No we weren’t asked to leave before they called the cops. They didn’t even want to speak to me when I first approached them, but when they realised I wasn’t a Wanker they were ok with conversation.

The people outside doing leafleting said that when the pigs (am trying to get as many slang police terms in as possible) got out of their car they were very aggressive and angry, and this played out a bit when we first spoke. The magic email (effectively a note from my mum) took the wind out of their sails. It was quite intimidating when they first barrelled in, all 3 of them to deal with a dozen docile feminists.

Secondly: look to the anger. Look to the twitter man who was furious about the intrusion and re-tweeted a tweet that shouted 'TRANSWOMEN ARE WOMEN'.

These men are not 'pro-trans rights'. Otherwise they'd be pro-'transmen' who should be able to go for a swim in the men's pool, just like Amy and Sweary G and the other 'transmen' who id as men.

Ask yourselves, why are these men angry at the demonstration, but not shouting for the rights of transmen to swim in the men's pool rather than the Man Friday 'interlopers' (who aren't technically!).

The answer is right in front of you.

This is not a true trans issue. it is a male rights issue. They want to be wherever they want to be. Whether it's a male or female space. And at the root of this, it's female spaces under threat.

And the men will fight for that. Not for you as a woman.

I think the lifeguards did due to complaints. I had a lovely chat with one of them and he said he had to call it in, whilst I said we had to protest and it wasn’t to him (who has to deal with this shit) and we were grateful for his professionalism.

There was a suggestion that some of the men were about to massively kick off, so that’s why they wanted us out. So women have to give way to violent men...

Good evening lovely Mumsnetters! (am a bit pissed, so will try to be coherent). What. A. Day.

First things first, well done to whoever (sorry, drunk, can't scroll back) spotted my t-shirt on Redbubble. There's 20% off with SAVESAVE20 today - I've worn it fairly regularly since October and it still looks great.

Anyhoo, ManMonday. It was all a bit secretive because we know the TRAs watch us on here and on Twitter so we didn't want to advertise it because we are all about peaceful protest. We had half a dozen women swimming, and about the same handing out leaflets and talking to the men. I think it was enough to make an impact, but not so many as to be massively intrusive. Perfect, if you will.

I emailed the Corporation of London about self ID trans inclusivity a month or so ago and received confirmation that we were welcome in the ponds we identified with, so no rules were broken.

It turns out, however, that the super-woke rules don't match up with the bylaws. The lifeguards called the rozzers on us and we were summoned to speak to them. I was out of the pond by them as I had run out of patience talking to a man who called us "petty and Edwardian" many times so I said I'd round everyone up. Seems rounding up self ID transmen swimmers is like herding cats but we got out of the pond. The super cross, manly, policemen took us to a side area and got their telling-off-book out and said we were in breach of summary offences, at which point I wibbled. Fortunately one of the other chaps said "Sweary has an email" so they asked to see it and changed their tune.

They told us, once we were changed and outside, that we had breached some bylaws but because the email was ambiguous they wouldn't take action today. No names or addresses were taken, but they will feed back to their Chief Constable. So the rules and the bylaws don't marry, fancy that.

Most of the men we spoke to - inside and outside moved from outraged that women were in their pond to agreeing with us in a matter of moments. I have a very fond memory now of a very grand old chap swearing at us in the ponds, and then when he realised we were on the same side outside having a lovely chat and a bit of a cuddle.

Anyway, all of us who do this are brave. Amy and I are the people who are at the front but there were a good dozen very brave women behind us, who are amazing.
