A woman was thrown out of a FB feminist group for challenging the idea that transwomen get periods.

apparently they DO get periods just without the small aspect of bleeding.

She was told that she was minimising transwomen's periods.

Shitfuckpisswankcuntandbollocks. Datun got deleted!

ErrolTheDragon · 25/04/2018 22:44

Wash your mouth out with soap, Rufus. Equating Datun to the head of a patriarchal religion?Shock

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 25/04/2018 22:44

Alright...maybe the queen

I bet she swears

Datun · 25/04/2018 22:41

The pope is it? Bloody hell. I'm going to have to start in with a lot more swearing.

Sorry, fucking swearing.

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 25/04/2018 22:39

I've restrained myself from saying

The fucking pope

It felt wrong

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 25/04/2018 22:36

I know!!!

Its like deleting the pope!!!

LangCleg · 25/04/2018 22:36

Datun! Deleted! Sacrilege!

ErrolTheDragon · 25/04/2018 22:32

Or we're used to being 'misgendered' if we have a neutral title such as Dr, the default assumption being male. It's either a bit annoying or tedious or downright hilarious...I once had a misgendered BCP prescription. Men aren't accustomed to being accidentally misgendered because they're not the 'second sex'.

I think somewhere in Datuns post there was a 'he'. I'm not sure it was referring to a specific individual. It's a bit daft - 'bio male' is (quite rightly!) evidently ok but is more explicit than a pronoun.

Datun · 25/04/2018 22:28

Rufus! Wine

I don't think HQ make a habit of explaining themselves over deletions.

I probably said a male pronoun, it being fairly fundamental to the lack of menstruation and all.

As I mentioned to Rufus on another thread, it must be very difficult to interpret what to delete, when on the one hand, you allow the concept to be discussed, but on the other, not the actual words...

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 25/04/2018 22:25

Literally!!

thebewilderness · 25/04/2018 22:20

Deleting Datun is an act of violence!

thebewilderness · 25/04/2018 22:18

I wonder if one of the reasons we dismiss misgendering as an insult is because of women's history on the internet of courting misgendering with our user names so we are not verbally abused by men.
I didn't last two weeks using my name, Rose Grant, on the political blogs. I use the name of my house now and I am occasionally accused of being unmanly or a girly man on the political blogs, to the amusement of those in the know.

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 25/04/2018 22:18

I'm going to go away and calm down

HerFemaleness · 25/04/2018 22:18

Datun, you need to find out why you got deleted. The mystery is killing us.

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 25/04/2018 22:16

Nobody tell bewilderness to stop posting her rules of that thing beginning with M that I can't spell

It'll be fucking armaggedon

Thanksforthatamazingpost · 25/04/2018 22:16

“Deliberately using the wrong pronoun is an act of violence”

Bother I was hoping the writer would explain what this meant

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 25/04/2018 22:15

And ive just been lurking on this thread cos i though meh!!!

But someone deleted datun !!!!!!

Thats it....now I'm riled

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 25/04/2018 22:12

I am swearing A LOT tonight

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 25/04/2018 22:11

Reporting fatigue, constant hunger and increased irritability, the men spoke of symptoms that suggested their 'time of the month' is just as intrusive and inconvenient as the equivalent female process

What now!??!!??!?

Fuck off Angry

And i know that the article agrees by the end

But seriously...i will not be responsible for my fucking actions if some utter twat says that to me

Strawberry2017 · 25/04/2018 21:51

I usually avoid commenting on these poets but I've really had enough now.
It's almost like being a women is a dirty word now.
Adding Cis to the beginning - why? I didn't ask for a change in title
pregnant person not pregnant women
Chest feeding not breast feeding
And now to top it off your telling me someone born a man thinks they are having periods?

The world has gone mad.

I always say, be who you want and believe what you want but don't try and force your beliefs or change things for me. I'm happy as I am.

Datun · 25/04/2018 21:45

Oh sorry, that was to Ardant.

Datun · 25/04/2018 21:45

I don't think so.

I may not have even commented (as I've seen all that kind of tripe before) if a pp hadn't said it was unfair to express an opinion about it.

Not that I don't understand why they said that. Because it can look like one of those piss taking threads. But because it is, indeed, a fundamental aspect of the ideology which gets relentlessly brushed under the carpet by transactivists.

So if I ever feel even a hint of 'don't go there', it brings me out in hives and makes me type.

MIdgebabe · 25/04/2018 21:43

I can truthfully say that many things in life have felt like violence or threats or pushing boundaries. Rape to banter.

I have often had an incorrect pronoun used ( different cultures or people who younonly work with remotely) It felt nothing like violence or threat or even pushing boundaries. It didn't seem disrespectful even. At the worst I got huffy at the implied sterotype.

Melamin · 25/04/2018 21:41

As far as I can remember, it was a very good post (as usual) about needing the right language to describe our experience. Nothing that hasn't been posted before Confused
