I read it last night and was horrified by the response. Instead of just commenting how dreadful it is it was used as a score pointing exercise.

Young men are most likely to be victims of knife crime, women are killed around the world every single day for just being female, yet just cheap point scoring. Not a single word of sympathy just jumping to probably very far fetched conclusions, yet it is the 'terfs' who are accused of stirring up hatred.

Also nice to see narcissism alive and well in the comments. "I'm moving to London soon!" Like those people who say "oh my god, I was nearly in London that day! It could have been me!" after a terrorist attack.

This blatantly was no random attack on a trans woman. The victim obviously knew the suspect and seriously doubt that being trans was a motivation. Also, if over 100 women are murdered a year, why doesn’t Lily think that is a sustained campaign but thinks 1 murder of a trans person is?

Gosh, it's almost like women are right when they say that men are dangerous and domestic violence exists .
Identify as a woman, get murdered like a woman.....

I was under the impression that this was an intimate partner murder, rather than because the victim (Naomi I think) was trans - I certainly doubt that the 24 year old man charged with the murder spent any time reading radfem tweets.

I think unfortunately all the women who are murdered are just background noise to Lily (and probably lots of other people too)

It is not at all clear what the circs of the murder are. I am willing to have a large bet with Lily that feminists have absolutely nothing to do with it tho

Even including that unfortunate death, there are still more transwomen murderers in this country that have been murdered.

So if LM really has to talk about panic, they are talking about it in the wrong direction.

So obviously the MAN who has been arrested for her murder is not to blame, it's the nasty TERFs.... But it's never the mans fault!! (sarcasm)

There was a spate of unconnected killings in London in the space of one week, 8 in all, mostly stabbings. All were reported in the mainstream press. We don't know the details of this one yet. It's a tragedy as they all are, but there is no evidence as yet that it was even a transphobic attack, let alone related to feminist campaigning.

I read that and thought the same.

LM says how personally scary that murder is. Well, with the number of women who are regularly being murdered that means that every female on the planet needs to be in a permanent state of terror.
