They said "Mumsnet you left us no choice"

I think you are supposed to hang your heads in shame Grin

I still haven’t forgiven SW. He was doing a grand job reminiscing about how good girl guides was for girls, and an important single sex space, even for him as a former queen’s guide. Until he started reminiscing about shagging scouts at camp and refusing to acknowledge that bunking up girls with male bodied teens wasn’t de rigueur. For a girl that went through an unremarkable girlhood and young womanhood, and enjoyed the single sex spaces available to her, he was pretty adamant that no other girl should be extended that privilege. Gah.

Mansnet should do it.

The TRA lobby are exploitingvthe fact that you guys want to be nice, to be fair and to be decent. They’re seeing a way in and they want to shut you down. They will not give up - you understand that right? Nothing you do short of never ever mentioning anything female ever again will be good enough. They are like the ultimate male abuser. You can tiptoe round and look pretty and keep the house nice but it’ll never be enough. No matter what you do, or how many people or posts you mod, they will keep on at you.

Excellent analogy Bowl. That is exactly the situation. Unfortunately, like many DV victims in the early days, it is all self-monitoring and self-blame, not actually realising that nothing will ever be enough to get on his right side. And maybe a few Not My Nigels thrown in, to help with avoiding the reality.

Double dare you, SuperMatch. Stephen Whittle found out very quickly how poorly a disregard for the safety of children goes over on a parenting board.

Amalfimamma · 07/05/2018 22:59

'AIBU to think that if a parent decides it's in the best interests of their child to have cross-sex hormones and surgery before the ages the NHS considers appropriate it's nobody else's business if they go abroad?'
Knowing aibu that's a thread that would go on for at least 4 threads and fireworks in every post

I don't think it is my business particularly. Ask the family, or the police, or the CPS.

Child welfare is everybody's business.

We're on MN. Vanishingly few people anywhere on this site will agree that a child's welfare is none of their business even if they are on your side of the gender debate or even if they haven't realised there is a gender debate.

'AIBU to think that if a parent decides it's in the best interests of their child to have cross-sex hormones and surgery before the ages the NHS considers appropriate it's nobody else's business if they go abroad?'

Go on. I dare you.

TERFragetteCity · 07/05/2018 22:25

Would a name change appease them? TransandCisParentsnet?

Mansnet should do it.

Greymisty · 07/05/2018 22:23

I've had my first deletion Blush didnt even involve swearing....

OlennasWimple · 07/05/2018 22:13

Oh excellent, I might even bother to join Twitter to report instances of real, actual transphobia. I'm also looking forward to them venturing onto 4Chan to complain about transphobia and telling Kiwifarms that they have a problem with hate speech

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 07/05/2018 22:09

Rufustheragingreindeer would be good

Yes it would

And to be fair its a lot shorter than the ones i was coming up with

thebewilderness · 07/05/2018 22:04

Rufustheragingreindeer would be good.
Are they mad that we don't use the Biscuit trollhouse biscuit?

AngryAttackKittens · 07/05/2018 21:50

Are the sex symbols on the stick people's heads meant to represent gendered brains? Why are they all different colors?

If I saw someone walking around with a circle with bits sticking out of it on their head I'd be concerned. Like they got their head stuck in a goldfish bowl.

Amalfimamma · 07/05/2018 21:47

Ah bless, see they DO listen to us

I'm still Shock at that particular modding decision so it does come up in my posting sometimes.

meh when someone has made a mistake (which MNHQ most assuredly did in that case), they should be big enough to accept pisstaking. I'm sure MNHQ are.

Loving the new names, but I might need to get a laptop screen extension to fit the whole name on screen.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 07/05/2018 21:18

reluctant

Just hope MNHQ thinks its ok Sad

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 07/05/2018 21:17

AngryAttackKittens · 07/05/2018 21:14

Could change my name to say angry 8 times but that seems like a lot of work to type out.

(Is lazy)

ReluctantCamper · 07/05/2018 21:13

don't worry Rufus, I think if posts that say 'yawn' and 'bless' are going to get deleted then a little light ribbing is in order. I think MNHQ are big enough to take it.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 07/05/2018 21:13

Angry8 Grin

angry obviously

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 07/05/2018 21:13

*angry8

Or rufusthefuckingfuriousreindeer

That might be good

Or rufusthebeyondfuckingfuriousreindeer

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 07/05/2018 21:11

I know MNHQ are under attack at the moment and I honestly think they do an awesome job under difficult conditions (usually)

But I'm not going to be able to be the bigger person and forget about the 'yawn' deletion

I'm just not strong enough Sad

And i just don't want to

So sorry and heart felt Thanks from me if you are reading

(Please dont delete me...ive been everso good)

AngryAttackKittens · 07/05/2018 21:11

Maybe if you called yourself the baking reindeer that would be suitably ladylike?
