I can't actually read the tweet. But the OP was of the opinion that JK Rowling is being targeted due to her possible gender critical views. By Jack Munro who, apparently, is attempting to change J. K. Rowling's mind.

It's mportant, because J. K. Rowling is very influential and would be a fantastic ally for women.

Djnoun · 21/03/2018 18:44

@Datun

So you have evidence that I'm going to be raped by a trans person in the future? Not ACTUAL trans people though. The undefined shadowy trans people. You have research and evidence to prove this?

And it's all related somehow to this tweet?

Right, whatever, but Harry Potter is real.

So.

Djnoun · 21/03/2018 18:41

And this tweet means I now don't have any rights?

How?

Keep asking this, but there's no explanation. It should be a simple case of explaining your hypothesis.

Datun · 21/03/2018 18:39

Djnoun

Men commit 98% of sexually violent crime and 90% of violent crime.

When women are in a vulnerable position, in a state of undress, a rape refuge, prison or hospital, we separate by sex, on the basis that women require privacy and dignity away from men, and also safety.

Equality law and self identification will mean that anyone can identify as a woman, thereby making sex segregation meaningless.

Stop being so entirely disingenuous.

If it really doesn't matter then why can't transwomen continue to use male spaces? If it's all just hysteria then surely they'd be fine in male changing rooms and they'd see no need to lobby for a change in law on self-identification?

Oh wait...

JellySlice · 21/03/2018 18:37

Most of the posters on these threads couldn't give a monkey's about what people call themselves or what they wear. 'Trans', as a class, is a non-issue. The issue is the demand being made that women give up all our rights to a sub-group of men hiding behind the name 'Trans'.

Djnoun · 21/03/2018 18:36

But apparently, other people 'denying biology' means we're going to end up living in a rape dystopia. How?

Is this mapped out, with like a time line and everything? What year are we predicted to enter the total chaos zone?

JessicaJonesJacket · 21/03/2018 18:34

TAs have 'beliefs'. Most posters on here prefer facts. Since you seem confused about the difference, I guess you didn't read the article linked upthread.

Djnoun · 21/03/2018 18:34

Apparently this is not about actual trans people. I'd love a definition of the opposite to an actual trans person. Who, or what, are they? Do they lurk in the shadows? Are they like vampires? You never actually see one and live to tell the tale?

CadyHeron · 21/03/2018 18:33

But I am interested in laws being changed and rights being taken away from women and girls based purely on a man believing himself to be a woman.

This.

CadyHeron · 21/03/2018 18:32

You've been told what it's about. Denying biology.

JellySlice · 21/03/2018 18:31

actual trans people

Define, please.

Djnoun · 21/03/2018 18:30

@JellySlice

I don't think it has, sweetheart.

HakunaDentata · 21/03/2018 18:30

Well if proper discussion about this issue had been allowed maybe there wouldn't be so much bitterness on some threads.

The discussion is now starting only because some very brave women have forced it to happen.

I don't see anything wrong with letting off a bit of bile sometimes. But if you want a real shock I'd recommend THE THREAD OF RAGE Wink

terryleather · 21/03/2018 18:30

I'm not interested in people's beliefs tbh.

But I am interested in laws being changed and rights being taken away from women and girls based purely on a man believing himself to be a woman.

Djnoun · 21/03/2018 18:30

Oh, your trans bashing has nothing to do with actual trans people.

How bizarre!! What is it about then? The mythical trans people. The dark undercurrent of a nebulous force waiting to rape us all? Sorry, that sounds a little screwy to me.

JellySlice · 21/03/2018 18:29

Djnoun, the thread has moved on.

yetanothertranswoman · 21/03/2018 18:28

This IS NOT about those people though

However - when someone with a platform like JK Rowling endorses what is a common insult for transwomen, it does have an effect on 'those people' - even though she may well be referring to those people who aren't transsexual.

It just makes the world that much harder to navigate.

JellySlice · 21/03/2018 18:28

Where do you see hatred?Confused

I object to having someone's different beliefs foisted upon me. Why are their beliefs more important than my rights?

Why are their beliefs truer than evidential science?

Read the thread? The crux of the issue?

This is about a brief exchange on twitter about wizard's outfits. I did ask for it to be explained how, specifically, this affects my rights, but an explanation has yet to be forthcoming.
