Some are suggesting it may be permanently. The silencing of women continues.

Sounds like Twitter miss haven't yet made up an excuse. But we all know the reason: Revenge for the successful meeting at HOC. The anger at their "own goal" of pressuring Millwall to cancel, which led to Venice securing the ideal spot at HOC. Their incandescent rage at being impotent to stop that meeting from happening.

Winewinewinegin · 23/03/2018 10:10

I think we should start a twitter watch - what tweets get banned and why. There have been some very odd interpretations from twitter.

Also, how do we find out how their banning process works and what the rules are?

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 23/03/2018 10:04

FencingFightingTorture35 · 23/03/2018 10:03

That video of Lila Perry - that is a male human being who wants to cause a stir most probably for sexual gratification. They are surely opting not to wear underwear so their penis is on show?

Is there anyone else who interprets it differently? Was the problem that Lila was under 18? Does anyone actually look at that video and think the visible penis is accidental/

DichordStasis · 23/03/2018 09:59

@DrRadfem it's awful they haven't given you a reason. I hope you are able to get them to reinstate your account. I think sometimes they shut down accounts that get a lot of reports but that they also sometimes reinstate those accounts. I recall seeing cases that have taken weeks or months to resolve.

Many times people whose accounts are in limbo like that are able to start an alternate or "backup" account. You might want to give that a try.

This is horrible censorship. Sorry you have to deal with it.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 23/03/2018 09:55

Those on twitter, protect your account from the TRAs by subscibing to TRa blocker, Instructions here. Wish I had done this before

Flowers DrRadFem

Stick around! We have some fabulous ding dongs on here. You'll love it.

Nosetothesun · 23/03/2018 09:54

Twitter are being inundated with complaints and 'evidence'. I don't think the fight is with Twitter in this instance.....

Trueheart1 · 23/03/2018 09:50

Winewinewine If she is an actual woman then Twitter don't care. They would only care if she had a penis.

Winewinewinegin · 23/03/2018 09:49

What about all the ones calling for or justifying violence against women speaking out?

Juells · 23/03/2018 09:49

Sorry to hear you've been banned DrRadFem. I followed you on twitter, but deleted my account a few days ago when I googled my twitter name, and my real name came up Sad Thought I'd hidden my identity well, but I hadn't. Horrible to have to be frightened of what a gang of fucking men might do. It's like living in the 1800s.

Vizard · 23/03/2018 09:49

@DrRadFam
All my support Venice. Just found a thread about this on Twitter. Outrageous.
I don't know what to do. Perhaps set up meetups in various areas so we can talk. This feels like a witch hunt of centuries ago, I'm agog that it's happening now. Unfortunately the general populace is so unaware.

Winewinewinegin · 23/03/2018 09:49

Have twitter deleted the account that suggested murdering a major female celebrity for liking a tweet yesterday?

Nosetothesun · 23/03/2018 09:46

Some accounts are mining for information that can be used to vilify.

Elendon · 23/03/2018 09:45

My brother was blocked on twitter for a fairly innocuous tweet regarding a political organisation. The block lasted three days. It was seen by him as a punishment, a kangaroo court judgement.

He's now back on, but is aware that free speech is not free speech. He has said his wings have been clipped.

Sending positive thoughts to you DrRadfem. I don't always agree with your views, I might add, but I will defend your right to say them.

TerfsUp · 23/03/2018 09:44

Waves to DrRadRem.

TerfsUp · 23/03/2018 09:43

I am glad to hear of the walk-out and totally support it.

So the student was offered a compromise and turned it down? Typical TRA. The hell with everyone else and their feelings - it's all me, me, me.

grandplans · 23/03/2018 09:42

Great to see you here @DrRadFem! I was trying to work out how to get a message to you, to invite you over here!

MissPiggysKarateChop · 23/03/2018 09:40

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth Yep, you see I don't think that is worthy of being banned - it is illustrating a point about the feelings and dignity of the girls in that school being dismissed. Its easy to get it banned though because of how he looks in the gif.

AreYouTerfEnough · 23/03/2018 09:39

It’s been suggested that a fair few TRA’s are in IT so they have the knowledge and access to the systems that control web searches and sites. The manipulation appears to be serious and sustained.

Trueheart1 · 23/03/2018 09:38

DrRadfem I have sent you a private message.

I think twitter is a poor medium for debate anyway. I only started using it recently to support Venice, the Man Friday thing and a Women's Place but there are an awful lot of angry nutters there and I doubt anyone changes anyone's opinion. It's an echo chamber.

I agree with this. I don't like Twitter, it seems like a medium for posting pithy sentiments rather than debate - that's not to say I haven't read some interesting things there but usually over the course of 5-10 tweets in a thread.

As to echo chambers, to some extent it seems unavoidable in this debate the two sides are so diametrically opposed it can get emotional and very nasty so each side tends to group together and bolster each other up (see the multitude of trans subreddits some of which are quite simply to validate existence). Many trans avoid gender critical areas as at some point they are unable to logically respond to the criticism and it devolves into cries of transphobia rather than debate. I've come to the conclusion that an echo chamber on this issue (for both sides) is inevitable.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 23/03/2018 09:36

Sorry here it is

OvaHere · 23/03/2018 09:35

Just to add though - anything that gets the debate off Twitter and into the wider public eye isn't necessarily a totally bad thing. Man Friday seems to have shaken things up more than a 100 tweets have done.

Yes it's unfair to be silenced on social media but the reason so many TRAs favour it is that reality can be distorted behind fake profiles pics and lots of pink glitter.

Get the Heather Peto's of the world out into the glare of MSM to debate and the wheels start to come off.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 23/03/2018 09:35

Piggy I tweeted this video of Lila Perry. An 18 year old male wearing a miniskirt with clearly no underwear, in a school yard.

The abuse I received for it was unbelievable. Hundreds of abusive tweets. I have never blocked so many people before, TBH I had hardly blocked anyone before this. Apparently I am a paedo, pervert, etc. This is an adult male. Yet I am the one targetted for punishment.

The girls in this school objected to him in their changing rooms but their wishes were overlooked.

This vid is on Youtube but I'm fairly certain that I copied it from MN. Lila Perry debacle was the thing that peaked transed me and I read about it on here a couple of years back
