You couldn't make it up at this point, could you?

""Trans Voices for Repeal would like the..Together for Yes campaign..to formally acknowledge the pain their actions have caused trans people in Ireland, the negative effect their campaign has had on the mental health of trans people and the unnecessary nature of this exclusion."

TBH TERFragette I've never paid any attention to the whole 'lady dick' thing and I suspect most people haven't. Some of that aggressive stuff seems to come from fringe online keyboard warriors who may not even have actually transitioned in real life.

And yet you are on here daily telling us we are wrong for not calling men women.

Perhaps you need to educate yourself a bit before you judge other people who are keeping up to date with the latest trans activist activity?

I am happy to provide some reading material for you.

ThatEscalatedQuickly · 27/05/2018 13:36

There will be lobbying to make the text of the bill in Ireland 'gender neutral' I've no doubt.

R0wantrees · 27/05/2018 13:33

Extract from Fairplay4Women re the Scottish legislation:

"Last year while we were all looking the other way and distracted by the UK government’s proposals to reform the Gender Recognition Act the word woman was stolen from us. It was sneakily done by the Scottish parliament and hidden behind a smoke screen. That smoke screen was The Gender Representation on Public Boards Bill.

The Bill introduced the ‘gender representation objective’ – a target that women should make up 50% of non-executive board membership.

The purpose of this bill was admirable. It was to help women overcome the institutional sexism we suffer due to our sex. Positive action to redress the imbalances that have arisen from centuries of historical disadvantage. It was to acknowledge the reality that institutionalised inequality and sexist attitudes stop most women from reaching their full potential in public life. Financial barriers, income inequality, the gender pay gap, sexist attitudes, gender stereotyping, women’s disproportionate share of caring responsibilities, the undervaluing of women’s paid work, and media portrayals of women, to name but a few influences, all play a role in the sexism that prevents a fair number of women being involved in public life.

But in a cruel twist of irony it was also to be the perfect trojan horse to steal the very meaning of the words woman and female from us."

There is a play called The Lady Dick written in 1985 by Holly Hughes, apparently. Random fact.

Popchyk · 27/05/2018 13:26

Someone rather self-righteously taking issue with Deborah Orr.

Pregnant people can be male
Stop doing patriarchies job for it by equating gender to body parts

They are trying to strike that tricky balance of trying to take credit for the win, while simultaneously complaining that they were excluded from the campaign.

ThatEscalatedQuickly · 27/05/2018 13:25

It's is real SMG, they appear to be linked to Rad Queers Resist, who, to be fair to them, did a lot of work counter protesting the graphic anti abortion posters/protests outside maternity hospitals in recent weeks.

SardineReturns · 27/05/2018 13:16

Hmm

Well

Most poeple, in genderspeak, are "non binary", at least when it comes to cunty people, as we've found on here on multiple threads, most cunty people do not have any "internal sense of gender" instead just feeling like a person.

However, although according to definitions these women are non binary, most don't identify as non binary, understanding woman / female / she to refer to the fact that they are cunty.

So in this case, it really is ID trumping all, as while most women are "nonbinary", because they do not identify as such, they are not considered in statements like the one here saying that non binary people have been excluded. No they haven't, have they.

It's all so illogical and non-sensical that it makes my head hurt a bit.

YY to PP who says they are trying to change the definition of words (woman / girl / female not to mean cunty but to mean inner feelings) and then complaining that they are not included in the group when the conversation is about cunty related things.

Have they provided another word we can use to mean all cunty people, given that this is a very important category and makes up half the human race. No? Interesting that, isn't it. In fact, we are not allowed to have one.

NotTerfNorCis · 27/05/2018 13:14

Nothing about that statement surprised me. It seemed quite tame compared to a lot of rhetoric coming out of transactivism - Trans Health calling for trans prisoners to be released, for example.

SupermatchGame · 27/05/2018 13:11

Yes I watch all Blaire's stuff as well. I even look forward to new videos - that is sad lol.

WomanLifeIsGoodish · 27/05/2018 13:11

Super match game - By saying that is a lunatic account you are saying the people writing it have mental health issues?

