3 strikes and you're out

Sorry to start this thread but I'm livid. I'm beyond livid to be fair.

I'm now on strike two and have been warned my posting privilege is at risk.

The reason for this thread is; please don't take the new guidelines at face value. I got a strike today for calling a man who presents as a woman a name NOT on the banned list. Obviously now I can't say what it was, I am effectively gagged.

I now have six weeks of no free speech until the strikes I have are wiped - again effectively gagged.

So, you won't see me much as I will NOT refer to men who present as women as the names we are allowed to call them, so will end up banned. I will post bland banal comments that can't offend any sensibilities here and let rip elsewhere where free speech is encouraged.

PLEASE, please, watch your words or MN will use this as a reason the close the FWR board.

FFS Rufus has raised the bar with a 'bless'.

Y'aint seen nothing yet Rufus! Hun!

spontaneousgiventime · 18/06/2018 21:49

Rufus is a good egg who even if you did get upset with couldn't stay annoyed at for long.

And a big un-MN kiss and hug to Rufus for anyone who thinks I'm being antagonistic.

Rufus is my spirit-guide on these boards, even if Rufus doesn't realise that yet! (PS: Not 2-spirit guide, just a spirit reindeer guide!)

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 18/06/2018 21:47

TerfsUp · 18/06/2018 21:45

To the excellent list put together by pombear, I would add all y'all and alla yiz.

pombear · 18/06/2018 21:41

Yep. I did. So sue me! Delete me! Yawn accidentally crept in there whilst I was trying to defy Rufus's frankly exclusionary definitions of 'you're'. Course it didn't mean 'yawn, ffs'!

Hey, Rufus - try these:

You'se
All you
y'ins (huh?)
yiz (apparently Scottish!)
yous
youz
you-uns
yunz
yuns

ballsballsballs · 18/06/2018 21:41

I got a PM from our erudite visitor.

Apparently I'm a bad person and Karma will get me. How very delightful.

FermatsTheorem · 18/06/2018 21:40

"Yer mam" snort!!!

(And in addition to the illiteracy, it seems our new addition is also disablist. No surprise there. In my experience this sort of plopper seems curiously blind to disablism, sexism, racism, in fact anything that isn't "transphobia".)

spontaneousgiventime · 18/06/2018 21:37

GardenGeek If it wasn't so un mumsnetty I would hug you but I'll fist bump you instead.

(Sorry mogle)

Weezol · 18/06/2018 21:28

There is a thread titled 'Weaponsising The Complaints Process' in Feminist Chat. It really gets to the bottom of the sort of behaviour displayed by persistent, vexatious complainants and brigading. It really opened my eyes and is well worth reading in light of recent events.

spontaneousgiventime. I totally get your point and I respect it.

I feel the same way. But I think we have to also respect HD's extremely difficult position.

It's all very well to be an anonymous poster in a deeply political discussion but it's another thing altogether to be the non anonymous host of that discussion.

I'm furious too. But not with HQ. Let us remember that they are women too and I really believe they are doing their best in impossible circumstances. We can only imagine the pressure they are under.

Solidarity.

pombear · 18/06/2018 21:25

balls (hope you don't mind the name shortening!)

Regardless of the screenshots being available, I think a lot of people have experienced/seen/heard similar. It doesn't sound odd or unusual.

That's why we're here. That's why we're surrounding you and others with love and acceptance of what you experienced. And Flowers to Mogle too - if that's OK. I hated flowers around me when I had my miscarriages, so apologies if they're shit!

Mogleflop · 18/06/2018 21:24

no problem pom

pombear · 18/06/2018 21:21

Thanks Antique. Going to PM you a quick message, if that's OK. Was just a little phased by a PM I got myself after that. Let me know if that's not OK for you. Could do with a gender-critical bit of local support! But it's OK if it's not OK!

(Cos I check, unlike the PM-er!)

ballsballsballs · 18/06/2018 21:20

Mogle 💐

ballsballsballs · 18/06/2018 21:20

Thanks everyone. At the time I was hugely upset and angry. It still makes me think WTF whenever I remember it.

Olive I'm glad you remember the post. The poster had all their posts deleted so there's no evidence.

Mogleflop · 18/06/2018 21:19

(Cough) At the risk of dissing Mumsnet or getting a strike, given how many trolls and PBPs keep signing up here over and over again, I wouldn't worry too much on a lifetime ban...

And yes balls. I was told on another forum to be grateful for the multiple miscarriages I'd had as at least I'd been pregnant and they would never know what that felt like. Many others agreed. I think one person said they didn't but they were shouted down. I've got the screenshots somewhere.
