Tells women we just need to work on our irrational fear of male violence

mobile.twitter.com/parislees/status/980091878728241152

The male privilege just shines through with this one.

Though it’s about what you’d expect from someone who said they love being cat called and treated like a piece of meat.

Reading that article it seems that Paris back then was all about 'sticking it to the man' (although the commentary seemed to be about someone having a manic episode so unlikely to have been sticking it to anyone). Now Paris has decided to stick it to women instead, perhaps because they believe (or enjoy) all the 'cis women are the oppressors' propaganda.

bellasuewow · 02/04/2018 20:24

Paris is violent and has been in prison. There are lots of very astute comments on Twitter in response so there is a silver lining as he exposes his true self for scrutiny.

UnaMagdalena · 02/04/2018 14:18

they would say it is cis women's fear of Women.

I agree so completely though, they are being so illogical! And so narcissistic. Their fears must be respected. Others' fears mocked.

ijustwannadance · 02/04/2018 14:05

So if women's fear of male violence is irrational, surely by that logic trans fear of male violence would also be irrational too? And if male violence is irrational, why can't they use the men's toilets?

TempusFugitive · 02/04/2018 12:08

good points. their fears must be protected by new laws.
Women's fears are to be mocked. Good luck to us 'getting over' them. Grrrr!

UpstartCrow · 02/04/2018 12:05

Look at all the TRA's in that thread ignoring consent and demanding 'evidence'. It looks like Reddit.

Ritzsaltedcrackers · 02/04/2018 12:00

Ugh, hadn’t seen that before. He really is vile.

It was 'thrilling' because for a moment he had the power to harm someone else. It wasn't because it was 'rebellious' or 'chaotic'.

R0wantrees · 02/04/2018 11:34

' ally' even!! oops

R0wantrees · 02/04/2018 11:33

The 'allie' drive is being exploited by some TRAs in a very deliberate and chilling way....

TerfinUSA · 02/04/2018 11:26

"Didn't Paris go to jail for a violent attack? They themselves are violent! confused"

Yes, Paris will give you all the 'transwomen are at risk of being attacked, sex work, blah blah blah'

but the reality is that HE attacked a client. And he enjoyed it.

www.vice.com/en_us/article/5gkdz5/woman-on-a-naked-rampage-in-mcdonalds-paris-lees

He said it was 'thrilling'

There are plenty of cases of male sex workers attacking their clients, but far, far fewer of female sex workers.

Paris is a man. A violent man.

BlytheByName · 02/04/2018 11:16

I spent most of yesterday trying to argue this on FB with a large group of trans allies and one trans man.
I used the Target loos data and my very best calm manner but the closest I got was one woman saying I had legitimate safety concerns and as not transphobic but she disagreed with me.

Trumpdump · 02/04/2018 11:08

Didn't Paris go to jail for a violent attack? They themselves are violent! Confused

R0wantrees · 02/04/2018 10:55

there is a desperate need for serious investigation into how some TRAs are using propaganda techniques so effectively....

Ereshkigal · 02/04/2018 10:46

I'd go further: male who actively enjoys sexual harassment by men mocks women's fear of violence.

Ritzsaltedcrackers · 02/04/2018 10:43

That’s it in a nutshell popchyk.

Particularly depressing to see the clueless handmaidens applauding Paris over this.

Male mocks women’s fear of violence.

Women fall into line and submit to his word.

This isn’t progress, it’s the patriarchy in its full oppressive glory.

Transgender people afraid of male violence = legitimate fear. Must not have to share bathrooms with males, this must be enshrined in law.

Women afraid of male violence = irrational fear. Must be forced to share bathrooms with males, this must be enshrined in law.

Ellenripleysalienbaby · 02/04/2018 10:28

Paris Lees doesn't give one shiny shite about women, or transwomen actually. Literally all they care about is passing, being seen as a woman and basking in the glory of that.

It's the same old:
Transwomen being scared of male violence is totally legitimate and we must change our laws for this.

Women being scared of male violence is to be publicly ridiculed.

Fuck off Paris.

Ereshkigal · 02/04/2018 10:27

I'd rather not do that but I will if I'm forced into a binary choice between the trans umbrella and women and children.

Me too.

AlistairAppletonssexyscarf · 02/04/2018 10:16

I'd say that many of the supportive replies to Paris are framing the situation in the current GRC scenario. Self-ID changes the game really and it's clear that a lot of people don't realise that. E.g. the questions asking how they would know that they were in hospital with a transwoman.

Popchyk · 02/04/2018 10:13

LangCleg · 02/04/2018 10:13

This is the elephant in the room.

My question is this: how do we put the genie back in the bottle? Because unless we can separate out these populations, I will have to support women's rights and the safeguarding of children and throw dysphoric transsexuals under the bus.

I'd rather not do that but I will if I'm forced into a binary choice between the trans umbrella and women and children. I hope that we can see formal organising begin to happen among transsexuals that builds on the individual voices of people such as Debbie and Kristina and Miranda. And then we can start creating solidarity between lobby groups.

Terfragette69 · 02/04/2018 10:07

I'm on that twitter feed, being told that transwomen also face attack and rape. Tried arguing but brickwall is very big, impenetrable in fact. Anyone got a link that identifies all transgender criminals?

Ereshkigal · 02/04/2018 10:01

I think the problem (for women) is the trans umbrella. Now that has been expanded to include everyone and his er, spouse, we do have a problem. 50% of the TIMs in prison are sex offenders, compared to 10-12% of other male prisoners. Cross-dressing is the most common paraphilia among sex offenders. So, under the trans umbrella parameters, I'm afraid TIMs do actually pose increased risk to women compared to other men.

I agree. This is the elephant in the room.

It's not the fault of women that the TRAs expanded the definition of trans to include males who are an increased risk to women. It's not the fault of dysphoric transsexuals either. But we are where we are.

Paris can spout MRA rhetoric as much as Paris likes. It won't change the facts on the ground. And it won't stop women pointing out the facts either.
