what time do events typically finish? (lightweight here)

JoanSummers · 15/05/2018 09:58

Will do, thank you :)

Writersblock2 · 15/05/2018 07:36

We have a new graphic with Truro on. Please share widely. Contact your local Cllrs and ask them to come along to see what women in their area care about.

Pleased to announce we have made the location public. WPUK Cornwall is in Truro. Please share on your social media. It has great train and bus access for everyone to get to the event.

I think that is a good point Writers as for non drivers, transport links in Cornwall are very different to Bristol, Cardiff, Oxford etc. I am dead impressed that people are travelling so far.

Writersblock2 · 12/05/2018 10:27

@MrsUnderwood - darn it, I want in on that road trip!!! Serial killers!

Hi @JoanSummers - send me a pm and we can work something out. We are debating over releasing the area anyways as I suspect it’s putting some off.

I'd like to come but I don't know if I can organise transport, mainly because I don't know what part of Cornwall it is in. @Writersblock2 is there any way I can find out the general area so I can work it out?

MrsUnderwood · 12/05/2018 09:28

Me and my buddy are coming all the way from the South East to this. If there’s any feminists who don’t mind a 6 hour car journey with 2 salty broads you’ve never met who will probably talk about drag queens and serial killers for the entire journey, then DM me. I can pick you up on the coast route between Sussex and Cornwall.

Just shared fb again but I think I know a lot of non political ostriches.

Writersblock2 · 11/05/2018 20:57

We need more people! Come on, Cornwall! Who else wants to buy a ticket?

OP posts:
Writersblock2 · 08/05/2018 19:08

Definitely share! Everywhere! Devon pages too. We need to bump bump bump this!

Have shared on the local women's network as they didn't seem to know anthing about WPUk (or GRA or manFriday etc).

Share, share, share - most people don't know.

Ruth S speech from Wales is a really good quickish intro if people are up for watching a taster.

Just doing a little nudge to ask everyone to share on social media if they can - let's make this meeting a success!

OP posts:
Kenworthington · 03/05/2018 17:50

I’m going to!

DistaffSide · 03/05/2018 08:51

Ken Invite them along!

Kenworthington · 02/05/2018 18:28

I’ve just signed up for my local feminists group next meeting. I need to let my frustrations and general crossness out!

Writersblock2 · 02/05/2018 07:43

Thanks, wanderabout - hopefully loads will show up and the event will be a success!!

Definitely go if you can!

I went to a WPUK event, travelled two hours to get there and back again. It was so worth it!

Met some amazing people, including transwomen. Everyone who spoke or who I spoke to were really caring, thoughtful and passionate people.

I was a bit scared of the idea of protesters but they were just students chanting.

Definitdly go if you can, and take your friends!

pickledparsnip · 01/05/2018 08:09

Thanks Writersblock2. I think my friends fall into two camps, either "live and let live. It's all bollocks, just be whatever you want to be" and "anyone who doesn't support (ie anyone who questions) trans rights 100% is an evil terf."
It'll be interesting.....
(still trying to muster up the courage to share).

I live in Falmouth, and have some very right on friends.

Writersblock2 · 29/04/2018 13:02

Good for you pickledparsnip - that’s a good attitude to take. Hopefully you’ll be surprised and some people on your social
media will be up for discussion at least!

DistaffSide · 28/04/2018 11:04

Ken your party bus sounds fun. I've let an Exeter friend know and will pm you if they are coming.

Pratchet · 28/04/2018 10:39

Bump, I went to London, if you have a chance to go, then GO! Brilliant atmosphere, loads of fun, fires you up!
