Would it be more logical to encourage so-called trans identifying children to be socialised in their adopted gender, allowed puberty blockers, etc?

So that young trans women had female socialisation.

After all we have grave concerns about trans women
wh were raised with Male socialisation.

Just a thought.

I’m a natal woman and not stupid so I can correct you there.... But you don't do sarcasm, irony... taking the piss!

RabbitsAreTasty · 02/06/2018 22:59

What is your definition of "transition"?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 02/06/2018 22:58

So, imagine a world where you didn’t care about men and boys. Wouldn’t you want boys identifying as women to transition early in such a world?

Are you trying to rustle up some ideologies for a response to Margaret Atwood? The Footmasters Story? The HandMales Tail?

RabbitsAreTasty · 02/06/2018 22:57

What if the boy who says he feels more like a girl than a boy turns out to be a gay man? What if you've ruined his body with medical treatments?

I wish we could go back to that bit of the seventies and eighties where boys could wear makeup and flouncy blouses and people just raised eyebrows. No drugging or labelling for life.

spontaneousgiventime · 02/06/2018 22:57

Are you suggesting that feminists want all boy children turned into girl children to keep women and girls safe?

OldCrone · 02/06/2018 22:57

80% of trans identifying children no longer identify as trans after puberty.

Or we could address the socialisation that is harming everyone, particularly women and girls and maybe not sterilize the children.

speakingwoman · 02/06/2018 22:55

Thanks for replies am probably not making myself clear.

Ooh Cross posted.

So you aren't talking about women and girls at all then!

But thanks for the parenthetical explanation, we women (natal) are so very stupid. It's our fluffy pink brains, you know!

CantankerousCamel · 02/06/2018 22:55

How is only discussing males, centring women and girls?

I

thebewilderness · 02/06/2018 22:54

Because of all the reports of harm Lupron and other puberty blockers have caused to adults who used them on label and not off as puberty blockers it is my expectation that the Lupron treated children will be this generations thalidomide children.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 02/06/2018 22:53

I am just trying to centre women and girls. If I knew what that actually meant would I laugh or cry?

speakingwoman · 02/06/2018 22:53

Should have said am only talking about trans women (natal males)

spontaneousgiventime · 02/06/2018 22:52

Oops, we don't cause sterility twice.

RabbitsAreTasty · 02/06/2018 22:52

Socialised, yes, of course. Being gender non-comforming should be supported.

Puberty blockers are not "socialisation". They are a medical treatment with long-term damaging effects.

Nobody should be sterilising children.

Even if the children say that's what they think they want. Remember we aren't talking about 17 year olds. We are talking about pre-pubescent children for blockers. So 11 & 12 year olds. Nope. No sterilisation for them.

speakingwoman · 02/06/2018 22:52

Barack can you talk me through?

Or does the question not make sense?

I am just trying to centre women and girls.

OP posts:
spontaneousgiventime · 02/06/2018 22:51

So we give young people puberty blockers and encourage them in their adopted gender? We possibly sterilise them, cause unknown damage to them, likely cause them to be unable to function as a sexual being, Maybe cause sterility, all that so they can socialise in their chosen gender? I think you need your head read.

TransplantsArePlants · 02/06/2018 22:51

No

Obvs.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 02/06/2018 22:51

Nope!

Well, maybe, if you had a time machine and could track back to individuals who would benefit from such an intervention!

So, nope!

CantankerousCamel · 02/06/2018 22:50

Lupron causes irreversible damage to sexual organs, bones and ligaments.

How is giving this to young girls (often dealing with a very normal sense of fear over puberty) helping them in any way?

CloudCaptain · 02/06/2018 22:49

Eh?

BarrackerBarmer · 02/06/2018 22:48

No.
