many of these RadFems routinely present outside gender norms- even as the opposite gender- often with such masculinity and dominance, I had to wonder how many steps away these women are from being labeled Transgender themselves."

Eh? How can anyone be labelled as transgender if it's all about self ID?Confused

You can label us as slightly assertive women, if you want.

Yes! Typical narc - never talking to you. Only ever looking in the mirror and talking to themselves. Anything they accuse others of, is what they are doing themselves.

Yes yes yes, exactly!

PencilsInSpace · 02/04/2018 11:06

Tsk Venice, that Sheila used to be such a nice girl GrinGrinGrin

AngryAttackKittens · 02/04/2018 10:53

That whole "article" is basically just "waaaahhhh fuck you women I hate you!". But less well written.

AncientLights · 02/04/2018 10:50

Astonishing article. One thing that strikes me is that I have been told all my life that women are more emotional than men - whatever emotional may mean - yet all we get from TRAs is emotion. Curious.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 02/04/2018 10:38

"Radfems, I’ve noticed, mostly identify as lesbians, and have presumed entitlement over the whole of lesbianism, for example, how lesbians behave, who can be one, and what makes you a good lesbian."

I don't know what makes a 'good lesbian' oe if such a thing exists but I do know that whatever it is, it doesn't include dick

AstraiaLiberty · 02/04/2018 09:13

"They become defensive over their lesbianism when broaching the subject of Transgender women, which is ironic, because as far as I had researched, many of these RadFems routinely present outside gender norms- even as the opposite gender- often with such masculinity and dominance, I had to wonder how many steps away these women are from being labeled Transgender themselves."

We're not submissive little women, so in the world of trans ideology, we must really be men. I cannot get over how bizarre this is. Imagine if a century ago, men had latched onto the idea that the women trying to do manly things like vote and get university degrees and wear trousers must be secretly men. With manbrains. All the other, ladybrained women just loved their oppression. They identified with it, because gender is an innate feeling.

I'm going to share that article with people, because it's so ludicrous, and the ahistorical account of radical feminism proves that this person has absolutely no clue what they're writing about.

AngryAttackKittens · 02/04/2018 09:05

"logicize"

I weep for the English language. What did it ever do to deserve that?

SuburbanRhonda · 02/04/2018 09:04

That image he's using for the title, isn't that a certain mottle-coated TRA at Hyde Park?

That’s what I thought.

As for the article itself, tl;dr.

Oh yes AAK, that one was fun. as well as probably being pretty upsetting to parents of babies with actual disorders of sex development. I imagine in that scenario there's nothing you'd want more than the doctor / midwife being able to confidently tell you what sex your baby is.

AngryAttackKittens · 02/04/2018 08:58

It reminds me of that hilarious post from Slate? Huffpo? Wherein the TRA author was attempting to drum up terror over the idea of a sinister doctor snatching a baby from its mother's arms and (gasp!) announcing it's sex. Coercively and evilly, obviously.

SophoclesTheFox · 02/04/2018 08:57

Fucking hell, it is!

Good spot.

Well, that sets the stall out pretty clearly, doesn't it?

Wow.

LangCleg · 02/04/2018 08:55

Omg they’re describing themselves

There's 4 minutes of my life that I won't get back. FWIW, I think the people mentioned are random rather than targeted and are there only to serve the purpose of his bogeyman narrative. It's like he wanted to write his drivel anyway and googled names of RL UK feminists he hoped other Americans probably wouldn't have heard of to give it a veneer of 'trooth'.

ReluctantCamper · 02/04/2018 08:40

crikey. I couldn't read all that. Well done Pahylen for most frequent use of the word 'they' in any written piece, ever.

Women are just 'they' to Phaylen, a homogeneous, shadowy mass.

AmygdalaeOnFire · 02/04/2018 08:30

"They aggressively attack, unprovoked, nonsensically hellbent on creating a narrative that paints them as a hero trying to slay a mythical beast."

All throughout history we see women writing narratives about themselves framed as "a hero slaying a beast".

AngryAttackKittens · 02/04/2018 08:20

Radical feminism was invented in South London in 2017! Well done, Venus, for doing that.

Who is this semi-literate asshole and why is he wearing an entire Sephora branch on his face at once?

SophoclesTheFox · 02/04/2018 08:08

Well that was an...interesting read Grin

Long on emotion and short on facts. And a quite astonishingly comprehensive ignorance of the history of feminism - what a surprise! Venice invented radical feminism - chortle.

I must be a lot more unplugged than I thought
