Is feminism inherently sexist? Anybody for human rights anymore?

Feminism appears to only ever advocate for women's rights alone, even when we mention gender equality it is immediately presumed that it's an issue where women are in need of support and empowerment.
Is that not inherently sexist, solely focusing on the rights of only a subset of our species, why are we not advocating for human rights anymore?
There are at least 6 separate organisations where I work that advocate for gender equality and/or diversity and/or women's rights, and every one of them is focused on women's rights. Where I work females out perform and out number men, I don't understand how I'm suppose to be at an advantage because I'm a man, and there's not a single group I can go to for support as none of those groups are willing to offer me any of their services.
I'm all for human rights and consider myself an individualist where people should be awarded things on merit, but even when trying to pose questions in what should be a critical thinking environment I get branded a sexist and a misogynist. Without anyone acknowledging and critiquing my ideas, I'm personally attacked and disregarded, is that because I'm a man?

If I had a nickle for every time I had to tell a random d00d that Feminism is the political movement for the liberation of women.

Would you like to guess what we want to be liberated from? Go ahead!

I like dark chocolate and I like tea. So I bought some tea with pieces of dark chocolate in it thinking it would be great. It was just messy really. Disappointing.

Right well I'm off to demonstrate my commitment to tea rights and equality by enjoying a peppermint tea in bed. #something y'all...

NowtSalamander · 20/04/2018 00:37

Come on, melty kit Kat is clearly the way forward - choc tea biscuit, win win win.

Greymisty · 20/04/2018 00:37

I've just made hot chocolate. Sorry to the OP didnt mean to detail the thread with my beverage choice.

Strawberry ribena sounds fake....I know it's real and purchaseable but still...fake.

Antislut · 20/04/2018 00:36

No I'm pregnant, tea is my no go drink. I can taste the kettle just thinking about it.

AornisHades · 20/04/2018 00:36

You blimmin freak NK

Antislut · 20/04/2018 00:35

I stopped being a feminist because I heard the arguments from the other side. I watched a documentary called red pill or something like that and had a similar experience to the presenter. I realized I was blaming my problems on the wrong people and only I could fix them. 😁 Im all for feminism in the middle east and other areas of the globe where women haven't been emancipated. I'll be on that wagon all the way.

NKFell · 20/04/2018 00:34

I like strawberry Ribena...cold.

PleaseDontGoadTheToad · 20/04/2018 00:34

I'm fresh out of choco tea sadly Sad.

I do have some spice chai latte though.

AornisHades · 20/04/2018 00:34

It bloody was like warm Ribena. It was the Holy Grail of fruit tea. The box lasted a long time and I haven't replaced it :(
I need to put some effort in to finding it again.

PleaseDontGoadTheToad · 20/04/2018 00:33

Would you like some tea @Antislut? Smile

NKFell · 20/04/2018 00:33

Oh I might try Choco Tea...(my phone autocorrects to ‘Chico tea’ Grin)

Antislut · 20/04/2018 00:32

I was bowing out with my arguments. Not from the thread. I was trying to be cordial! 😂

NKFell · 20/04/2018 00:31

But antislut saying you would have been on the women’s suffrage side because you used to be a feminist sounds like you may have then regretted it. You just sound like you can’t see that women have some specific issues that need a women’s movement I.e feminism to try to fix it.

AornisHades · 20/04/2018 00:31

Oh fgs you said you were bowing out. Don't keep coming back. That's a bit daft.

PleaseDontGoadTheToad · 20/04/2018 00:29

Shock What kind of monster dips biscuits in tea?

PleaseDontGoadTheToad · 20/04/2018 00:29

This is the choco tea I drink. No idea if there are any other brands of choco/chocolate tea but I'm sure there are.

Antislut · 20/04/2018 00:28

What do you mean by that? Should i tow the party line that you're a feminist on MN. Seems like many of the feminists on here don't tow the party line when it comes to trans activists and you aren't happy when you get censored and defamed.

NowtSalamander · 20/04/2018 00:28

Don’t you just get chocolate tea if you dip your kit Kat a bit more slowly than usual?

Greymisty · 20/04/2018 00:27

*stretch not starch....starch would be silly

PleaseDontGoadTheToad · 20/04/2018 00:26

I'm new to mum's net

Clearly.

Antislut · 20/04/2018 00:26

I wouldn't have been on the anti suffragette side, I'd have been on the suffragette side, like I said I used to be a feminist. 🙈
