MNHQ Deletion Policy

TheUterati · 30/04/2018 17:03

Earlier today the Trans Park Run thread was deleted in its entirety because SOME posts alleging cheating were deemed to be 'not in the spirit' of MN.

We have a thread about that running.

I have just been deleted on the Heather Peto thread for posting this:

"Bless..."

A post intended to be mildly dismissive.

That was deleted for breaking talk guidelines.

Give me a fucking break MNHQ.

"Bless..." gets a deletion!??!?!

TRA really have got you on a short chain, haven't they?

Have you any idea how many times I've been offended here, on MN?

Same here - when people talk about being 'judgy' about mums I want to throw my laptop across the room. I am deeply offended by people spending their time being judgemental about mothers who are probably struggling and making the best of things, doing a hugely complicated job, without training or a manual in a hostile environment without a day off for sickness and with chronic sleep deprivation. The lack of compassion sickens me.

thebewilderness · 01/05/2018 02:05

We need to talk about Cady calling the transexuals who comment here transphobic by Cady's definition of transphobia. I am not prepared to let that pass.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 01/05/2018 02:02

What if they have had surgery but don't have a GRC? Or have a GRC but don't look anything like a woman?

Exactly 'no true transwoman' and 'yuk - are you going to start looking at peoples genitals'...

Don't go there.

AnitaLovesVictor · 01/05/2018 01:59

Have you any idea how many times I've been offended here, on MN?

Stuff posted about sahm vs wohm for example. Offensive stuff on both sides. Whichever side you're on - that sort of criticism goes to the very core of a woman's identity. Why is that ok, but not what is said about gender identity?

Being offended is not an excuse to silence women and stifle debate.

Ereshkigal · 01/05/2018 01:58

There aren't all that many deletions on this thread actually and several are for "Iwillreportalltransphobicposts". How ironic.

thebewilderness · 01/05/2018 01:57

Clearly saying "Bless" was horrible transphobic and deleting it saved us all from the horrors of being exposed to transphobia and gave you the ability to claim that all deleted posts are transphobic.

I feel dirty after reading some of these gaslighting deceitful slime balls rolling down the hill at us. Like Red I need to take a break cuz the flashbacks are nasty.

AnitaLovesVictor · 01/05/2018 01:56

Well, I can't,can I, as that sort of stuff got deleted. As it's not OK.

MNHQ - all your deletions are playing into the hands of the authoritarian "you can't say that" brigade. Now we're being accused of saying stuff that hasn't been said on this thread - because it's "been deleted."

MNHQ just admitted to deleting a post saying "bless" fgs - and said that was heavy handed - the deletions on this thread are equally ridiculous. One was a dictionary definition of the word "woman".

Ereshkigal · 01/05/2018 01:53

No one said it.

CadyHeron · 01/05/2018 01:51

Point out where someone did that on this thread. Go on.

Well, I can't,can I, as that sort of stuff got deleted. As it's not OK.

AngryAttackKittens · 01/05/2018 01:50

What you're saying there, Cady, is that women (and it is only women) are not allowed to be rude, and only to one specific category of people. And that if women insist on being rude then it's perfectly reasonable that they not be allowed to speak at all.

Do you really not see how that might get people's backs up, in a feminist space?

"Rude" is not a crime.

LightofaSilveryMoon · 01/05/2018 01:49

@CadyHeron

No fully transitioned transwoman will ever be a biological woman, there's no disputing that.' Cos biology. No amount of surgery in the world will make you one of those.
It doesn't mean you should be referred to as "he" or refused to be acknowledged though.

So, you're starting to acknowledge that men cannot be women! Which is a recognition of reality.

So why are are you ordering women to tell lies and to pretend that men are women?

Born women are women, and born men are men. And women and girls, as a class, are in need of protective legislation because of male violence. This is a well-known fact. So - is this post an example of dangerous subversive and transphobic behaviour by a woman, that must be deleted by moderators?

Most of us here are just seeking women and girls' safety, security, privacy and dignity.

We don't care a damn how men choose to present themselves, so long as they do not try to threaten or silence us women, or invade the spaces where we expect privacy, safety and choice, free of penises.

Is that too much to ask? Really?

Ereshkigal · 01/05/2018 01:49

What if they have had surgery but don't have a GRC? Or have a GRC but don't look anything like a woman?

