As the last one filled up, right when the owner of the Twitter account responsible for at least two MNers being harassed and one receiving death threats and hopes that her unborn baby would be stillborn

Loving the Mancunian candidate Grin

TerfinUSA · 05/05/2018 19:22

I can't believe my Shon Faye doppelganger got deleted.

DarthArts · 05/05/2018 17:29

Who is this Spineless Fucker you're all talking about?

R0wantrees · 05/05/2018 15:49

The issue of transmisogyny, which I understand is the 'privilege' of those people who identify as trans men (so born female?) over trans women was also a key point within some NUS discussions/policies (?)

It comes up in the discussion of NUStrans 18

Alarming rates of violence for trans people in the UK. I genuinely hope thats not true, and I don't think it is either.

What on earth is with the kicking off about no trans people in the media? Given selfID is desirable, how does Shon know there are no trans people in the media (ignoring the trans people we know are in the media)? Anyone could be trans, as all they have to do is say so. Also apparently many trans people are stealth and pass 100%. So again, how does Shon know that there are none? Finally, if 'transwomen are women'...there are many women in the media. Not as many as there are men mind you, but plenty.

Its just ridiculous.

Ereshkigal · 05/05/2018 12:09

don't understand what Shon's objection is.

I feel Shon is being somewhat disingenuous.

LangCleg · 05/05/2018 12:04

I think it's because they want to talk about access to female spaces. So it would be more relevant to have a male transactivist on the opposite side.

I mean, isn't this obvious? I don't understand what Shon's objection is. There are so many internal contradictions in this ideology, adherents are forever tying themselves into knots.

Ereshkigal · 05/05/2018 11:57

SF thinks it's because they wanted to pitch a transwoman against evilterfs. Most likely it's a sign that trans men don't have much status - not in the TRA movement and not in the media.

NotTerfNorCis · 05/05/2018 11:24

I wonder why they did want a trans woman and not a trans man?

@NotTerfNorCis

"Okay so the organisers wanted a transwoman and not a transman, and you see this as prejudice against transwomen? I'm guessing if they'd wanted a transman, you'd be just as fuming?"

I wonder why they did want a trans woman and not a trans man?

BeyondParody · 05/05/2018 10:46

I'll repeat - as he said it again this morning - DH is still under the impression we are talking about Sinn Fein

spontaneousgiventime · 05/05/2018 10:15

SF is a legend - in SF's head. No-one knows who SF is.

BeyondParody · 05/05/2018 10:06

Best slip ever Grin

Ereshkigal · 05/05/2018 10:03

I loved the slip Grin

Amalfimamma · 05/05/2018 10:03

@BeyondParody

I will go no further in my internal assessment or neither shon nor Paris as to avoid hurting their feelz.

Because we all know their feelz are more important than anything else. If shon hadn't blocked me on Twitter (despite never actually interacting with him) he'd know first-hand what I think of him 😇

Pratchet · 05/05/2018 10:01

Lol manchurian I mean

Pratchet · 05/05/2018 10:00

Beyond: I'd go with Mancunian candidate.

BeyondParody · 05/05/2018 09:57

"Shon is basically the trans George Osborne, posh as they come, whereas Paris is working-class, served time in prison."

Does that make Paris Lees the trans Tony Adams?

Ereshkigal · 05/05/2018 09:56

LOL! But true. That's why Shon writes word salads about shifting constellations and Paris goes Yay! Got wolf whistled by a builder and his bum!

YY!

BeyondParody · 05/05/2018 09:53

Well, Amal, if we're commenting on inside as well as out, it's probably best not to say what we think or it will be deleted as a PA (which always used to mean attacking a poster on the thread. I miss those days)

LangCleg · 05/05/2018 09:30

I think it's the same class issue at play in whether you see swearing as gendered or not. I'm working class and I swear like a trooper without regard to gendered etymologies or the gender of the person about or to whom I'm swearing. Half the time I'm using the swear words as terms of endearment anyway. I sometimes get into trouble with radfems, as well as TRAs, when swearing.

Amalfimamma · 05/05/2018 09:25

Shame really, as shon is much prettier than Paris
Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

I think they're both ugly inside and out

Paris was abused as a teenager before going to jail for that awful crime. A LOT of homophobia in PL's background.

TerfinUSA · 05/05/2018 09:21

Shon is basically the trans George Osborne, posh as they come, whereas Paris is working-class, served time in prison.

Different worlds.
