This was an interesting read. It seems IW has taken to channeling Katie Hopkins. I'm not going to try and pull it apart as there is so so much wrong with it...

"I’m sure most people who use the site are decent folk. They want nothing to do with the rabid mouth-frothing going on by so-called “feminists.”"

Not hyperbole but transperbole.

("Transperbole" is noted in a comment on IW's Twitter. What a good word).

MrsWooster · 24/04/2018 18:56

Well that is a load of disingenuous old bollocks:
A pending court case where a trans woman claims self defence? A defendant tried and found guilty of assault on a feminist protestor.

A hate group in Bristol and a confrontation? Bullying of a legitimate feminist discussion.
All we want is to use the correct bathroom? Transwomen, realistically, DID use women's spaces out of a sort of pragmatic courtesy until self-id proposed that anyone could do so at will- not tw like IW et al who actually live as women but men who may or may not have any genuine desire to be or present as a woman but may definitely have a genuine desire to access women's safe spaces.

Don't blame the current clusterfuck on feminists, blame extremists who demand insane leaps of ill faith like biology doesn't exist. Maybe IW should have listened to IWs initial instinct on self-id and used their influence to maintain the rights of EVERYONE in this hellish mess.

Mumsnet: I came to discretely seek advice about DH's enlarged testicle. I stayed for the jackboots.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 24/04/2018 18:54

I agree Pop

They are trying to provoke a reaction.

Meh.

Many of us have been dealing with aggressive, entitled males on and off all our lives. They don't like it when we say no, or are indifferent to their demands.

I can only assume that India is a gender critial mole in deep cover.

Operation peak trans is proceeding according to schedule Wine

LadyMcLadyCrisps · 24/04/2018 18:51

Stoopid nazi women, stepping outside of discussing prams and M&S dresses. How very dare we, hey India? Has it shocked you to find there is more to women and womanhood than tired old stereotypes? offended are you? that we dont just massage our tits with our mates in changing rooms whilst giggling about glitter and shoes, that we must automatically be nazis?

Popchyk · 24/04/2018 18:49

The TRAs are clearly trying to provoke someone into doing something.

India is absolutely desperate for SOMETHING to happen. With India at the centre of it of course.

India would absolutely love Justine to sue India, so that India can play the victim (persecuted for speaking the truth), milk the chat show appearances, maybe a stint on I'm a Celebrity.

Because if you are reduced to cobbling together TRA Twitter word salad into an article for Pink News then your career is not stellar.

You can tell that they're annoyed that nobody is taking the bait.

We have this constant replaying of this Call To Arms Over Literal Genocide bullshit that everyone just ignores because they've heard it a thousand times before.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 24/04/2018 18:48

India is voicing the exact same views as some of the most active of TRA who have been saying similar things for some time.

India is doing the rounds and burning bridges behind them. Pissed off the women, pissed off the transsexuals, next going to piss off transactavists then will find a cosy place amongst the MRAs until India pisses them off too- where else?

Naive? she sounds deranged.

I would not want that individual speaking on my behalf.

Ceinwen2 · 24/04/2018 18:40

She is a bit naïve, really. She's only been I.W for about five minutes , so she's got a bit to learn. She opens her mouth and something ill considered pops out.

R0wantrees · 24/04/2018 18:40

& this is what Justine said (when able to get a word in) during the interview with Julia HB & India last week:

"I think the problem with this is that the trans lobby have confused an issue about people quite rightfully sticking up for the idea of hard won women's rights around....(interrupted but early JR said women's refuge and rape counselling as examples)

The upshot of the change to the legislation that's been asked for around self-identity, is that you are putting women, including transgender women quite frankly in vulnerable positions potentially.
We need to be able to discuss if we are changing legislation, and for very good reasons because I am totally in favour of recognition, equality and fair treatment of all individuals and letting them live how they live.
But we need to be able to discuss these competing rights and it needs to not just be shut down....and I'm afraid and to be honest India you've got to see the other point of view, you can't just plough on with the [position] 'our issue is the only important one''

AssassinatedBeauty · 24/04/2018 18:39

It's so bloody sexist to think that large numbers of women chatting online will only be discussing prams or family related issues. The fact that they're either unaware or happy to drop their sexism so casually into an article like this is telling.

ErrolTheDragon · 24/04/2018 18:37

There is quite a lot about prams, I guess IW was confused because both the topics dedicated to small-person conveyances are called 'Pushchairs'.

CardsforKittens · 24/04/2018 18:37

Is it bad that I find IW's casual sexism more annoying than being compared to fascists? I can shrug off a bit of offensive hyperbole but I'm irked at the patronising assumptions about what mothers talk about - with the accompanying subtext that we should refrain from serious discussion of policy and get back to the kitchen. Fuck that.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 24/04/2018 18:37

Ha ha Camper, I wonder if LesMills will start a new exercise class 'Body GooseStep'

ReluctantCamper · 24/04/2018 18:34

yeah, I mean I enjoy the insane AIBUs and the Christmas bargains, but what I really enjoy is the goosestepping. So good for the thighs.

BlackForestCake · 24/04/2018 18:32

What is it with the 'folk'?

Trans cultists like to use inclusive words like "folk" and "siblings" instead of gendered terms such as "men and women" or "brothers and sisters" because not everybody identifies as a man or a woman. Don't get what's wrong with "people", though.

Tinycitrus · 24/04/2018 18:29

Last week was my first ever visit to Mumsnet. Honestly, I thought it was going to be lots of stuff about prams, or family-related matters. A sort of online This Morning minus Phil and Holly. The reality is more like a Nuremberg Rally. It’s very scary.

Women! Know your limits!

Skatingfastonthinice · 24/04/2018 18:28

In the way that my sister fits most of the stereotypes of a feminine female, and is a strong feminist. So much more than our accessories.

LangCleg · 24/04/2018 18:26

I can't get wound up by this, they are ramping up the rhetoric because they know they have now cogent arguments except feelings.

Yep. All they have is narcissistic rage. And the more people they turn it on, the more people they turn off.

bd67th · 24/04/2018 18:25

@Skatingfastonthinice Yup, and it's this TRA definition of "woman" as a collection of stereotypes instead of a full human who happen to be female that is why I've become gender critical. I defy most feminine stereotypes: still a woman.
