen. Where are you getting the womb from?

Some of the teen girls who transition are volunteering to donate them.

I feel like I’m the ‘savage’ pulled out of the jungle in brave new world Confused

ChattyLion · 19/06/2018 23:10

Womb transplants for women are still highly experimental. Men’s bodies are just not able to do this, whatever their gender presentation, legal certification etc.

AuntyElle · 19/06/2018 22:25

According to one of the medics in the conversation, as the baby grew, it would break a male pelvis.

Bloody hell, that brings it home.

ErrolTheDragon · 19/06/2018 22:14

According to pratchetts link 'obsession' upthread, some men are thinking about 'abdominal pregnancy', a rare phenomenon in women where the egg implants and develops outside the womb. But it 'kills 10 percent of the women who experience it and 70 percent of their babies.'.
Can't see that getting past an ethics committee.
