Guess how I got suspended from the Labour Party?

Well, one of the weirdest days in my life concluded with me receiving a letter informing me of my immediate suspension from the Labour Party. They believe I may have breached the rules by subverting the intention of All Women Shortlists, Women’s Officers or minimum quotas for women. Unfortunately, this does mean that my political ambitions are on hold for a while. I shall of course be continuing to self-identify as a woman every Wednesday, as that is my gender identity...

I have to say a huge thanks to @namechangeah for all her help, guidance and, more importantly, proof-reading! I wouldn’t have gotten to this point without it. I’d also like to thank everyone for their support today. I hope this has helped a bit.

And the Telegraph called me an “activist”! Achievement unlocked Grin

Funny that it was completely fine for madigan to do that though.

Thank you David for standing up for women and yes labour have shown how little they care about women by suspending you

SleepIsForTheWeek · 23/05/2018 00:00

Gin for you David, tis the drink of us wimmin.

Ereshkigal · 22/05/2018 23:59

I don know what their procedures are but everyone else who has been suspended over this issue got an interview with O’Brien at least.

Good point!

EmpressOfSpartacus · 22/05/2018 23:59

Welcome to MN David!

Yes, you really need to appeal on this, and cite Pips Bunce and Eddie Izzard as precedents. If they can do it so can you.

Lemonjello · 22/05/2018 23:58

Hi David, welcome.

Did they say if they will be carrying out an investigation? Surely they need to have evidence and present it to you for a response?

ErrolTheDragon · 22/05/2018 23:58

He's still a bloke till his alarm goes off Wednesday morning.

StealthNinjaMum · 22/05/2018 23:57

Good work David, hope you can appeal this decision and continue to draw attention to Labour's ridiculous position on this.

OlennasWimple · 22/05/2018 23:55

Flowers - I think it's Wednesday where you are now, so have a feminine token of appreciation

HaroldsSocalledBluetits · 22/05/2018 23:54

Thanks for your work, David. I'd much rather have you as a women's officer than have Madigan as one - you're actually campaigning on women's issues without even being elected, whereas Madigan is failing to represent women despite being elected.

"Show us your tits, David" Shock Grin

Thanks David (ignore the uncooth haridans) Flowers. Do you plan to appeal your suspension?

SaraTree · 22/05/2018 23:53

Welcome to the MN coven Grin
You're my new (only on a Wednesday) shero [evil cackles] & Wine

SpareRibFem · 22/05/2018 23:50

Thank-you, amazing how quick they move to suspend someone who shows up their absurdity and how slow they are to suspend the repugnant members.

Pratchet · 22/05/2018 23:50

I'd vote for you David. What a principled man you are. In fact if a man had to be woman's officer, be my guest.

namechangeah · 22/05/2018 23:48

It is really him. I am a regular MN poster. Pom bears, fruit shoots, Mexican house thief etc etc.

LighthouseSouth · 22/05/2018 23:46

Is that really you?

If so - solidarity fist bump! Can you cope with media etc, do you want us to tweet and so on?

IwankaTramp · 22/05/2018 23:45

Just adding my thanks too.

mooncuplanding · 22/05/2018 23:41

Show us your tits, David

But in the meantime I hope some more papers take up the story. Bravo

Pratchet · 22/05/2018 23:39

Hi and thanks. As soon as the women publicly approved, that was the end for you! That's how much Labour hates us. That's a sacrifice you made and it's appreciated.

Sparkyduchess · 22/05/2018 23:38

It must have been quite a day today, I’m another who is sorry but unsurprised at your suspension. You’ve exposed the total farce that is self ID to lots of people which is a win.

Now, more importantly...are you wearing something suitably girly tomorrow, or sticking with your GNC stance?

Terfulike · 22/05/2018 23:38

False claims as in vexatious claims

IAmDavidLewis · 22/05/2018 23:38

@Terfing After much thought * , I went with “David”. A typically feminine name isn’t part of my gender identity and I’m comfortable with the way my name sounds.

@Sunkisses Time to get myself back to the barbers!

@ErrolTheDragon Wine, Merlot, room-temperature **

  • not much at all, to be honest ** yes, this is a Star Trek: TNG reference

You need to pout more I reckon. That seems to be the main criteria as far as I can tell.

Wanderabout · 22/05/2018 23:38

Turns out Labour are big old TRANSPHOBES. Do you think you would have a case for legal action over discrimination?

Badgerthebodger · 22/05/2018 23:37

That’ll be why Aornis, too much concern for women. I think to do it properly you need to be committed to the erasure of women by full scale chucking under a parade of buses
