Probably going to get shot down massively here but a simple question clearly there is a lot of hate for men wanting to be women, but nothing about women becoming men. Do you also frown upon this or is it ok and for what reason?

Nobody report that post by Huffsoy.

Let it stand - these are the Transactivists in their own words. They are abusive and threatening to women.

huffsoy · 21/05/2018 13:42

At least I'm not transphobic like you

spontaneousgiventime · 21/05/2018 13:37

BINGO I win, what's the prize? Women don't bow down to huffsoy so Huff huffs and flounces with a load of insults in their wake. How very predictable.

f you want to know the facts do research it's simple this day and age with the vast access to medical information online and through medical professionals and medical websites

I’ve been a scientist for 22 years now, so I’m well aware of the research and ‘the facts.’

I also wouldnt believe all you read on the web. And you may not have the background to critically appraise what you read.

Bowlofbabelfish · 21/05/2018 12:55

woman who transition take testosterone and gain strength and muscles of a man and can get just as violent and aggressive as a man because that what hormones can do.

No - you can gain far more muscle mass that you can without taking the (really really bad for you) cocktails of anabolic steroids and hormones but you can’t ever reach what is considered a male physique. The male skeleton, length of levers, physical attachment points of muscles etc etc are missing.

You also increase aggression but not to Male levels. Overall, the sexes retain the criminal offending patterns of their sex.

Ah, I see the male domination is still alive and well in the trans 'community' there Huff.

You hate females. We get it.
Shame you want to be one, isn't it?

TL;DR - stop shitting on TIFs, it will bring you no favour here.

AssassinatedBeauty · 21/05/2018 11:54

What's your definition of male and man @SupermatchGame?

Ereshkigal · 21/05/2018 11:05

What specific facts are you talking about other than the issue you mention? Most people have researched this.

huffsoy · 21/05/2018 10:55

I see people saying thay there's no danger of woman who become men and no disadvantage, woman who transition take testosterone and gain strength and muscles of a man and can get just as violent and aggressive as a man because that what hormones can do.

I see a lot of ignorance when discussing either mtf or ftm gender issues without people knowing all the facts.

Trans women are not males

Oh supermatch...I’ve asked before and I’ll ask again can humans change sex?

ErrolTheDragon · 21/05/2018 01:04

Trans women are not males

That's not what quite a few transwomen who've posted on MN say. Confused

LaSqrrl · 21/05/2018 00:57

Earwigs ARE wigs!

Under Birds Eye.

LaSqrrl · 21/05/2018 00:55

Actually, it my comment was more about when you brought up male victimisation rates for murder as some kind of... point?

But of course you then went back to TWAW.

So yes, that is why I used the word 'males' in my comment. A check of the DNA will prove that statement correct. TWANW

SMG certainly spends a lot of time worrying about males.

Nauticant: I agree stats schmats but
What if

If it were a specially low risk group, then the risk level of the rest of the men would rise when they left it

Surely this is true. Happy to be corrected (always)

I think that on average the men who transition have a lower risk to start with (compared to men in general). My guess is that white middle class men are over over-represented in transwomen. And have less need to be exposed to additional risk factors.

But some of the 'gay male transitioners' from lower socio economic status would not be at less risk compared to men in general. But it could explain why black trans women are over represented in the statistics compared to white, yes.

Ereshkigal · 20/05/2018 21:44

I've always been skeptical of this. I don't think that transitioning reduces risk, I think that on average the men who transition have a lower risk to start with (compared to men in general). My guess is that white middle class men are over over-represented in transwomen. And have less need to be exposed to additional risk factors.

Yes, this is a good point. Without the nuance, you can make these statistics say anything. Like transactivists do.

nauticant · 20/05/2018 21:38

You will find that a male cuts the risk of being murdered by transitioning

Here is the author, Margaret Atwood, explaining the circumstance that prompted to oft quoted comparison.

" I asked a male friend of mine. (I love that wonderful rhetorical device, "a male friend of mine." It's often used by female journalists when they want to say something particularly bitchy but don't want to be held responsible for it themselves. It also lets people know that you do have male friends, that you aren't one of those fire-breathing mythical monsters, The Radical Feminists, who walk around with little pairs of scissors and kick men in the shins if they open doors for you. "A male friend of mine" also gives — let us admit it — a certain weight to the opinions expressed.) So this male friend of mine, who does by the way exist, conveniently entered into the following dialogue. "I mean," I said, "men are bigger, most of the time, they can run faster, strangle better, and they have on the average a lot more money and power." "They're afraid women will laugh at them," he said. "Undercut their world view." Then I asked some women students in a quickie poetry seminar I was giving, "Why do women feel threatened by men?" "They're afraid of being killed," they said."

You will note of course in your quest for accuracy how much larger the dogs are than than the fox supermatch.
