I hope uterati comes back. I have seen all the great women today plus lots of new ones.

I'm rolling up my sleeves ready to delurk after a long break.

boatyardblues · 15/06/2018 06:52

I think its important we stay and carry on discussing these issues. There is absolutely nothing stopping us from using MN as a noticeboard for links out to other resources and to signpost other sites/boards where the discussion is not curtailed. If that does become an issue we will at least have given enough pointers for us to regroup elsewhere.

alexpolistigers · 15/06/2018 06:02

Lots of people have left already. I did for a long time, but now I pop in from time to time. I doubt any of you will remember me - I was here in the days of dittany and SGM.

This is one issue that has brought me back, as I believe it is important.

TransplantsArePlants · 15/06/2018 05:58

I'm not going either. I like it here.

LaSqrrl · 15/06/2018 04:40

Your analysis is spot on dolorsit.
We have seen it before, and I guess, we are at the mid-point of it happening here.

I know some of you don't think it is 'game over' yet, but that new statement on moderation makes it very clear to me where this will end up.

Majority of Feminists piss off elsewhere, the "let's be nice to everyone" feminists remain with the goaders.

I'm ashamed to say I'm one of those feminists. But I admire and respect the less politic feminists here. We can't change things if only us cowards remain. Sad please don't all get banned or bugger off.

lonalsland · 15/06/2018 03:16

I'm also a lurker who's spreading the word around me too. Previously I thought trans rights were something to not be too too concerned with ( maybe supportive in a general "it doesn't affect me"kind of way) well........ it's only by having all the issues explained to me here that I've realised the dangers of this, that the knowledge of the various viewpoints and possible ramifications of gender self I'd is not really known by the general public.

Pratchet · 15/06/2018 02:32

When you and babel do the TRA two-step it's a thing of beauty.

It IS silencing but you are still here and still talking, and you make so much sense. You are being specifically targeted for reporting precisely because you are so good at debate and you make so much sense. It's a sign of success. We mustn't lose you.

thebewilderness · 15/06/2018 02:27

You are very kind, Pratchet, and I love you all back, but I gotta say that five deleted comments in one thread feels like silencing to me.

Pratchet · 15/06/2018 02:18

Don't go, you haven't been silenced! We love you.

OP posts:
thebewilderness · 15/06/2018 02:16

I am unsure of what I can do.
I have been silenced, demonized, lied about, and given a strike.
If I am very good and polite to the verbal abusers who come here every day to harass women the mods will let me stay, or so they say.
I find this to be incredibly hurtful. Kinda surprised by that as this is not the first Feminist forum I have seen deeply damaged or destroyed.

Pratchet · 15/06/2018 00:16

Me too busy.

OP posts:
busyboysmum · 14/06/2018 23:12

I'm not going anywhere. I have every confidence that this too shall pass.

barnacharmer · 14/06/2018 23:06

@skyhighliver has just said exactly what I would have said if I got here first

Onlyinanemergency · 14/06/2018 23:02

I definitely think a de-lurking is in order!

skyhighliver · 14/06/2018 22:56

Another lurker here. I don't join in because so many women more eloquent than myself have already said all I wanted to say.
It would be a real shame to lose what we've got here. Maybe we need a mass de-lurk just to show how many of us there are that are listening and spreading the word in real life.

spontaneousgiventime · 14/06/2018 22:53

I've joined a forum, I can't see me staying here. It's lost all appeal with appeasement.

birdsdestiny · 14/06/2018 22:53

I have said this elsewhere but MN has a reach unlike any other site that has been mentioned. Stay if possible.

SirVixofVixHall · 14/06/2018 22:51

Uterati has gone ? ?

HotRocker · 14/06/2018 22:48

Seconded Only
You’re giving me the language to talk to people, speak my mind. MN may be able to restrict language on here but they can’t in real life. The more I learn, the more I speak, and the more I speak, the more others learn from me. You’ve helped me understand my thoughts, you’ve teaching me nuance, you’re giving me knowledge, and knowledge is Power.

This space won’t be ours unless we fight for it.

Onlyinanemergency · 14/06/2018 22:29

I would just like to speak on behalf of the lurkers. I've been skulking round here quietly for months and have had my eyes opened by so many eloquent and intelligent women. I've been given the words to go out and have these discussions with family and friends in real life and I could not have done that without you all behind me. Please, stay for the lurkers!
