The single sex ponds have quietly existed for an awful long time as a place that gay men & lesbians can hang out (not with each other [grin[). Of course the men don't want women there - and that goes for straight men who use them as well as some people do prefer single sex for a variety of reasons.

The idea that all must become single gender - not single sex - undermines this entirely, as it is so merrily undermining the very existence of homosexuality - insisting that it is by definition transphobic - that sexual orientation towards a sex rather than a gender is a bigoted position to take.

This is all aside of the utter hipocracy of the trans training being brought into effect when it's dicks in with the women, but a cunt or 2 in with the chaps and it's police time.

The fact that the byelaws only talk about keeping men out of the women's changing area reflects the reality that 1. there are a lot more pervy men than women and 2. in general men are more of a threat to women than vice versa.

I know it's absolutely breathtaking in its open hypocrisy and misogyny but I think it's true - men have three ponds to choose from at Hampstead - one of those single sex and women have two mixed sex ponds - albeit one only for female 'gendered' people.

Daimbars, please can you explain to me why people with penises are allowed in the women's pool (see Independent coverage from earlier this year) but people with vaginas are not allowed in the men's pool? Go on, give it a try. Do remember to show your working (marks will be deducted for simply asserting transwomen are women without any supporting argument).

I expect that as the police were not called when people identiying as women were in the ladies pool, that the people identifying as men assumed that the police wouldn't be called if the people identifying as men went in the mens pool
