MNHQ Deletion Policy

TheUterati · 30/04/2018 17:03

Earlier today the Trans Park Run thread was deleted in its entirety because SOME posts alleging cheating were deemed to be 'not in the spirit' of MN.

We have a thread about that running.

I have just been deleted on the Heather Peto thread for posting this:

"Bless..."

A post intended to be mildly dismissive.

That was deleted for breaking talk guidelines.

Give me a fucking break MNHQ.

"Bless..." gets a deletion!??!?!

TRA really have got you on a short chain, haven't they?

I cannot see the medical profession grouping transwomen with women.

Royal College of Psychiatrists Good Practice Guidelines:
"Once a Gender Regulation [sic] Certificate has been issued, the applicant must, in accordance with the provisions of that certificate, be identified as a man or a woman and not a ‘trans man’ or ‘trans woman’.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/04/2018 23:46

Ach, I have to go to sleep now.

Me too.

Truscum · 30/04/2018 23:46

AngryAttackKittens cats seem to have about as much respect for boundaries as TRA’s do!

CoteDAzur · 30/04/2018 23:45

Supermatch - re "I was giving a reason why it's not ok to say some of the things you've said such as "trans women are not women/ female"... because it goes against the legal position."

I already answered this dowthread.

"Legal position" is that everyone under 16 years of age is a child. That doesn't mean a post-pubertal fully-developed 15-year-old is actually biologically a child. It just means she is considered one in the eyes of the law.

It is not against the law to say that person is a young adult and not a child, despite what "legal position" says.

As I said downthread and you obviously didn't understand, you need to make the distinction between what is legally accepted and what is actually true.

Truscum · 30/04/2018 23:45

FermatsTheorem 😂

AngryAttackKittens · 30/04/2018 23:44

My old cat once fell in the bath with me, Truscum. I did try to tell him that my stomach and shoulders didn't identify as perfect for shredding but for some reason he just wouldn't listen.

TERFragetteCity · 30/04/2018 23:42

It's like MNHQ had an awayday and left an intern in charge...of the delete post button but not the delete thread button.

FermatsTheorem · 30/04/2018 23:42

Your cat would probably decide that her claws self-ID-ed as "lovely massage devices, Tru and massage whatever your lower limbs were now identifying as. Cats are Machiavellian that way.

Truscum · 30/04/2018 23:40

My cat would scratch my eyes out if I ever dared to shake a lead at her while cooing ‘WALKIES!’

Hmm. I wonder if I could get it written into law that my legs no longer legally identify as scratching posts.

Ereshkigal · 30/04/2018 23:39

Seen through you though, eh?

Please do elaborate.

SophoclesTheFox · 30/04/2018 23:39

Ach, I have to go to sleep now.

Have to be up in so very few hours. Sigh.

LangCleg · 30/04/2018 23:39

Surely nobody - on either side, no matter how malicious or infuriated - is reporting single word posts like bless or yawn? That has to be a mod decision because they've decided to through a whole thread? Please tell me nobody is pressing report on bless?!

AngryAttackKittens · 30/04/2018 23:39

I love the constant "I know you are but what am I??!!!"

It's like a time capsule. Any moment know someone is going to appear wearing super low rise jeans and Ugg boots.

thebewilderness · 30/04/2018 23:37

Shorter SMG: "Corporations are people, my friends."

UrsulaPandress · 30/04/2018 23:37

Where the fuck is Spartacus when you need him her.

AngryAttackKittens · 30/04/2018 23:36

If the law declared my cat a dog tomorrow I'd still know she was a cat. the government might have the power to force me to make her wear a leash, but good luck getting her to walk on it in any direction she doesn't feel like, because cat.

SophoclesTheFox · 30/04/2018 23:35

Would you like us to believe that you have access to reports, SMG?

Do you?

Care to enlighten us?

Or do you prefer to just make vague, mildly threatening posts then deny all knowledge of what you're doing?

Arf! Subtle as a brick! Bring your a-game at least.

SupermatchGame · 30/04/2018 23:34

Seen through you though, eh?

Ereshkigal · 30/04/2018 23:34

if the acquired gender is the male gender, the person’s sex becomes that of a man and, if it is the female gender, the person’s sex becomes that of a woman."

The fact that there are exemptions to both the EA and the GRA means that the law acknowledges that they have not actually changed sex and are biologically male. A point I keep on reminding you of.

paxillin · 30/04/2018 23:34

The law and most of the medical profession disagree that trans women are "men pretending to be women".

The law might. I cannot see the medical profession grouping transwomen with women.

There is of course the earlier deleted definition of “female”; of the or denoting the sex capable of producing the larger gamete. There is another, genetic, definition; mammalian females are homogametic; they have two X chromosomes. Thirdly, there is the female phenotype; including female external and internal reproductive organs, and of course the different sex hormones.

The only medical transition that transwomen undergoes is cosmetic and hormonal, the external sexual organs are altered to resemble a female phenotype. The medical profession will not view this patient as biologically female.

Truscum · 30/04/2018 23:34

I’m fine I’m a tad too tipsy to get too upset today Grin

Rufus I think, for the good of the country, that you should get some sort of caffeine drip set up. 😂

AngryAttackKittens · 30/04/2018 23:33

Ring a ding ding.

Not sure if this is a poor attempt at humor or you're attempting to make music? Either way, baffling.

And yeah, what Sophocles said. You showed us who you were and now we believe you.

AnitaLovesVictor · 30/04/2018 23:33

Pratchet you would argue black is white if you could.

The fucking irony of that.

My mum used to say that to me all the time. Funnily enough, she never used it in the context of "men cannot become women" - because that's obvious isn't it?

Having the law legally recognise the transitioning of some men to transwomen, and having the law say they are legally women - does not mean men can actually become women. Because biology. "Adult human female."

thebewilderness · 30/04/2018 23:32

Note Supermatch that I did not report that comment! So, high road and all that. The threat was in the comment where you oh so subtly hinted that perhaps saying that trans women are male might be against the law? And what about the Equalities Act? And perhaps we could discuss?
Which you will no doubt claim was not a threat (pull the other one, mate, it's got bells on).

Not to worry SMG, the mods have your devious back unless you make a direct insult. They don't see through you yet. They will be embarrassed when they do.

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 30/04/2018 23:32

Nah im giving up angry

Too tired

Apologies for any damage the crater does

Nobody get themselves banned
