It seemed enough to have the other speakers. Who would speak at the replacement meeting?

Jeanhatchet · 31/05/2018 10:15

I'll be speaking. I haven't had an explanation from WPUK about why they have made any of these decisions. I have been waiting over 24 hours for one. They didn't bother to tell me they were cancelling. So we will speak
Anyway. How hard is it. I've got a mouth and you've got ears. Come listen to a woman speak?

2rebecca · 31/05/2018 09:44

Just seen on other thread the meeting is happening but not WPUK

2rebecca · 31/05/2018 09:39

Could the other speakers not just have spoken for a bit longer or them had a discussion?

Writersblock2 · 31/05/2018 09:36

WPUK decided they didn’t want Posie to speak. They couldn’t get a replacement speaker. So the event was cancelled.

Can someone explain what happened to the original event?

Writersblock2 · 31/05/2018 08:25

We are making it happen. New post to follow.

Would any of you still attend the same event in Truro? Same date? Same (original) speakers but not under the WPUK umbrella?

OP posts:
Writersblock2 · 31/05/2018 07:39

We are still trying to hold SOMETHING in Truro, it just won’t be WPUK. You should all have my email address if you’re interested.

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 31/05/2018 07:23

It's been cancelled hasn't it Sad

We never get stuff like this in Cornwall.

Picassospaintbrush · 31/05/2018 07:15

Mine was refunded last night just after midnight. My hunch is Miranda would have pulled out in protest over Posie, and so it's all gone south.
This is just a guess, I don't have inside info.

Is it sold out now? I tried to book a ticket this morning and it says 'unavailable ', unless I'm doing something wrong?

Writersblock2 · 28/05/2018 13:19

It is in Truro!

Yes, unfortunately it seems to be one of the side effects of having your eyes opened. It can be pretty lonely!

Scentofwater · 28/05/2018 12:49

It’s in Truro? That’s fantastic, so central! It’s a lovely city.

I think I have lost at least three friends just by inviting them. Apparently feminism isn’t feminism if it doesn’t centre men.

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 27/05/2018 09:14

I'll be there. Really looking forward to it!

BeUpStanding · 23/05/2018 22:51

We need to network as much as possible. The consultation on the GRA is going to be launched in about 6 weeks, so it's now critical!

Writersblock2 · 23/05/2018 20:44

@BeUpStanding - that's a long way! Thank you so much for joining us. :D

Just bought my ticket - I'll be coming from London. Have been meaning to visit friends in Cornwall for ages and this is a great excuse!

Writersblock2 · 22/05/2018 19:33

Time to bump again. Tickets are selling but we’d love to sell a few more. And if you can’t come, please promote on Twitter and add loads of hashtags! Thanks
