Time to get the 'L' out!

Facebook just killed another Women's Liberation page (I did not follow it), upon the pressure placed by another page/group called 'Queer Librarian'.

The Women's Liberation Radio News page got targeted because they reported on Baltimore Pride, where a number of lesbians held WL signs. The WLRN page also reported that prior to the event, the Baltimore Transgender Alliance stated "terfs will be hung by their necks". This reporting of BTA by WLRN, incited the Queer Librarian page to gather ranks and report the WLRN page. (You will get the drift by looking at the screengrabs).

Lesbians are no longer welcome at Pride(!) and clearly, anyone that reports what is going on is targeted and banned.

I think it is really sad when people feel they have to suppress their gender identity and they enter into marriages, only to 'come out' a long way down the line causing huge turmoil and upset.

That's not how it happens, because that's not how autogynephilia develops. AGP is the progressive development of a narcissistic fantasy. AGP's don't start off trans but hiding it.

Trans activists who keep denying AGP exist contribute to AGP's staying in hiding.

AngryAttackKittens · 19/06/2018 11:37

There's really no situation in which "A said that B should be hung" should be followed by "yeah but B was a bit rude, so, you know".

LaSqrrl · 19/06/2018 11:32

Woah! But firstly, let's get some ratfucking out the way:
But if you're waving a banner that doesn't directly relate to your LGBT experience, but does directly relate to somebody else's LGBT experience, you might expect that not to go down well when you all get together at the LGBT march.

Lesbians, actual lesbians, are WOMEN, FEMALES. They actually have every right to defend female autonomy in every way. The 'L's were there long before that fucking T was added. And they also have the right to be feminists, being female and all. Cotton Ceiling, remember that? They are more than justified protesting that rapetastic bullshit.

For the rest, focus on... you know, the actual HANGING of women part? This is serious shit, and should not be deflected by Daim's screwed up view of the world.

Thanks for that confirmation screenshot Pencils. I took it on faith that the threat was legit (because past behaviour of these groups, always indicative of future behaviour). Not a lot of difference between wishing women would die in a fire (2012), and wishing them hung (2018). Tried and true witch trial stuff really.

Speaking of the Burning Times. Sure, many thought they were 'good women' that would be safe. Not once it got going. They will eventually come for you too. Remember that.

@SciFiFan2015 I would struggle to be honest, as I am attracted to female bodies. Like @Whatzat298 I love my wife and would want to support her but it would be hard.

I think it is really sad when people feel they have to suppress their gender identity and they enter into marriages, only to 'come out' a long way down the line causing huge turmoil and upset. Someone shared a trans widows thread which shows how much damage it can cause.

When being gay wasn't accepted in society gay people used to suppress it and try and live a lie in straight marriages. It usually comes out in the end with the other partner getting terribly hurt.

If only being transgender was openly accepted by society, nobody would feel they had to suppress it, and all that pain and turmoil could be avoided.

Mary Daly wielded a labrys. A symbol, a pendant, an ear ring. Whereas baseball bats (or the UK equivalent the pickaxe handle), even when painted in pastel colours, are an actual weapon. It's like the difference between words (witty graffiti, arguing on a panel), and a punch in the face. And some people still claiming it is all our own fault for not being polite enough.

SciFiFan2015 - I'm not Daim, but I do ID as gay. For what it's worth, I think I would struggle hugely if my wife wanted to transition. I love her. I'd want to support her. I don't know what it would do to our relationship. I would try and make it work though, because that is what my marriage vows mean.

Re- dating trans women - I have tried it in the past, and it didn't work for me. Since then I've been asked out by a trans woman and said "no, you're lovely but I don't feel the same way" and we stayed friends. No hassle. No big deal. For me, penis doesn't work and so I treat it like smoking, or bad acne or political views that don't mesh with mine - a deal breaker but not one I need to be brutal or mean about. Not sure if it would be different with a post op lady but I hope my marriage won't end and so I don't spend much time speculating on the subject.

Ereshkigal · 18/06/2018 22:16

I should really have put quotes round "heterosexuals" too.

Ereshkigal · 18/06/2018 22:15

The forum data lounge has had a number of posts complaining about the numbers of cervix-havers on hook up apps such as Grindr.

I know gay men who claim it's now also overrun with transgender heterosexuals and "straight" men chasing them. And are seriously pissed off with it.

