A letter to a female transactivist

Just saw this on Twitter. Brilliant

"A man is not a woman. There’s no medical procedure that can change sex in humans or any other mammal. When you fight for the right of men to call themselves “women” and enter woman-only spaces on the basis of their say so, you are doing what Men’s Rights Activists have always done. You are violating women’s boundaries for personal gain. You are allowing men to colonise women’s spaces. You are creating a climate of fear where women and girls will start to withdraw from public life, because all semblance of safety – access to sex seggregated spaces when they are vulnerable – will be destroyed. Your activism is not feminism, it’s at best a misguided naiveté, and at worst opportunism to get ahead while throwing other women under the bus. And by the time you realise how foolish you’ve been, because you are “just” a woman in those men’s eyes, it’ll be too late. The way entitled men disrespect women, the way they mow women down, the way they put their own needs, feelings and wants before women’s lives and livelihoods, they’ll do the same to you when you’re no longer useful to them."

soapbox totally agree. And one thinks that’s really apparent to me now I’m over 40 and therefore unfuckable and invisible is that men weren’t interested in me or my opinions or knowledge they just wanted a fuck. Especially in the workplace (NAMALT obvs)

That’s why we all turn into bitter lesbian feminists when we get old (!). We suddenly realise that we were never equal, they just wanted into our pants. And were prepared to pretend for as long as it took.

I think for a lot of younger women the true face of patriarchy hasn't hit them yet. They believe that most issues have been resolved and the ones that are left are universal.

I think the ones that do see some of the issues but can't align that knowledge within the current climate come out as non-binary or similar. They reject the pornified culture that is womanhood but don't know how to do that through a Libfem ideology so reject womanhood entirely.

Elendon · 28/05/2018 19:45

Men/males/boys are are lot more complicated than they give themselves credit for.

It was after all men who legislated to abolish gay men, some of these men were gay in 'heterosexual' marriages. They medicated 'feminine' men to 'correct' them. Even men who were heterosexual but not fully partaking of a 'male' way of life were targeted.

Bowlofbabelfish · 28/05/2018 18:50

Anushkasmum

Yes/no question for you. It’s a simple one.

Do you believe humans can change sex?

Anushkashsmum · 28/05/2018 13:52

Haha 😂 and here's me thinking you had be be fully fledged members of the WI... Being allowed to have an opinion works both ways as does choice of partners and friends.. Some on here need to remember that.

spontaneousgiventime · 28/05/2018 13:44

All these handmaidens will see soon enough they are nothing to the TRA and MRA. For now, they are a means to an end. Get the reforms through the TRA and MRA want and the handmaidens will be jettisoned. They are women, so great to use to do the leg work but never to accept as equals, by then of course it will be too late.

AngryAttackKittens · 28/05/2018 13:34

Well, I'm not a mum so I guess it's OK if I don't feel like nurturing randoms who're shouting nonsense at me then?

PencilsInSpace · 28/05/2018 13:28

Especially from 'mothers' who are by nature meant to be caring and nurturing

Oh please tell us more about how we are 'by nature meant to be' Grin

(pssst - your slip's showing, mate Wink)

LangCleg · 28/05/2018 13:28

I failed female socialisation so appeals to it do nothing for me.

PencilsInSpace · 28/05/2018 13:27

I couldn't agree more...

Pack it in then. This is a thread about female transactivists. Young women like , female-non-binary-style-people like .

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 28/05/2018 13:17

Yep, TIM alert.

Mothers are 'supposed' to be caring & nurturing to their own offspring, especially when said offspring are small. Are you saying that, because this is Mumsnet (where, btw, not all are mothers or even women) that we should spend our time be soft & cuddly? Biscuit recipes and cute kittens only? No critical thinking allowed because some of us have kids and we must apply those soft, cuddly feelings to all and sundry, no matter what batshit for brains they may have.

Get real.

LaSqrrl · 28/05/2018 13:01

I guess you are a TIM Anush? You sound like one. The sob story of the abuse they receive (but crickets on the abuse online feminists receive) and then go onto 1) blame mothers (what's with the single scare quotes?) and 2) assume all women who give birth must be nurturing, or death to them? All male-think. You might want to work on that.

LaSqrrl · 28/05/2018 12:58

wish
In the case of women like Ash whatsername and Laurie Penny, they do it for male approval and virtue cookies as misogynists like Owen Jones and Paris Lees and Shon Faye tell them what good girls they are.

What they don’t realise is that they will say or do the wrong thing eventually and be branded as terfs along with the rest of us.

Laurie, aka Penny Red, has already (years ago) said something very mildly questioning about trans - and got subsequently hammered for it (and then she bent over backwards to appease them). Hence my above comment:
And tweet it to Penny Red. Clueless woman who will never get a clue.

Throwing women under a bus is her mission in life it seems. Already have done 20 rounds with her on paid rape.

LaSqrrl · 28/05/2018 12:53

You rang? I have no fucks left to give and will happily point out to handmaidens that throwing other women under the bus won't win them any respect from men - they'll get thrown right under themselves as soon as they're no longer useful.

Clearly I have a lot of evil to catch up on then! I bow to The Kittens.
You are totally right that there is a cozy place under the bus for them, when no longer useful to men.

How can 'being a female transactivist' somehow become so twisted by disingenuous posters to mean 'anybody with a trans partner or friend'? Hmm

There's an amazing twitter thread here about the lessons we can learn from the many times in history when totalitarianism has arisen from student movements and academia.

Anushkashsmum · 28/05/2018 12:11

How can having a partner who is trans or even friends who are trans.. Somehow become so twisted by extreme feminist..be likened to ISIS.. totally crazy... From the lipstick lesbian now Handmaiden xxx

LangCleg · 28/05/2018 10:48

You rang? I have no fucks left to give.

You're a candidate for the full 100%, right?!

AngryAttackKittens · 28/05/2018 10:10

Of course they could just clean house and push the AGPs out from under the umbrella.

No? Not going to do that? Well then, we'll just have to keep pointing out that they're there and what that means for women.

PencilsInSpace · 28/05/2018 10:01

Thankfully I don't think even woke Britainia is ready to install used tampon/pad machines for autogynaphiles next to the regular vending machines in the ladies. Envy

In 1994 the correct term was 'transvestic fetishists'. I wonder if that's still OK or if there's a more correct term these days. Wouldn't want to get it wrong and erase anybody.

I wonder if Ash is aware of bin rummagers. I wasn't until yesterday. I'd love to know her view.

What it reminded me of is those vending machines in Japan where men can buy nicely packaged used female underwear.

PencilsInSpace · 28/05/2018 09:52
from about 16 seconds.
AngryAttackKittens · 28/05/2018 09:46

You mean cyan jacket and shorts over leggings at Hyde Park and ponytail guy who advanced on her in classic male pattern back down now or I'll make you manner?

TERFragetteCity · 28/05/2018 09:45

Has anyone got a link to that video of a TRA who was pulled back from attacking a woman, by a TRA supporter (woman) and who went to thump her for holding him back, until another man stepped in?

It is like transactivism in ten seconds.

When they say 'enjoy your erasure' - they mean you too!
