And lo, it came to pass that one of the (male) Bristol protesters has justified punching women who go against the Trans agenda (the same bloke who interrupted a Rees-Mogg speech and made him look a hero by saying he "wasn't worth" debating.

Please excuse the Guido article, but it at least shows that the Bristol aggression backfired as it's made some women MPs sit up.

And finally, as a male poster, there's just time to sign off with the obligatory NAMALT!

I don't know, with all this talk about inflicting upon those with the temerity to hold a different opinion, maybe it's time to put our trust in God(frey).

@LangCleg you beat me to it!

Wanderabout · 28/04/2018 17:19

Can anyone think of any other context in which someone could suggest punching a woman because she disagreed about party policy, and NOT have this roundly condemned by MPs and the party leadership?

Wanderabout · 28/04/2018 16:59

Good idea. There was also Botha who was pictured with Corbyn and "shockingly claimed it was justified to ‘thump’ Terfs – a derogatory term for feminists who do not recognise transsexual women as genuinely female."

I wanted to post the entire video of one of the same antifas as blocked women at the Jam Jar who also attacked ReesMogg earlier. He actually uses his woman friend as a shield reaching around her to punch the security guard, then she claims to RMogg that the guard hit her when he just brushed her face when sheilding the blow
. At the 1.57 mark

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.46
I'd be more libertarian if they hadn't asked about porn.

merrymouse · 28/04/2018 13:53

Does Corbyn ever seek to distance himself and the Labour Party from these thugs?

I think sometimes he tries to distance himself. I don’t think he feels responsible for the wider Labour Party - hence his half hearted management of the anti semitism issue.

link to Jen Izaakson's first hand account of of T. Wolf's recent trial which includes an interesting quote in the context of this discussion:

"Later that evening [after guilty verdict] Wolf posted a comment on Facebook saying that MacLachlan was “a man,” so therefore Wolf’s violence was “actually misandry.” Later that night he changed his Facebook name to “Tara The TERF Slayer.”

published yesterday in 'Feminist Current' & also includes background to the trial ,discussion of Class Wars , Sisters Uncut etc

Left Libertarian Blush

"It's ok to punch Nazis" becomes "It's ok to punch women"
Wanderabout · 28/04/2018 13:41

Where would someone who would thump a woman for talking about her rights sit?

Ereshkigal · 28/04/2018 13:38

What is sad about your answer is that wasn't my question. I knew the answer to calling out misogyny would be no. I was actually wondering if he sought to distance himself from the attack on Rees-Mog or is he happy other parliamentarians can be attacked by thugs speaking in his name?

Sorry, I misunderstood, based on the fact that the OP is about misogyny. No need to be sad about it. But no to your actual question too, AFAIK.

Left Libertarian overall based on these questions. If other questions had come up I probably would have been less so.

LassWiADelicateAir · 28/04/2018 13:34

Ereshkigal

I don't think so Lass. They won't admit to misogyny in Labour

LassWiADelicateAir · 28/04/2018 13:29

Economic Left right-3.13
Social libertarian/authoritarianism

that's probably right. As with others the porn question will have skewed it.

"It's ok to punch Nazis" becomes "It's ok to punch women"
LangCleg · 28/04/2018 13:21

has anyone filled this in hypothetically for anyone other than thatcher, hitler, stalin and gandhi?

If you go via the country links on the left, they've analysed quite a few elections, including US presidential elections which are obviously by person rather than party.

LangCleg · 28/04/2018 13:16

I haven't done it for ages but this is today's version:

Economic Left/Right: -9.0
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -8.51

LangCleg · 28/04/2018 13:12

Where is the party that cares about the vulnerable, uses evidence-based policy and stands for freedom of speech? I would dearly like to vote for them.

I'd sacrifice almost anything for one of those right now.

MargeH · 28/04/2018 13:12

Economic Left/Right: -2.0
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.87

That puts me pretty near the centre, which is what I would expect.

hipsterfun · 28/04/2018 13:06

Economic Left/Right: -8.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.56

I’m not as libertarian as I’d anticipated.
