Quite possible if Paris has lied for a while. On another thread Olenna found an article from Oct 2012 in a local paper, and Paris' age was given as 25.

Good on MW for standing his ground on this - PL's entire tv career centres around the fact that PL was born a boy. PL would not be on the MW show were if not for the fact that PL was born a boy. So it would be pretty bloody ridiculous for people to be offended on PL's behalf when it gets mentioned by someone other than PL on tv.

I never understand the dislike for MW here - he’s quite pro women but just loves to wind mumsnet up.

Don’t like PL but they don’t really warrant any criticism on this occasion - so far.

What a day it's been! - this hooha; Lily peaking terfblocker; coverage of ManFriday; James O'Brien, and I've just seen articles in the Metro and the Standard that are very critical as well.

I think the tide is turning!

Grudgingly @McTufty I agree. Everyone seems to have behaved like people with critical faculties, reasonable skin thickness and intelligence. Even the Daily Mail!

But not Channel 5.

Can we just pause to say fair play to PL for saying she had not taken offence at this. I don’t like her, but she had an opportunity to stir and play the victim and she has apparently been quite reasonable about something here for once

If this is true Matthew Wright has gone massively up in my estimation. I really like Anne. She's intelligent and thoughtful. I hope this doesn't harm her career.

He is a journalist. He wrote for the Mirror (I think) for years before he got his TV show which he got on the back of his comments column

Anyway, I'm pleased about this.

I know it's the Fail, but I really do hope this is true. I liked this quote from the 'source':

I think it's also significant that the DM is actually allowing unmoderated comments on this - don't they usually moderate any trans stuff so heavily that there are usually only about 2 comments?

Glancing down the comments, the vast majority appear to agree with Matthew on this. I noticed that someone replied to this one:

XY chromosones = boy, xx = girl. Simple facts, regardless of how people 'identify' in later life.

with I can't believe you got that simple fact published! I've tried with the same fact many times.
