MNHQ Deletion Policy

TheUterati · 30/04/2018 17:03

Earlier today the Trans Park Run thread was deleted in its entirety because SOME posts alleging cheating were deemed to be 'not in the spirit' of MN.

We have a thread about that running.

I have just been deleted on the Heather Peto thread for posting this:

"Bless..."

A post intended to be mildly dismissive.

That was deleted for breaking talk guidelines.

Give me a fucking break MNHQ.

"Bless..." gets a deletion!??!?!

TRA really have got you on a short chain, haven't they?

People have been accused of cheating on AIBU hundreds of times.
Yet never a deletion.

Thanks for your post, truscum, good to hear your view on the whole issue.

Truscum · 30/04/2018 23:13

You're the wrong kind of trans person, Tru

And proud of it Grin👍

ReluctantCamper · 30/04/2018 23:13

yeah, I'm properly tired. but if the deletion fairy comes I don't want to miss it. does she only visit when you're awake?

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 30/04/2018 23:13

I agree with everyone else tru

My friends child feels very similar...whatever works for you

Pratchet · 30/04/2018 23:13

Truscum: diesntbyour post show how harmful transgenderism is for people with serious dysphoria? How can help be made available when there is a move to force normalisation through all official channels? I heard a Radio 4 piece about a child who needed mental health support. Being told he was trans by kids at school, he told his mum and they went to the doctor. But because of the magic word 'gender' they were not offered any mental health support at all*.

ReluctantCamper · 30/04/2018 23:12

crikey Truscum, don't you be taking responsibility for this mess. You did what you needed to to get through. that's all any of us do.

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 30/04/2018 23:12

Have the deletions eased off?

Now im more worried...its too calm

And i need to go to bed

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 30/04/2018 23:12

Tru I can completely feel what you are saying. It is not your fault that people with an agenda appropriated your condition and ran with it.

AngryAttackKittens · 30/04/2018 23:10

Not a single post that Supermatch has made has been "in the spirit". Was the one with the implied threat of legal action deleted, or is it fine to threaten people as long as you feel terribly self-righteous about it?

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 30/04/2018 23:10

AnitaLovesVictor Fucking YES to everything you just wrote in that post! 👏

SophoclesTheFox · 30/04/2018 23:09

tru Flowers

Not a ramble at all. Very eloquent.

Ereshkigal · 30/04/2018 23:08

I'm sure people find it very triggering. I find the sentence 'trans'women are women' deeply offensive and triggering. Are you going to stop? I doubt it.

Me too.

ReluctantCamper · 30/04/2018 23:08

I've said it before - Mumsnet is not my safe space. I don't need to be kept safe from opposing opinions. I'm pretty pleased that I won't encounter any rape threats here, that's nice, but that's pretty much the only limit I have.

So I'm mystified by those screaming 'transphobia'. Genuinely. Be more specific.

Pratchet · 30/04/2018 23:08

I thought you'd all know. Like Norman Stanley Fletcher telling Godber how to hide his ping pong balls.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 30/04/2018 23:07

no. no echo chamber wanted. but people who are capable of debate, who don't want to shut people up, demand compliance. those people are welcome.

Exactly I just want a space free of domination by the penis born and their handmaidens - open to all apart from the wilfully dominating penis-born and their handmaidens.

Ereshkigal · 30/04/2018 23:07

Truscum Thanks

SophoclesTheFox · 30/04/2018 23:07

It's academic anyway. You just couldn't manage it

Well, that is quite the interesting post.

Lots to parse from that.

Is that "in the spirit"?

This thread is surely going to poooouuuuffff any minute.

Truscum · 30/04/2018 23:07

Those who have had total surgery, no longer have one? Can you not see that saying they're still a bloke is transphobic?

I can’t help but to feel partly to blame when I read things like this. Obviously, not just me alone, but I feel like by being as I am it has enabled crack pot views like this to flourish.

I hated my own body fiercely, I wanted it to be different, not like mine anymore. This was/is a mental health problem, which I’ve come to understand was more to do with abuse suffered as a child than any ‘innate’ feeling of being a woman. I felt happy when friends wanted to refer to me as ‘she’ etc. (I didn’t request it, but I liked it) as it made me feel even more distant to who I really was. But I am uncomfortable with this now, as it has contributed to a situation in society which has/will leave women vulnerable.

It is not transphobic to say that I am still male, despite ‘no longer having one’. It is the truth. Anyone who has ever said otherwise to me was doing so out of a (misguided now in hindsight) kindness. The same way that you’d maybe tell a child their singing was lovely, even if it wasn’t.

I no sooner know what it is to ‘be’ a woman than I know what it is to be Nigerian. I wanted ‘different’ and mimicked what I saw as different.

I think this is why children with autism are increasingly (in alarming numbers) being swept up in this damaging ideology. They don’t know what being the other sex feels like, all they know is that they don’t feel comfortable in their own skin.

Sorry, that was a ramble and a half (after work drinks)

Angry I do hope you don’t go but I can understand if you need a break Flowers

Red I’m infuriated for you Flowers

Hateloggingin · 30/04/2018 23:06

IWill - I think my post ended with ‘your child will never be a biological woman’, no idea about Cotes it was deleted before I read it.

I wasn’t trying to attack your child at all, I was trying to state a fact. If your child is white but feels black would you expect everyone to agree they are black (against the evidence of their eyes/genetics)? They can be a trans woman but they can’t be a woman. I would use their preferred pronoun to be polite but I’m not going to pretend they are biologically female.

Your comments around them being ‘more womanly’ and their friends ‘being jealous’, worry me too, they’re just so sexist. If people weren’t so hung up on gender then surely less would need to transition?

AngryAttackKittens · 30/04/2018 23:06

Seriously, HQ, try this sort of language policing in AIBU, just once, see how it goes.

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 30/04/2018 23:06

refuse

They will be starring cunt next

No swear word is safe Sad

Pratchet · 30/04/2018 23:05

ReluctantCamper · 30/04/2018 23:05

I'm fucking outraged Rufus. It's a fucking, cunting liberty refuse.
