R0wan, should we start a separate thread for the T agenda? There is stuff that dates back 15 years, if I can find it.

But certainly, I have the stuff from ATH from years ago that shows they want to get rid of all female-only spaces, even though some regular commenters here at MN keep saying "oh noes, that is not on the cards".

It is. Always was.

LangCleg · 13/06/2018 12:25

I really can't get over the support for Huntley.

But if you are an adherent to the ideology, it makes perfect sense. You simply believe a dangerous woman committed vile crimes and should be in the segregated wing (for dangerous prisoners) in a women's prison. It's consistent. If you believe in gender identity, "good trans" and "bad trans" doesn't come into it. Huntley is as trans as anyone else if Huntley says Huntley is trans.

I am, however, convinced that the original account reporting the deadnaming was a parody. And, having successfully got Twitter to expose itself - and gender identity ideology/the logic of self-ID - by sanctioning the woman who did the deadnaming, felt its work was now done - which is why it deregistered its own account.

LangCleg · 13/06/2018 11:32

I'm starting to understand how citizens of the late-stage Roman Empire ended up with a horse for a senator.

Yep. I said on another thread recently that one has to consider the current state of affairs as the tail end of Western civilisation when the principal concern of the elite liberal academy and liberal politicians is to deny how babies are made. I suppose we're just waiting to see what happens when the Chinese take over!

HornyTortoise · 13/06/2018 10:40

Thing is, transactivists HAVE to defend Huntley against deadnaming and misgendering, else they are showing that they do not actually support self-ID.

Though quite why anyone took a press report as gospel in the first p[lace is beyond me, and I find it odd that twitter would take a stand on this matter, if thats what happened.

WickedLazy · 13/06/2018 10:19

Those lib dem tweets are appalling. People that refer to a convicted child murderer, who has a penis, as a man, are the immoral ones? That man should be ashamed of himself, what a misogynistic waste of air.

Non of these men give a fuck about women or how we feel. They have zero respect for us. That's coming through loud and clear, much as they might deny it. They can't have other men acting like us, or it weakens their whole argument that men are different/superior. So they insist these men must actually be women. Because real men couldn't possibly enjoy wearing dresses, sticking on a bit of lipstick, shaving their legs etc.

Many trans people commit suicide after transitioning or having the op. It's not what they expected, and it doesn't fix things. This is a tradegy in itself, and it needs to be investigated fully. Two trans women in Ireland are now seeking reversal ops to become men again/regain their penis. TRA's don't care about the mental health of these men, any more than they care about women. It's all about preserving masculinity and male dominance. They can't have any damn nancy boys jeopardize that by being both male and feminine.

The root of men wanting to dress and behave like women, and have their penises cut of to emulate women, is either driven by the feelimg they aren't "right" (being told all their lives their personality doesn't match their gender, which is a load of stereotypical nonsense), the fear of other men harming them for being what they are (why isn't this being addressed? Why are we telling little boys who want to wear dresses they must be little girls, instead of telling them we must never bully someone for being different, and the biological fact that penis=male). And the seperate category of fetish driven behaviour like autogynephilia, which is a whole other thread in itself. The whole thing is shocking and feels like the beginning of a new dark age for humanity.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 13/06/2018 10:11

I'm starting to understand how citizens of the late-stage Roman Empire ended up with a horse for a senator. There's an element of "Ive got so much entitlement I just don't know what to do with it all any more"

Popchyk · 13/06/2018 09:35

Or do I understand that if you self-Id as the opposite sex your past crimes were committed by someone else?

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/female-transsexual-walks-free-court-8546941

The solicitor for Gina (formerly Gareth) Owen said: "She was literally a different person when she committed these offences."

Hey, if you can literally change your sex then your crimes can literally be committed by someone else, right?

R0wantrees · 13/06/2018 09:19

It was also something Jane Fae raised on the recent BBC program 'Big Questions' with Heather Brunskell-Evans.

I was going to link to the program which I think is episode 19.
Strangely it seems unavailable.... not sure why.

Highlighting that some women commit violent crimes was a point that Paris Lees was keen to stress some time ago as it it was raised in the interview with Nick Robinson.

