This tweet
“Some really vile views being spouted on twitter tonight. Such a shame. ‘When she was good she was very good indeed, but when she was bad she was horrid.’”
Seems to be about women discussing their issues with trans/self ID/free speech debate. Women know your place, and it certainly isn’t anywhere you can be heard!

And also here and all over his timeline.

He's changed his tune on women struggling with motherhood. Has his agent read him the riot act Hmm.

Battleax · 17/04/2018 15:31

Weasel.

mintich · 17/04/2018 15:24

Did he delete the tweet to the mother? He now has a pinned tweet saying more mothers shoukd speak out about not enjoying motherhood

Pratchet · 17/04/2018 12:12

Didn't Mock speak about their child / teen prostitution / abuse as 'empowering'?

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 17/04/2018 11:25

I hate misogynistic doctors more than anything in life. I think it's because women only see them when they need help and they should be supportive and kind, yet detest them. They KNOW the shit women go through because of biology and they still have contempt for us.

Yeah hate them and hate him.

CapnHaddock · 17/04/2018 11:00

You said 'often' with a fact which is damaging to Mock's reputation. I agree that there was a creative interpretation on that thread yesterday but posters apologised. So not 'often' in fact - once.

MrsDilber · 17/04/2018 10:25

I've really gone off him now.

LassWiADelicateAir · 17/04/2018 10:12

The "fact" that has stuck in my mind re Mock is the one I am referring to and which I learned about on this forum. Nasty things stick. Nothing hyperbolic about it. It made its appearance within 2 posts yesterday and has now been debunked.

CapnHaddock · 17/04/2018 09:28

Actually Lass - Mock has been mentioned 50 times (if you exclude this thread and the one about the interview in the Guardian) - mostly on threads about Mock speaking at the women's march in Washington and in reference to Mock referring to women as 'fish'. Which Mock did - repeatedly - in their book Redefining Realness.

Please leave off the hyperbole. It makes you look stupid and I know you're not.

Oblomov18 · 17/04/2018 09:19

"Gosh, what a charmer this one is."

Exactly. What a charmer he is! Hmm

lynmilne65 · 17/04/2018 09:17

No its a have a go thread

Eatmycheese · 17/04/2018 09:14

I must confess I find him so repellant and narcissistic that I immediately change tv channels, radio stations etc. I’ve escaped any of what sounds like his hateful, disingenuous, bloated gobshite views. About what I expected from someone who looks so utterly in love with himself 🤢

LassWiADelicateAir · 17/04/2018 09:14

I'm not on Twitter and I'm afraid I don't want to go wading through his tweets to locate it

Neither am I - another poster posted the link to the conversation. It didn't take very long to read and it did not say anything like what was being suggesting.

Janet Mock is an American trans woman and writer . She gets mentioned often on this forum and always with a "fact" which is very damaging to her reputation. There was a thread about her yesterday and it turns out that this "fact" is a very creative interpretation of what she actually said.

LassWiADelicateAir · 17/04/2018 09:04

I don't know who Janet Mock is, or what FWR is

FWR is the forum you are posting on.

CallingDannyBoy · 17/04/2018 08:09

Cheeto burrito - unfortunately not much has changed - Rochdale, Telford. The children weren’t charged but weren’t seen as blameless.

FencingFightingTorture35 · 17/04/2018 08:03

I think his point was that the age for criminal responsibility was too low not that the age of consent was too high.

I can't back it up at this point so probably best to drop this point but I am convinced there was more to the tweet than this. It ended up as a long spat with lots of tweets because people were so agog. He might well have since deleted his responses.

I'm not on Twitter and I'm afraid I don't want to go wading through his tweets to locate it. Shudder.

AnyFucker · 17/04/2018 07:46

Proper asshat that one. I once called him out on one of his womanhating comments on twitter and he blocked me

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 17/04/2018 07:39

I have disliked Christian for a rather long time now. I find him incredibly misogynistic and his attitudes to women and their issues, and his bullying of vulnerable women on twitter, extremely alarming.

WhereYouLeftIt You posted a twitter link to a tweet Dr Christian made about age of consent. In the comment thread, Tom Scott links to a wikipedia article about "The Maiden Tribute of Modern Babylon", which explains why the Victorians raised the age of consent. It's chilling

I can't find anything in that twitter thread suggesting anything other than the point he was making was that 10 was too low for children to be criminally responsible, not that age of consent was too high.

I noticed on the thread about Janet Mock that the "fact" invariably repeated on FWR when her name crops up turns out to be a very creative interpretation of what she actually said- is this the same?

Battleax · 17/04/2018 00:53

It’s always helpful to know who the arseholes ARE, of course.

LassWiADelicateAir · 17/04/2018 00:52

Any lawyers explain why age of consent is 16 (implied that too immature to consent if younger) but age of criminal responsibility is 10?!

I think his point was that the age for criminal responsibility was too low not that the age of consent was too high.

@SpringNowPlease2018 - they feel pity for TIMs. They think women are disgusting.

redshoeblueshoe · 16/04/2018 22:31

lyn - this is not a trans thread.
But if you're looking for one I'm sure we could point you in the right direction Grin