Regardless of the use of lunatic, which is contraversial in this day and age, it is a development that you acknowledge that some TRAs can sometimes show characteristics that can be read as mental health issues.

It’s something noted within GC circles for a while that the issue with self-id is that those people will not access the help they need to deal with their mental health issues if a dysphoria diagnosis is no longer necessary. That is not a good thing. We should all want to live in a world where mental health issues are not swept under the carpet but acknowledged and managed with sympathy and dignity.

TERFragetteCity · 27/05/2018 13:11

My immediate response was that it couldn't be real.

I feel the same about lady dicks. Not real. Not genuine.

A lunatic dick-owner with no credibility.

Weird huh?

LassWiADelicateAir · 27/05/2018 13:07

I get that you want to disassociate yourself from such blatant narcissism but suggesting that it's 'not real' makes you look desperate

Yes. I'm a bit of a fan of Blaire White. This is exactly the sort of thing she would call out- not as being fake but as obvious nonsense.

SupermatchGame · 27/05/2018 13:06

Ok fair enough Her. My immediate response was that it couldn't be real. But accept that I could be wrong.

LassWiADelicateAir · 27/05/2018 13:04

Here is the link

twitter.com/transforrepeal

And here is the screenshot of it appearing in that feed.

Supermatch- I rarely post on trans threads. Most of the regulars on FWR recognise that "gender critical" / trans issues are not of any great concern to me.

TERFragetteCity · 27/05/2018 13:04

I do know and I also know where you're going with this. Just stop.

Either way it is clearly a lunatic twitter account with no credibility.

You mean I am trying to get you to clearly explain something that you said - yes going down into the depths of darkness there.

HerFemaleness · 27/05/2018 13:03

supermatchgame On what grounds do you believe that 'trans voices for repeal' are not acting in good faith in making this request.

The twitter feed suggests that person behind it sincerely believes that trans people are the most victimised and oppressed of all here because they're not being centered in a woman's fight for control over her body.

I get that you want to disassociate yourself from such blatant narcissism but suggesting that it's 'not real' makes you look desperate.

SupermatchGame · 27/05/2018 13:00

I do know and I also know where you're going with this. Just stop.

Either way it is clearly a lunatic twitter account with no credibility.

LassWiADelicateAir · 27/05/2018 12:59

Which twitter feed lass?

The one linked to.

TERFragetteCity · 27/05/2018 12:58

On what grounds do you think TERFragette?

You are the one saying it cannot be real.

So on what ground would it be outrageous if it was?

If you are going to tell us an opinion at least follow through with a reason.

Unless you don't actually know why you think what you think.

AdeliciousRex · 27/05/2018 12:56

Whoops. That means that supergamematch agrees on something here. Quick, take it back! Grin

NotTerfNorCis · 27/05/2018 12:55

So it's a genuine Twitter account, and it claimed the Medium piece. Case closed.

Popchyk · 27/05/2018 12:55

God, there are some belters on that Twitter feed.

I laughed my arse off at this one:

twitter.com/transforrepeal/status/980923872190058498

"And if you’re a local @Together4yes group reading this, do right by us, do right by the non-women and non-girls who cross that sea at the same rate as the others, shipped away by our government like some great shame for something that should be free, safe and legal at home"

And this:

twitter.com/transforrepeal/status/980797446182920192

Fun fact, 50% of the people I know who have travelled for abortion are not women. Do better #together4yes, we are real and the 8th is hurting us too.

NotTerfNorCis · 27/05/2018 12:53

I'm sure it's real. The Twitter account is more than 2 months old and has 134 serious-sounding tweets. It's followed by TRAs including Aoife Martin, as well as a lot of Repeal people. They wouldn't be there if it was mocking TRAs.

SupermatchGame · 27/05/2018 12:49

On what grounds?

On what grounds do you think TERFragette?

SupermatchGame · 27/05/2018 12:48

Poe's law.

So that is actually a thing. Just googled it. Oh well every day is a school day on here.
