I’m struggling to understand how someone could be in police/legal trouble for essentially repeating something that another person had already put out as fact into the public domain?

Totally with Posie, but I do think that a prosecution and public trial would blow open the whole Mermaids fantasy-illusion-cult and expose it for what it is. Wouldn't wish prosecution on you, Posie, but when you're vindicated and everyone's running away from Mermaids as fast as they ran away from Camilla Batmanghelidjh then I hope it would seem worth it.

We are going to see a lot of this crap unfortunately but eventually I think Mermaids will go the way of Kids Company.

When the police told me the cps had decided not to proceed they didn't say why but instead issued a "you're being watched" warning. More sinister than Greens complaint if you ask me.

Now I learn that CPS says lack of evidence and Green has asked for a review/appeal which is happening.

It's really important ime not to go down the rabbit holes of their making e.g. malicious communication, but to use the appropriate measured, legal terms for their actions. Their behaviour speaks volumes and it's that we need to focus upon not what they are falsely accusing us and others of. Because as we all know with abusers, they cry wolf and falsely accuse others of what they are doing themselves.

What we need to do is keep a detailed diary of all their harassment plus evidence - screenshots, dates, times etc in order to make the case of organised crime plus the pattern of it. It's important to remember we have done nothing wrong here - despite the character smear attempts and the use of vexatious reporting to law enforcement - on social media as in real life - they know the mods / police will err on the side of caution ahead of any legal precedent - bring on the legal action I say.

Vexatious litigation is legal action which is brought, regardless of its merits, solely to harass or subdue an adversary. It may take the form of a primary frivolous lawsuit or may be the repetitive, burdensome, and unwarranted filing of meritless motions in a matter which is otherwise a meritorious cause of action. Filing vexatious litigation is considered an abuse of the judicial process and may result in sanctions against the offender.

It is important Posie/Linda to remind the CPS/police that this is the latest in a pattern of vexatious complaints with ulterior motives i.e. to silence women speaking out about their safeguarding concerns. This is the MO of serious abusers. It is also organised crime:

(1)A person who participates in the criminal activities of an organised crime group commits an offence.
(2)For this purpose, a person participates in the criminal activities of an organised crime group if the person takes part in any activities that the person knows or reasonably suspects—

(3)“Criminal activities” are activities within subsection (4) or (5) that are carried on with a view to obtaining (directly or indirectly) any gain or benefit.

Someone/group needs to bring a prosecution for organised crime against the TRAs.The evidence are the unrelenting threats, harassment and assaults re preventing lawful meetings and intimidating women plus now using the police to bully by proxy.

I support Posie and am in awe of her poised, articulate and courageous response to the persecution she has faced.

I think it would be good if we start reporting TRAs for vexatious reporting. What with Linda Bellos and now someone is thinking of doing the same with Ann Sinnot - this is clearly not in the spirit of a free democracy.

False allegation of hate crimes need to be recognised as harassment and prosecuted as such.

Yes if it went to court, I suspect they’d do a McLibel. McDonalds and their lawyers couldnt see that theyd have been much wiser to keep quiet and let the story slip into obscurity. Instead all of their dirty laundry was aired in public for years on end,. The extremists in this debate wont know when to shut up either.
