Glad the trash tv helped OP. Hope it all goes well, it's a little too far for me to travel otherwise I think I would come along.

You will have a ball, Writers. Every time I've watched this stuff, the women are literally buzzing afterwards. Hope you don't get too much stress in the meantime - you're doing a grand thing

YY. The meetings and socialising after are so great. Consciousness raising is powerful. Female energy is powerful. (Sorry to sound a bit woo) 🍷

I took SarahConnor1’s suggestion and watched some trash TV and contemplated my navel. Much better now.

We are working on live-streaming and various other things. I’d rather like a pin badge that declares me as an old fashioned cunty woman but that might have to wait.

We have space if more women wish to travel down! It’s going to be great. I mean, it’s Cornwall! Nothing ever happens here, and look what’s going on! I was in Truro earlier and I turned to my husband and said “next week this place is going to be packed with feminists. Isn’t that amazing?” Grin (Poor bloke).

Picasso, I really, really want to go, but I'm 7 hours away and I have 3 kids to get to school (plus one in the middle of gcse's!). a woman's work is never delegated...

I want live streaming (please please) Grin

They are nothing more than community centre echo chambers and recruiting grounds. Which is a shame because I would prefer more debate and less vitriol all round.

They inform. They explain the implications with real live situations.
Lucy Massoud for example.
AGP explanations from someone who has tracked the history for decades.
A live impromptu conversation between the leader of the WEP and an Academic who was ousted by trans people.

Lesbians who have had their communities filled with men blowing them apart. I was at a meeting last week with 75 vey unhappy lesbians. They brought themselves together to talk about their own situation.
Ousted Labour party officials heartbroken about their party.

Don’t dismiss this. It’s real.

Picassospaintbrush · 01/06/2018 20:13

@SwearyG

You were asking about accommodation up thread. I have a spare room in my holiday home if you want it.
Its twin beds.

PoulaFisch · 01/06/2018 20:12

Ereshkigal

*That will be because #nodebate from your TRA chums, dear Poula

Eresh... I don't know a single Trans Rights Activist personally or afaik acquainted with one. So far from chums. In fact some of the stuff I see written by certain "TRA" probably gets up my chuff more than it does yours.
However, I've read about these meetings and watched them. They're often referred to as debates but they simply aren't. They are nothing more than community centre echo chambers and recruiting grounds. Which is a shame because I would prefer more debate and less vitriol all round.

DarthArts · 01/06/2018 20:08

@Melamin

Feel the same...sigh

I see the war still rages "over there".

Time for GinGinGin

@Writersblock2 - wish you all the best for a successful meeting and thanks you yourself and the local team who organised it. I'll be tuning in on live feed if available or twitter.

Picassospaintbrush · 01/06/2018 20:08

I was in two minds as it's a long way but I am determined to go now.

Melamin · 01/06/2018 20:05

Thanks so much Grin

I came to this thread and it is an oasis of calm in spite of the attempts to derail.

I really want the meeting to go ahead even though I cannot go myself. I am sure I am not alone.

ToeToToe · 01/06/2018 20:01

Pours Wine and Gin for battle-weary Melamin Smile

Picassospaintbrush · 01/06/2018 20:01

Terrible thread Melamin. Actively sabotaging, well attempting to, a meeting.

Melamin · 01/06/2018 19:58

Have you any more Wine ?

I have had a shit day and the squabbling on the other thread has finished me off.

Gin too please.

Ereshkigal · 01/06/2018 19:42

That will be because #nodebate from your TRA chums, dear Poula.

PoulaFisch · 01/06/2018 19:36

Today 19:22 flashnazia

Nice to know nobody gives a shit about giving a platform to someone who tweets like Katie Hopkins lite... If I didn't feel welcome in the debate before I certainly fucking don't now. But it's ok as it doesn't affect white ppl hmm
Have you ever watched one of these meetings online? I've yet to see debate. They're nothing more than rallies.

ToeToToe · 01/06/2018 19:24

Ignore.

It's a world of weird that thread now. I'm might watch some shite TV and come back later when they have worn each out.
