It was posted on broadsheets.ie but subsequently pulled

Should say I asked for my post to be withdrawn as I hadn’t considered mumsnets attitude to it being on their page and if as a Uk website they’re subject to certain restrictions so didn’t want to put them in an awkward place

If a man is accused of rape, and can be placed at the scene... can the posters convinced that most if not all mem who are accused of rape are guilty, give an example of the sort of evidence that would persuade you the man was not guilty and did not deserve a lengthy jail sentence ?

See, I believe none exists really.

NotTakenUsername · 30/03/2018 12:25

confuddledconfuddle I’m male

That was painfully apparent from your first comment.

Angelsoul2k15uk · 30/03/2018 12:25

Toosweet30 Not if they beat the absolute shit out of me

Angelsoul2k15uk · 30/03/2018 12:23

confuddledconfuddle I’m male

dontwaketheneighbours · 30/03/2018 12:23

But there are other facts, Angel, she had blood on her clothes and there was blood on his bedspread. She had a 1cm tear to her vagina. The taxi driver remembered her being distressed and saw the blood on her trousers. The WhatsApp messages from the 'men' involved stated she was hysterical and it wasn't going to end well! How much more 'evidence' do you need?

tootsweet30 · 30/03/2018 12:23

Well angel soul based on your own comments I think it's far more likely you decided to have gay sex with the two random men you met that day and were so embarrassed that people might find out you were gay you lied and said you were raped.

Or does the shame excuse only work for men who rape women?

AssassinatedBeauty · 30/03/2018 12:22

@Angelsoul2k15uk do you have a check list of rape myths that you're ticking off here?

Yes, all the evidence needs to be considered. What she did beforehand is not relevant. That's not evidence, it's character assassination.

And the question should be, how did the men involved know for definite that she was consenting? What actions did they take to guarantee she was actively consenting? But of course all the emphasis is on whether the woman can prove she didn't consent.

Angelsoul2k15uk · 30/03/2018 12:22

CarrotyO Yes mate perhaps I have had. I’ve never went to someone’s house uninvited, Ive only had consensual sexual relationships with people I care about.
I make no apologies

LassWiADelicateAir · 30/03/2018 12:20

Quimby what forum/ site is that? If that is really a juror I hope they are hammered for it.

confuddledconfuddle · 30/03/2018 12:19

@Angelsoul2k15uk but maybe you flashed a bit of leg at those men and winked going past them and they knew from last week you had a 1 night stand with their friend. So that's ok - they were within their right to have sex with you. As you were a good time girl last weekend

CapnHaddock · 30/03/2018 12:19

That juror is a fucking idiot.

CarrotyO · 30/03/2018 12:18

Angelsoul has had a shitty boring life where he has never been to an after party on a whim after a night out. Other people have a life, get over it.

Ereshkigal · 30/03/2018 12:17

Oh so let’s just accept it and hang the men she has accused

I think you'll find we haven't had the death penalty for rape since Georgian times.

LassWiADelicateAir · 30/03/2018 12:15

However the behaviour of the girl has to be taken into account prior to the allegations to try to understand all the information to decide if she was consensual or not. You have stated you have went many times into a bedroom with guys and kissed. That’s fine, and when you said No further that is your right. However was there times you said yes?

What on earth has that got to do with anything ?. If you say "yes" you consent.

I will try and keep this simple for you.

Can you imagine the situation of a prostitute? To make it really easy for you let us imagine one standing in a red light area, wearing a tiny skirt, see through top, killer heels and loads of make up.( no "church going angel") Let us imagine she agrees a price with a punter- say £20. Let us imagine she takes the punter up a dark alley. Let us imagine the punter unzips himself but she changes her mind. He carries on anyway- she has been raped.

Angelsoul2k15uk · 30/03/2018 12:15

AssassinatedBeauty No it doesn’t. But this case is not Black or White. If I walk into a public toilet in a tube station in London. I’m followed by two men who physically assault me badly, then rape me. If I’m on cctv walking into the toilets and the two men walking in behind me. It’s quite black and white.
However this case is not. So to try to find the truth all facts need to be considered not just the fact the girl says she was not consensual. Oh so let’s just accept it and hang the men she has accused.

Quimby · 30/03/2018 12:15

Should say that link is the alleged juror comments

Ereshkigal · 30/03/2018 12:14

Wow, Quimby.

confuddledconfuddle · 30/03/2018 12:13

It's irrelevant if there are times I said yes.

It is typical young adult teenage behaviour to go to parties. I am more GAA scene and yes often went to parties of people I didn't know, particularly when in Belfast. If they didn't want her there, why did they not ask her to leave?

The point is this girl is saying what happened was not consensual.

So if one of the guys I said no to, had of done what he wanted anyway. It was my fault as I went with him. I expect to have my wishes respected. Like any decent human should do!

It's another argument what the boys thought - but you are arguing the girl has done something wrong when she hasn't! She was not asked to leave a party. It doesn't matter what she wore, it doesn't matter what she drank, it doesn't matter where she went with the guys, it doesn't matter if she changed her mind halfway through, she felt it was not consensual and that is all it comes down to. I will support any girl in acting anyway she wants to and wearing anything she wants to. She has done not a thing wrong!

That has no impact on what the boys have done - that is a different question when it comes to our laws.

Ereshkigal · 30/03/2018 12:12

Yes someone mentioned it earlier.

Totallymyownperson · 30/03/2018 12:11

There's a BBC report that a juror has tried to justify the verdict on comments section of a newspaper. If it's true they are in shit trouble.

What you're saying, @Angelsoul2k15uk, is that women's past behaviour is an indicator as to how likely she is to lie about having given consent, is that right?

LassWiADelicateAir · 30/03/2018 12:06

LassWiADelicateAir I’m sorry if I offend u. I’m sorry u think my post to be claptrap as I do not agree with your opinion

What is the point of this apology? I am not "offended", never said I was "offended"

You are rambling on about her not being a "church going angel" , which is so irrelevant as to whether or not she was raped; fixating on her bag ; again irrelevant. Fixating on her going upstairs- again irrelevant. A person can start off deciding to have sex and still change their mind at any time.
