most people can't see what the fuss is about.

If the above is true then why the (general ) vitriol aimed at xx people?
Why not just dismiss us as loonies and a minority who are simply getting underwear inna twist for no good reason.

Pratchet · 16/06/2018 16:44

Yes Southfields

Southfields · 16/06/2018 16:42

You ARE being heard, Clare. That is why woman after woman on here is responding to you and objecting to your posts: because they are READING them and COMPREHENDING them. That is what "being heard" amounts to!

You (Clare) wrote: "Some people are trans. It is our way of escaping the gendered expectations we perceive on us."

But trans do not escape gendered expectations. The entire trans narrative and ideology rests on gendered expectations -- e.g. "I always knew I was a girl because I didn't like football and preferred to play with dolls."

Feminists want to abolish gendered expectations and gender roles.

JoanSummers · 16/06/2018 16:17

Unsure atm but we can make an educated guess.

Unfortunately the behaviour of some young women who act like rabid cult members on behalf of trans ideology does leave a question mark, however unlikely it would usually be that a woman would do this.

PointlessTV · 16/06/2018 16:13

We are unsure of the gender of the KFC bomb fan, I gather we aren't allowed to discuss the biological sex of ambiguous people.

Kettlepotblackagain · 16/06/2018 16:10

Just to clarify, the He referred to the KFC boy.

SophoclesTheFox · 16/06/2018 16:09

I read the "he" in kettles post to be wrt the dangerous misogynist threatening women with his devices, not directed at Clare, sardine.

HornyTortoise · 16/06/2018 16:08

Yesterday, Sussex Police released a statement that bomb making equipment was found in a house in Hastings.

This means that maybe the tweet was not a threat but a genuine warning that the local TRA are indeed planning a bomb.

Maybe it was when the police questioned the tweeter that they were led to the address? Why else did the police suddenly out of the blue decide to raid a specific house in Hastings?

Thats actually some seriously scary shit. I hope it is taken as seriously as it should be.

SophoclesTheFox · 16/06/2018 16:06

How is it subverting gendered expectations to say that someone can have a female brain and a penis?

Sarahconnor1 · 16/06/2018 16:06

I frame it as nasty man is seeking to cause trouble for trans people

Did I really just read that. Women are threatened (a bomb threat) and you frame it as trans people who are the victims. Fucking hell, I really have no words.

SardineReturns · 16/06/2018 16:05

KettlePot you've misgendered in your last post maybe report to MN gt it removed.

PointlessTV · 16/06/2018 16:04

We are spoiling the fun for the person who enjoys KFC on Twitter are we?

Now back to poor me...me, me, me.

Pratchet · 16/06/2018 16:03

Clare's posts are odd. Yes Sophocles I agree. There's no way Clare will understand that. There's a script and that's that.

Baroquehavoc · 16/06/2018 16:03

After the Mumsnet HQ statement, I thought I would engage

I don't recall the statement saying that we had to minimise male violence?

Kettlepotblackagain · 16/06/2018 15:57

Look, Clare has come along and told us all that he is not a dangerous, misogynistic bastard. He is in fact just a very naughty boy. So we we need to just stop being hysterical and jolly well listen to how this affects Clare.

ClareFlourish · 16/06/2018 15:56

I am not using any "tactics" at all. After the Mumsnet HQ statement, I thought I would engage. After I condemned the tweet, I still heard calls to condemn. Possibly, the "feminism chat" threads are not places where I can be heard.

Most people don't care. I was pleased with the latest The Big Questions programme, because most of the audience were on the trans side; but even after all the propaganda in the Times and the Mail, most people can't see what the fuss is about. If the English consultation had gone ahead when the Scots one did, there would be far less anger around the issue now. It's promised for July, now, they tell me.

Some people are trans. It is our way of escaping the gendered expectations we perceive on us. Making transition more difficult won't help anyone challenge gendered expectations. Making it easier subverts those gendered expectations, and they may fall away.

PointlessTV · 16/06/2018 15:54

If there had been a bomb threat and materials found, and that had been on trans people, politicians would be tripping over each other to condemn it.

SophoclesTheFox · 16/06/2018 15:52

Let me spell it out.

He's unlikely to be trans. It actually doesn't matter a whit.

The point is that his obvious, repellent, violent misogyny leads him to side with transactivists against women speaking.

Do you really not see that?

Your cause attracts misogynists. Why is that?

PointlessTV · 16/06/2018 15:51

Women are mere collateral damage, of course.

Any other group threatened like this, by a bomb, with bomb making equipment found, would be headline news.

I am ignoring me,me,me from now on.

Pratchet · 16/06/2018 15:51

It's amazing how people think what they've said is perfectly reasonable and literally can't understand why it's actually unbelievably shitty.

SophoclesTheFox · 16/06/2018 15:49

Women are mere collateral damage, of course.

The real victims are trans people.

Seriously, clare?

JoanSummers · 16/06/2018 15:46

I frame it as nasty man is seeking to cause trouble for trans people.

What the actual fuck ClareFlourish??

Women are threatened with murder and you frame it as trying to cause trouble for trans people?

Your priorities seriously fucking suck. I have nothing more to say to you, you have shown who you are and you are not worth any more of my time.

R0wantrees · 16/06/2018 15:46

ClareFlourish
Has anyone claimed otherwise?

Perhaps its worth re-reading your initial post on this thread?

SardineReturns · 16/06/2018 15:46

This is from USA tactics isn't it. When someone "on your side" does something you disagree with, you say oh that person is actually a double agent. They are working for the enemy.

Maybe this guy's twitter account is a handle for Julie Bindel or Germaine Greer? Yes that sounds way more likely than it being an angry man who is heeding the calls to take violent action against women who have the temetiry to say no to men.

SophoclesTheFox · 16/06/2018 15:45

Even if he is some random troll, you're missing the point clare.

He (assuming "he") is threatening women who want to get together to talk, which he says is in retaliation for the Man Friday event.

He doesn't want women to shut up about juggling or car maintenance or French literature, does he? He wants women to stop talking about gender and misogyny and the harmful impact of trans activism.

In the context of constant, constant, CONSTANT threats, harrasment, doxings, violence, intimidation and hatred directed towards women by extreme transactivists and misogynists who claim to be protecting your right to "be welcomed into women's spaces"

Also, a note on that. Women not objecting to things that they may perceive to be threatening doesn't mean they're happy about it. They may just simply melt away rather than confront. You know this, right? Absence of complaint can't be read as endorsement.
