Lily Madigan - to celebrate 300 women leaving LP with a party

LaSqrrl · 13/05/2018 00:49

The facebook event now seems removed, but Feminist Current does have the screenshot before it disappeared.

Constituency Labour Party Women’s Officer for Rochester and Strood, Lily Madigan, a trans-identified male, plans to host a party to celebrate women leaving the Labour Party in protest of Labour’s policy allowing men to self-identify their way onto all women candidate shortlists.

(Sorry if this one has been posted before, I looked, but could not see a matching thread)

I am posting this to illustrate that TRAs do not want to join 'Class Woman', but to take over 'Class Woman' and throw out the existing inhabitants, then celebrate their victory over women (eg 'enjoy your erasure'). This is why 'we cannot get along' and have zero in common with them.

*Joan

It was deleted because some people were complaining about a comment re Caityln Jenner was ageist.

JoanSummers · 15/05/2018 22:14

Done squishies, but the whole blog is vwry funny and worth a look topdyke.wordpress.com

I assume linking a whole blog isn't illegal but it's run by a lesbian - a real one not a male who identifies as one - so who knows. I heard they're all witches on twitter and you know what they say about smoke and fire.

JoanSummers · 15/05/2018 22:09

Oh I didn't see the twitter moaning. Maybe that's why it disappeared. It seems like some moderation decisions are being based on twitter reactions but who really knows.

whyaresquishiesnotsquishy · 15/05/2018 22:07

Joan please could you PM my the satirical blog about genderquake? I'd love to read it! (That's allowed surely!)

ToeToToe · 15/05/2018 22:05

That genderquake blog was very funny - both DH and I thought it was great.

It was moaned about on twitter (yawn). But we saw it (ha!) so thank you Joan Grin

JoanSummers · 15/05/2018 22:02

I started a thread a couple of days ago linking a satirical blog post about Genderquake. The whole thread disappeared and noone explained why that I saw, there was no warning. It just said "not in the spirit" when I tried to look at it. It's all a bit sinister imo.

LaSqrrl · 15/05/2018 21:55

Another swiss cheese thread Hmm
I was going to go over the site stuff forum, and request that mods copy the 'offending' message to PM, and give proper reasons for deletion ('transphobia' as 'reason' doesn't cut it).

A post I made much earlier in this thread was deleted. I have no idea why, or what basis, as I have genuinely attempted to adhere to their 'Talk Guidelines'. It is not exactly helpful when they delete stuff like that, and you have no idea why, particularly when moderation seems inconsistent.

And I meant, "There isn't a minefield."

PoulaFisch · 15/05/2018 19:36

Mobile bold fail soz.

PoulaFisch · 15/05/2018 19:35

@Ereshkigal@

@Phil Bunce is gender fluid. Only "she" when identifying as "Pips". See the minefield here?@
There is a minefield. Phil Bunce is a "he". In a social situation were he is presenting as Pippa then "she" or "he" depending on your point of view or level of comfort. I don't recall reading anywhere that he has preferred pronouns? If he insisted on "she" and you objected he doesn't have leg to stand on.
Gender fluid=fancy term for transvestite/crossdresser.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 15/05/2018 19:25

Oh I forgot that on man Friday I tried that.

But since there was only me and 2 gay guys in the office that day (and it was dress down so I was wearing jeans and a jumper) I didn't feel that I was really having the opportunity to unleash my inner Billy.

JoanSummers · 15/05/2018 19:22

Don't be confused.

If a male who ids as trans is a TA on social media, no 'misgendering' allowed.

If a male who ids as trans is not busy on social media, say what you want.

That seems to be the rule.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 15/05/2018 19:21

So I can say that I am a 'he' tomorrow? Even thought I will be at a techy trade show in a skirt, slap and heels (not in a dolly bird way).

This could be fun...

SporadicSpartacus · 15/05/2018 19:20

I’m beyond confused now.

Ereshkigal · 15/05/2018 19:20

Phil Bunce is gender fluid. Only "she" when identifying as "Pips". See the minefield here?

JoanSummers · 15/05/2018 19:04

I saw, about Lily Madigan and Phil Bunce was it?

They're making it clear they don't believe these people are women, or they would stand by their moderation regardless of who it was.

AngryAttackKittens · 15/05/2018 19:02

Depends which mod gets the "go look at this" message I assume. Which is not a great way to do things.

BetsyM00 · 15/05/2018 19:00

MN allowed your post to stand Joan, but Terfulike's post at 17:40 said exactly the same thing and was deleted. I reported both posts.

JoanSummers · 15/05/2018 18:42

Ian Huntley has been widely reported as identifying as a woman.

It doesn't matter how long he has been doing it if we accept self id.

For all we know he has felt like a laydee inside as long as Madigan or Jenner has.

So the difference for Mumsnet is that he is a murderer?

I don't believe that. They allow it to stand because they know the bad publicity and outrage they would get for acting upon his 'misgendering'. They don't allow it to stand for the others because they'd upset the trans activists on social media. They place keeping those activists sweet over their members, despite that all those TAs hate Mumsnet anyway.

This is so wishy washy I don't know how they expect either side, or anyone else, to respect them.

ToeToToe · 15/05/2018 18:35

Actually, two different women's names have been reported in the press - Lian, and Nicola (I think ? - the name of one of the mothers of the children he murdered - so goady as fuck) - so to call him Ian would be the most sensible thing.

ToeToToe · 15/05/2018 18:32

I don't think Ian Huntley has publicly declared any preferred pronouns - and since he is in prison for the murder of 2 young girls, and unlikely to ever get out - I think it's correct to call him, "him".

I mean - MNHQ wouldn't put the (potential) feelings of a convicted child murderer (who is hardly going to be on MN in his secure prison) above the women - the mothers - who are posting here, surely?

TERFragetteCity · 15/05/2018 18:27

Can I just clarify this? My post will be deleted if I refer to a man as a man (he/him/his) if that man identifies as a woman?

If it is Pippa/Phil Bunce it depends on when you typed it and you will have to reconcile that with which was he/she was identifying and if they do not correlate, then it is off with your head madam.

BetsyM00 · 15/05/2018 18:25

Apparently not Terfulike. I reported your posts too.

And there we have it. We are not allowed to non-preferred pronouns for Ian Huntley. Apart from the fact that I don't know how we can even be expected to know the preferred pronouns - WTF!!!

Popchyk · 15/05/2018 18:24

These outstanding offences occurred between 2007 and 2012. And given that Gary was convicted in both 2011 and 2012 for separate offences, then it must have been Gary (and not Carrie) who allegedly committed the outstanding offences. Be interesting to see how they refer to this person in court.

Speaking of which, I don't understand the timeline of the previous offences. The offences for which this person is awaiting trial are:

"Carrie Cooper, formerly known as Gary Cooper, faces one charge of sexual touching and ten counts of sexual activity with a child under the age of 13 years old in Hertford between March 2007 and March 2012."

Gary Cooper was convicted of the rape of the 12 year old on September 27, 2011. He was jailed for 14 years for a series of offences including that rape.

But somehow managed to have alleged sexual contact with yet another child up to March 2012. Despite presumably being in jail for the previous offences at the time. Which is rather worrying.
