Why was it deleted?

Wow sounds amazing!

BertrandRussell · 09/06/2018 10:58

Hmm. An alcoholic version of McDonalds frozen lemonade with vodka and blackberries. Anyone want to come round to mine tonight?

OP posts:
Ereshkigal · 09/06/2018 10:48

I think vodka.

BertrandRussell · 09/06/2018 10:18

I am going to use some frozen blackberries as ice cubes this evening. Can’t wait. With vodka or gin, do you think?

Yes when the grapes thaw out a bit you can eat them. But they're good when still a bit frozen.

AndhowcouldIeverrefuse · 09/06/2018 10:02

We have used frozen blackcurrants as ice cubes. Love the idea of frozen grapes. Are they edible afterwards?

Now peas in a cake , there's an abomination. Might as well make a broccoli sponge

Ah recipe books - 25 or so yes ago, in the the early days of t'interweb, I belonged to an isp called compuserve. Multiple forums on every imaginable topic. I belonged to the Women's issues forum. We got multiple and many trolls, all either ignored or dealt with using MN level humour. It was a golden age 😎. We also self published 2 cookbooks. I still have them 😺

Women keep having to deal with this shit. But we deal with it well.

BettyFloop · 09/06/2018 01:34

Writers
Any interest in the recipe book idea?
It was unstoppable - like a train - as you can see!

We will always find a way Wink

thebewilderness · 09/06/2018 01:24

Frozen grapes are my favorite ice substitute.

PencilsInSpace · 09/06/2018 01:12

We once used frozen peas in gin and tonics instead of ice once. It was interesting. Better than warm gin and tonic.....

Yes I've done this. It's not bad with hendricks

These sprout scones - brussel sprouts or sprouted seeds?

AngryAttackKittens · 09/06/2018 00:36

I'm not seeing what's wrong with normal cake ingredients like flour or chocolate, fruit if you want to be fancy.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/06/2018 00:34

DYAC peasy

ErrolTheDragon · 09/06/2018 00:34

Granola in a crumble sounds fine to me. Peas in cake though... I missed that one on the other thread.

In warm weather, peas go in a blender to make instant pea soup. Per person a bit of veg stock cube, about half a bowl of frozen peas, as much mint and/or chives as you like, add the other half bowl of boiling water, stir it a bit to let the peas thaw then blend. Heat up or chill down. Easy peas

RadicalFern · 09/06/2018 00:24

The peas go WHERE?!

GrainneWail · 09/06/2018 00:18

Uh oh. I gave dh whiskey bullets for his birthday. If he necks a g&t too quickly would I be responsible for literal violence or would it be self inflicted?

AngryAttackKittens · 09/06/2018 00:05

I eat my crumble plain with nothing on top at all...

(Runs away)

BertrandRussell · 09/06/2018 00:02

I have in the past put granola in crumble. Does that mean I'm not a feminist?

OP posts:
ErrolTheDragon · 09/06/2018 00:00

So what you're saying, Errol, is that you prefer a cake to be less cake and more convenient mechanism for delivery of dairy products,

Ah, one of those 'what you're saying' calumnies ... crumble, not cake, and you obviously need more of it if it's got to accommodate multiple toppings.

Fantasy, I'm afraid; the unfortunate reality in my house would be that we never have cream in, DH would have eaten all the custard, the ice cream wouldn't be the right sort of flavour to go on a fruit crumble and so I'd have to settle for a dollop of Greek yogurt.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 08/06/2018 23:54

Why dont people like oats in crumble?! Shock

Have you actually tried it? Food of the goddesses Smile fling some ground almonds in too when you're feeling flush.

I'm hungry always now Hmm

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 08/06/2018 23:48

You need to get yourself some of those whisky rocks bertrand

Ereshkigal · 08/06/2018 23:47

Very resourceful:)

spontaneousgiventime · 08/06/2018 23:47

I can't eat flour so make my crumble topping with all ground almonds. Highly calorific but oh, so good.

Flaked almonds are fantastic in crumble topping.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 08/06/2018 23:44