Ereshkigal · 18/06/2018 22:09

Goodness Daim you do sound a tad defensive trying to defend the indefensible, rather than smug and goady. As pointed out you are doing a great job of undermining your beloved cause.

Oh and I guess you and Rat and others condemn the Transdykes and their artistically celebrated pastel baseball bats and hatred of gender critical lesbian women being on show at Pride then?

SciFiFan2015 · 18/06/2018 22:00

@daimbars would you be happy to stay married and remain sexually attracted to your wife if she transitioned. Including undergoing an SRS?

Or, if something happened and you split up would you be happy to get involved with a transwoman (either with or without having surgery to create a neo-vagina)?

ChickenMe · 18/06/2018 21:37

*One group is saying:

'you are a deluded, mentally ill fetishist intent on sterilising children.'

The other is saying:

'If you come to my party I'll hang you by the neck'

Neither are particularly pleasant.*

Statement two is the only one mentioning physical violence isn't it. We all know who says that sort of thing. You can't even find statements mentioning physical violence from GC feminists can you?
But they're so so easy to find from TRAs. TRAs are desperate and have to resort to threats of violence because no one believes any of their bullshit

De-lurking after about a year of watching these threads progress on this board to say I can't believe any woman could find any way of defending these threats of violence against other women. It's actually quite disturbing to read your justifications daim and in response to your earlier comment to Pencils, rest assured that "everyone" who reads but perhaps doesn't comment on these threads can see exactly who you are and what you stand for.

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 18/06/2018 20:45

The TRAs and GC feminists are as bad as each other.

LIES! Stop peddling bullshit to try to minimize what the thugs on the trans activist side have been getting up to.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 18/06/2018 20:42

Daimbars, when someone shows me who they are, I tend to believe them. And I see you.

There's no excuse for what you said. But the fact that you are unable to advance your arguments without issuing slurs betrays the lack of rigor to your claims.

thebewilderness · 18/06/2018 20:40

4th rule of misogyny: Women's opinions are violence against men thus male violence against women is justified.

SomeDyke · 18/06/2018 20:38

"Homosexual is a sexual orientation, I don't think it should be used to describe behaviour, but then personally I'm sick of people co-opting it when they are bisexual or heterosexual."

Ditto. And actually, once I thought about it, I realized that unless you stick with lesbian relationship as a relationship involving two (or perhaps more) lesbians, then we don't have a word to express that (as opposed, say to a lesbian and a bisexual woman in a relationship). So I think I have changed my opinion............

Because if I'm being totally honest, I've never had a relationship with a bisexual woman, because I'm not. It's different, but we don't have enough words for those of us who aren't heterosexual, not enough words to describe our relationships. And current queer theory hasn't exactly helped with that.

daimbars · 18/06/2018 20:38

Loving your work Pencils. Everyone can see exactly what is making these trans people so upset.

I'll say it again, trans people are hacked off because people are trying to make them feel unwelcome and humiliate them at Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride.

It might be the only day of the year they get to enjoy a safe space without abuse and you want to take it away from them.

PencilsInSpace · 18/06/2018 20:31

I won't be responding to you again daim, here or on other threads. I have nothing left to say to you that would not be deleted (under the old rules, not the new bs rules).

PencilsInSpace · 18/06/2018 20:29

Here's the link again, everyone can read how 'hilariously stupid' those threats of violence against women are.

Nobody's trying to exclude trans people from Pride. Gender critical lesbians and bi women would just like to be able to attend without threats of violence and death.

Laughable, eh? How bloody ridiculous of them.

Carry on.

daimbars · 18/06/2018 20:15

Nope you're doing it all by yourself Pencils. Thanks for sharing that Twitter thread btw - sums up how bloody ridiculous it is to try and exclude trans people from LGBT pride.

I mean, I could understand if it was the WI or Girl Guides but Pride? If it wasn't so hateful it would be laughable.

Time to get the 'L' out!
PencilsInSpace · 18/06/2018 20:13

Have we really reached the point where people are condoning threats of lynching?

'not particularly pleasant'????

Fucking hell.

PencilsInSpace · 18/06/2018 20:07

You are doing our work for us. Please carry on.

Bowlofbabelfish · 18/06/2018 20:07

One of those statements is incitement to lynching daim - it’s a crime in the UK.

Would you repeat that in Charlottesville?
