Would take a bet that the Housekeeping boards will be left alone though

That can be the board we stage a rebellion in then! Innocuous post titles such as 'How often should I replace my toilet brush?' then fill them with feminist discussion. Grin

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 08/05/2018 09:35

Well it was obvious where that was going. The fuckers want total capitulation from @MNHQ and to have mumsnet reduced to threads about chestfeeding and menstruators and prams. And women telling TIMs how 'cute' they look on Style & Beauty.

Not going to happen.

Would take a bet that the Housekeeping boards will be left alone though

Have you seen their posts this morning? They're now demanding that MNHQ go and remove every single post or thread that doesn't meet the tough new guidelines they want them to set.

They're also inviting additional people to join them in monitoring and reporting offensive posts.

I can't seem to get the old Woody Guthrie song "Vigilante Man" out of my head this morning. (Ry Cooder version.)

LangCleg · 08/05/2018 09:26

MN walked right into that one, didn't they?

Basically put out a clarion call to all Twitter monomaniacs.

CuntinuousMingeprovement · 08/05/2018 09:24

Can you link the tweet eresh?

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3242812--Amnesty-International-Mermaids-and-Stonewall-have-signed-an-open-letter-to-Penny-Mordaunt-stating-the-importance-of-reforming-the-Gender-Recognition-Act

from yesterday's Pink News exclusive.

In the open letter, the groups have highlighted the “humiliating” process the current law requires to change the gender on legal documents, as well as pointing out that transgender people face discrimination and abuse that remains unchallenged while the government delays the review.

“The longer this delay goes on, the longer abusive invective is allowed to continue unchallenged by a government who rightly pride themselves on robustly speaking up for its minority citizens,” the letter states....." continues

Last week's announcement:
www.thetimes.co.uk/article/sam-gyimah-crackdown-on-students-silencing-free-speech-x28jx85fc

"Students will be banned from refusing speakers a platform at their universities under the first government intervention on free speech on campus for 30 years.

Sam Gyimah, the universities minister, will announce tough guidance on the issue at a meeting today, calling attempts to silence debate “chilling”.

it is all self-monitoring and self-blame, not actually realising that nothing will ever be enough to get on his right side.

The way to deal with people like this is to stop walking on eggshells and hoping they will leave off, or be nice, and just walk out the door and get a non mol slapped on them.

They won't ever stop. Their aim is destruction of your business MNHQ. If you zapped all the feminist boards today they'd still keep coming after you until all that’s left is prams and kittens and grovelling servitude. theybdo not want toncompromisievthey want to destroy you.

I think you need a mindset shift from trying to broker some kind of compromise to some sort of more Gloria gaynor based stance, because if I’d built up a business like this, I wouldn’t be compromising. I’d be telling them that hate speech of all types is covered under the guidelines, and their current actions amounted to harassment

Yes. Yes it would.

Frontholers.net has a ring to it but i suspect it's already taken by the dark web
I think it would confuse golfers.

Ereshkigal · 08/05/2018 01:07

I don't think it is my business particularly. Ask the family, or the police, or the CPS.

As I said, you don't understand what child safeguarding is, do you?

Bowl's right, they'll never stop. The worst they can do is post hateful things about trans people to pretend it's from feminists.

Amalfimamma · 07/05/2018 23:44

Parent1net

They did try here to change school admission forms to "Parent one and parent two" here a few years ago.

No school enforced it and those few schools that did saw their admissions forms changed to read mother and father again.

They have also tried to introduce gender studies from preschool but that was also blocked and they now have to have written permission from the child's parents that the child can attend such classes.
Thankfully most parents say no.

But
We also have had the first MTF mp in Europe (we have a proportional vote). Said mp tried to write of a blob job as mp expenses and has repeating said in public that they have no desire to go the full hog regards surgery.

SupermatchGame · 07/05/2018 23:42

I don't have a disregard for the safety of children. I've not said anything that could even be interpreted as that. If this particular individual case is everybody's business including yours I assume you've taken steps to involve the appropriate authorities?

And don't try to get me into trouble on AIBU thanks. Particularly as it's gone sooo well on here. Shock

SW makes my flesh creep. Someone described them up thread of being 'ice cold' about women and girls' rights - i thought it very apt.