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p05xp3z2

discussed here:

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 13/06/2018 08:52

It's traditional for male politicians to consider serious harm to vulnerable women as acceptable collateral damage in pursuit of their political aims

Austerity, universal credit, behaviour of peacekeeping forces overseas, efforts to decriminalise commercialised rape being just a few examples

But even in that context the proposal to make incarcerated women available to a serial rapist and murderer seems a bit extreme

Ereshkigal · 13/06/2018 08:36

They fail to acknowledge that most people obviously think men should go to a male prison and present it as a weird fringe opinion because TIMs are women, natch. Yes Ian Huntley is and has always been a woman. When he killed those little girls. When he allegedly committed other sex crimes against women. When he lied and lied to the police and was interviewed on camera. Right.

Ereshkigal · 13/06/2018 08:32

As the writer Katelyn Burns points out on Twitter, if violent crimes are now the threshold for getting sent to male prison, where are the campaigns to send violent female criminals who are not trans to men’s prisons?

Hmm

Dear Katelyn and Paris. Violent crimes are not "the threshold for getting sent to male prison". Being male is the threshold for getting sent to male prison. HTH.

I notice P downplays how violent P's crime apparently was.

OrchidInTheSun · 13/06/2018 08:21

God Lees must have had to trawl hard to find that list of women. And where is this horrific violence that trans people suffer? I keep seeing this being mentioned but there's never any evidence Hmm

Floisme · 13/06/2018 07:26

I actually have more time for McGregor's response than I do for Paris Lees spluttering and blustering. (Admittedly I didn't read it to the end.) At least McGregor is consistent - if you support self ID then you can't cherry pick.

Destinysdaughter · 13/06/2018 06:11

Here's what Paris Lees has to say about it...

NotMeOhNo · 13/06/2018 04:17

Yes they were identifying as men when they made it. Fucked up innit?

loveyouradvice · 13/06/2018 02:00

*Deadnaming: What should have been a triumph for women in the film industry, when Bridget Jones' Baby meant it was the first ever trilogy made by female directors, is now considered the second after the Wachowskis Matrix trilogy hmm

www.bustle.com/articles/183525-bridget-joness-baby-is-the-second-movie-trilogy-with-all-female-directors-but-thats-just-one*

Seriously - cannot believe this! The first ever movie trilogy made with all female directors was made by transwomen.... so recently transitioned - or even were they identifying (actually) men when they made it???????

AngryAttackKittens · 13/06/2018 01:42

I really can't get over the support for Huntley. Who wants to publicly align themselves with that guy? If you asked most people whether they'd choose to save a rabid dog or Huntley most people would choose the dog. Pretty sure a roach would win that contest too.

GeordieTerf · 13/06/2018 01:28

Wasn't that what Kellie Maloney said about attacking their ex-wife? It was because of their dysmorphia. SadAngry

scotsheather · 13/06/2018 01:13

I didn't really expect to peaktrans but this man has challenged my views like not before. We can only hope the system will weed out attention seeking, psychopathic, multiple rapist, double child murdering men, who for the record don't have any family or jobs to lose by 'transitioning' (he's lost them long ago) from abusing a system intended to help those with real and diagnosable dysphoria that rely on honour and honesty with subjective issues, and getting into a womens prison.

He's a scumbag in the extreme!

LaSqrrl · 13/06/2018 00:32

And the other excuse (used by one in the UK) "it was the dysphoria that made them do it".

Pfffft.

LaSqrrl · 13/06/2018 00:29

Or do I understand that if you self-Id as the opposite sex your past crimes were committed by someone else ?

A wife-killer in the US argues that very thing. His horrendous murder was committed by 'him as man-name', but look! she is a lady now, and nothing to do with the crime! Magic.

Please note: pronoun usage as per the killer's descriptions. ie, third party usage

IrmaFayLear · 12/06/2018 18:50
Confused

So who committed the Soham murders then? Ian or Lian? Or do I understand that if you self-Id as the opposite sex your past crimes were committed by someone else ?

This crap is going to result in a terrible tragedy at some point.

The tweet thread above continues with further reference to Action For Trans Health calls re birth certificates

Looks like all the TRAs involved have locked down their tweets this morning. Weird huh?
Yeah, quite weird TERFragette. I doubt with that degree of narcissism between them that they will be stealth for very long.

R0wan by coincidence I bookmarked some older stuff from ATH the other day. Have been too busy to post. But an older manifesto included getting rid of the sex-based protection of women's spaces, refuges, hospital wards, etc. Most of the rest of the stuff they achieved, or are about to achieve. It will be the last to fall I think. Of course the TRAs here insist that women-only spaces will still exist under the EA and we are just being panicky.

This is typical abuser/man strategy though, ask for an inch, keep going until you get the entire ruler. First 'just this, that is all'. Five minutes later 'now just this'. And so it goes on.
