The tiny, tiny number of TRAs have had such a grotesquely disproportionate influence on this on social media but in the real world no-one would believe what they're demanding because they're sneaky and great at playing at Most Oppressed Ever. I mean what the fuck did the referendum success have to do with them? Nothing in the campaign except a few of them doing the same work everyone else did, happily and anonymously. So why is it a victory over radical feminists? You ask any older Irish woman who voted yes if women's oppression is rooted in our biology and you'll get blank looks- of course it is, what else could it be? Most of them are radfems without ever using the term - women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond, who have a lot of experience of how the Catholic establishment treated women. They were the ones who carried it through, not just the blue haired postmodernism-drunk kids who know fuck all about life. And they aren't on Twitter in such great numbers so you get this bonkers narrative.

There have been times in the past when there was a concerted effort by men to edit women out of humanity and recorded history by changing our name or our sex. It is bizarre to realize that we are living one of those historically significant periods and can see how it was and is being done.

These fucking misogynists want to obscure language around the patriarchy, so we can't talk about how it has traditionally operated in Ireland to harm women and girls. Instead the abortion debate is just a vague 'oh people who happen to have this body have had tribulations' but we can't connect this issue with male oppression. That would be transphobic to TIFs FFS.

Pratchet, it's fairly representative of the main trans rights org in Ireland, TENI, who are currently pushing to have self-id extended to under-18s.

I don’t think it can be taken as representative of the thinking of trans people as a whole - as with critical feminists, there’s going to be a wide range of opinions in any group.

It is certainly representative of the people who are getting laws written which pretend that men can be women.

As it happens, the people of Ireland are a lot more liberal than we thought, and have voted to help the WOMEN and GIRLS who have crisis pregnancies. However, they probably would be a bit put off by counterintuitive language like "pregnant people" and it wasn't used. This has enraged the TRA narcissists who like to make everything all about them.
