Come on, you wonderful women, I’m making a last push here to invite you down to Truro, Cornwall. Come and hear Posie Parker, Miranda Yardley, Jean Hatchet and Judith Green speak. You know you want to....

Tickets still available at Eventbrite

@J4nice why don't you join and listen? Maybe your view of what is going on is not quite accurate.

I went to a similar meeting and two trans women were present. One was one of the speakers. Everyone was relaxed, friendly, no one was hostile.

I've got a little story about protesting. In my hippy days in the early 80s I was pro CND and we heard the film "who dares wins" was very anti CND.

So we went to protest it. But decided we couldn't protest it if we didn't't actually know what was in it! So we stood abouut for a bit and then paid for tickets and went in.

It's still one of my favourite films and is nothing to do with CND.

I guess I am just saying why not find out what some women are saying?

The women who were able to offer a lift from approx 100 miles up the line - could you send me a message? Someone needs a lift. Ta.

Absolutely! J4nice - why don’t you come in and have a chat? We don’t bite. There may even be biscuits.

Looks like we’ve started a series of lovely tweets/comments on Twitter. Offers of accommodation, travel, tickets. Aren’t women great? :)

This is such a nice thread. All aboard the charabang

Pratchet · 05/06/2018 13:07

J, why don't you join in the debate? All are included in the invite and there will no doubt be questions. Don't exclude yourself!

J4nice · 05/06/2018 13:04

I am going just to protest

Writersblock2 · 05/06/2018 12:26

Hi @Pywife2 - definitely not women only. We have two or three men who have purchased tickets and contacted me directly to offer support. So tell your DH he is more than welcome!

Looking forward to seeing everyone there, DH and I staying with my brother in Truro this week and DH wants to come. We've got tickets, just checking it's not women only? DH is far from a radical feminist but I would like him to come if possible.

I have a spare room too if it helps but I am over an hour away from Truro in Devon. Please message me if this is of use to anyone attending.

Writersblock2 · 04/06/2018 21:43

There’s been a bit of hassle but nothing too bad. It comes with the territory, I think!

Right, countdown mode now (we will pretend I’m not frazzled!). Reaching out to the wonderful women who are attending - anybody able to borrow a PA system? We’ve come up against some issues. But we will get there!
Tickets are still selling well! :D

A spare twin bedroom is available in my holiday home for anyone or two women needing it.

I will be donating, I have a problem with a hacked paypal account.

Writersblock2 · 03/06/2018 21:47

We’ve just had a donation. If it was from one of you wonderful women here - thank you!!

I've bought a ticket and will be driving from the SE on Saturday and staying overnight. I'm really looking forward to it. Missed the bunfight too. Smile

Writersblock2 · 03/06/2018 17:22

@NaturalBornWoman that’s very kind of you, thank you. We are currently using the email [email protected] so anybody can donate via PayPal to that email.

And thank you also, Joan and Corbyn - great summing up of the situation down here. Even though we have a few months to organise the WPUK event, we’ve had about ten days to cobble this together. So we are down on numbers of attendees. It’s such a shame because I’m not sure how else we can reach out to them.

NaturalBornWoman · 03/06/2018 16:58

I'd like to make a donation, is there a way to do that other than buying tickets I can't use and don't want to take away from someone else?