Ereshkigal · 01/05/2018 01:47

Totally denying the fact that they've fully transitioned, are legally recognised as a woman, look like a woman, etc, but still insist on calling them he and Dave or Steve or whatever.
Not OK.

Point out where someone did that on this thread. Go on. They're still male though whatever your arbitrary categories.

CadyHeron · 01/05/2018 01:46

Err... you just said on this thread that sort of talk is transphobia

That is what transphobic means though. Refusing to accept fully transitioned, full surgery, properly living as a woman for years as female and denying they exist and carry on saying they're male/a bloke.

Can you not see that it's not the same?
Saying a transitioned transwoman is not a biological woman. Truth. Cos biology.

Totally denying the fact that they've fully transitioned, are legally recognised as a woman, look like a woman, etc, but still insist on calling them he and Dave or Steve or whatever.
Not OK.

AnitaLovesVictor · 01/05/2018 01:45

I'm wondering if it's worse even than that, AAK. "Women, you may only discuss this using terms agreeable with the new gender ideology. Otherwise: deletion "

Thou shalt not blaspheme.

AnitaLovesVictor · 01/05/2018 01:41

I don't feel silenced.

I bet you don't - nobody is telling you that your posts will continue to be deleted.

You won't see all viewpoints, will you? Some poster's viewpoints are being deleted.

AngryAttackKittens · 01/05/2018 01:40

I'm disgusted with the way MNHQ is handling this. The idea that these issues can only be discussed if the women here agree to be perfect models of decorum, while individuals arguing the opposing viewpoint are given free reign to be as hostile, dishonest, and aggressive as they like, is everything that's wrong with the way girls are socialized written up as an official policy. Is it any wonder it's making some commenters break out in hives? I'm eternally grateful that my family didn't treat me like that as a child, and I'm not about to allow myself to be treated that way now just for the privilege of being permitted to post comments on a website that's dependent on advertising and therefore needs as many people as possible reading and commenting on it.

Mumsnet is not your employer, commenters, nor is it your parent. This is not an appropriate way for a site to communicate with its users, who are in fact the reason that it as a company is able to exist at all.

CoteDAzur · 01/05/2018 01:40

Cady - "I've made stating biological facts posts too. Woman - female, biological. Man - male, biological. You can't get past that. No fully transitioned transwoman will ever be a biological woman, there's no disputing that.'"

Err... you just said on this thread that sort of talk is transphobia Confused

CadyHeron........... Today 00:59
That is what transphobic means though. Refusing to accept fully transitioned, full surgery, properly living as a woman for years as female and denying they exist and carry on saying they're male/a bloke.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 01/05/2018 01:39

refused to be acknowledged though.

What does that mean - acknowledge what?

CadyHeron · 01/05/2018 01:34

Nobody is silencing you Cady - people are engaging with you.

I never said they were silencing me. I don't feel silenced.I know people are engaging. Seeing all viewpoints is good.

Ereshkigal · 01/05/2018 01:33

doesn't mean you should be referred to as "he" or refused to be acknowledged though.

You specifically said we weren't allowed to call a trans identified male male.

CadyHeron · 01/05/2018 01:31

I don't think so - you just told us we will continue to be deleted for stating biological facts. That is silencing.

If you cared to read my past posts, you'd see I've made stating biological facts posts too.
Woman - female, biological.
Man - male, biological.
You can't get past that. No fully transitioned transwoman will ever be a biological woman, there's no disputing that.' Cos biology. No amount of surgery in the world will make you one of those.
It doesn't mean you should be referred to as "he" or refused to be acknowledged though.

AnitaLovesVictor · 01/05/2018 01:31

The humphy face is probably because you're delighting in women's posts here being deleted, Cady Hmm

Nobody is silencing you Cady - people are engaging with you. How about if I changed my NN to "WillReportAllCadysPostsBecauseIDisagreeWithCady" - how would you feel? Attacked, maybe. Silenced, probably, if your posts were then deleted. That is what is happening to women here.

Free robust discussion is what MN used to be about.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 01/05/2018 01:26

I meant what I said.

Hmm

Your posts don't ring true.

CadyHeron · 01/05/2018 01:22

hmm

(is that emoji safe?)

What's that comment even supposed to mean? Why the humphy face?
I meant what I said.
