James is going to be discussing trans issues today on LBC. His show is on now - not sure what time the segment will start, but should be good!

I don't live in London and have never listened to this O'Brien fella but having read so many people who feel they would lose their job if they publicly went against the transgender agenda, he could well just be trying to protect his job.

Very much doubt it. They have many presenters including Farage, all who have very different views on a range of subjects. Nothing is usually off the table.

@Coyo, I think you have a valid point there

Just read this and I am full of admiration for you, Sweary.

Wish I'd heard it - is it on catch up?

This is a perfect summary of this whole trans debate:

Woman: Women don't feel safe with men in their spaces
JOB: I resent your insinuation that all men are violent.
Transwoman: I'll get attacked if I go into a men's toilet
JOB: Oh mate, that's terrible. Of course you must be allowed to get away from all the very violent men who are waiting to hurt you.

Mouthtrousersafrocknowandthen · 19/03/2018 15:32

JOB blocked me, I sent him a few tweets, quoting stuff from here mostly. It got retweets. He obvs doesn't like it. What a wuss.

2rebecca · 19/03/2018 15:24

I think some of the twitter posts come across as aggressive. Fair enough point out his inconsistency but demanding he responds to tweets sounds bullying. No-one has to respond to social media stuff. We can argue our points without sounding like bullies.

Elendon · 19/03/2018 14:37

You have nailed it, brilliant post!

GabeIsShocking · 19/03/2018 14:24

It annoyed JOB to not be able to give Hannah the man made TERF label. He wanted to divide feminism. This isn't just about trans, and whoever suggested to say "I am a feminist" in debate, has been proven right.

Pratchet · 19/03/2018 14:20

Dw I found you on twitter

Pratchet · 19/03/2018 14:18

Did you try to call in again. He was so vile to you last time.

Pratchet · 19/03/2018 14:18

What did you think Posie

Nosetothesun · 19/03/2018 14:14

It may that by liking certain quotes he can then gauge the polar views on any given topic. There may be an opportunity here.... twitter.com/mrjamesob/status/975709517752266752

therealposieparker · 19/03/2018 14:02

LBC listen again is free on the free app.

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 19/03/2018 13:56

I used to listen to him too, stopped few years ago as his manner is increasingly overbearing and inviting us to sit at his feet whilst listening to his wisdom as he pontificates.

I agree LBC lose more listeners over him. He doesn't translate to TV at all either - to have to see his face (shining with the same light of those who have a direct line to God).

Get JHB on instead of JOB!

UpstartCrow · 19/03/2018 13:55

I just got here and I missed it. Did anyone record it?

Elen Flowers

I am on the constant verge of throwing up today due to hormone spikes from ovulating... It sucks. Those who think glitter and dresses is what ‘woman’ means, really have no fucking idea do they?

Terftastic · 19/03/2018 13:49

oh poshme, absolutely.

I mean, here's me, suffering because of my biology - what was I thinking? Not only do TW get period pains (and can get pregnant too) - because they're real women and all - but it's also utterly transphobic of me to talk about periods at all, which could make TW feel inadequate. Or something.

nauticant · 19/03/2018 13:48

I've had that switch in my thinking over a number of issues over the past few years LadyMcLadyCrisps.

The result is I'm having a major shift in my political thinking in which I'm turning away from any side that enforces ideologies, supports no-platforming, views moral superiority as the deciding factor in any argument, uses magical thinking, etc.

ElenOfTheWays · 19/03/2018 13:48

I missed this. Ironically due to an hormonal migraine keeping me in bed. Women eh?
However, it does sound as if the bias was pretty clear.

Here's hoping.

GabeIsShocking · 19/03/2018 13:48

Is his style of debate a sealion one?

GabeIsShocking · 19/03/2018 13:44

He probably doesn't even agree with things he says he believes. Weather vein narc in my opinion.

LanaKanesTerfyVagina · 19/03/2018 13:41

Good point Lady

And I have seen him for who he really is.......a male bullying others who don't agree with him.

I too appreciate a balanced view.....tbh I'm not sure it's possible to get one without reading/listening to a vast range of sources, then winkling out the truth yourself.

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 19/03/2018 13:41

James clearly doesn't like bodily functions and biology - I don't need to know if you still have a penis he said.

Why not James? the woman next to him in the changing room not only knows - she will see it (and a penis looks entirely male to us).

I could almost hear his disgust at the mention of the newly sprouting breasts on the man. (Just think men boobs - lots have them and not going to threaten you James. )

Periods and reproductive facts nearly tripped himself up here- as he was saying are things that mainly constitue being female - no JOB that is being female.

MissPiggysKarateChop · 19/03/2018 13:39

@NannyOggsKnickers

Great analogy with the CRB checks - I shall be using that.

LadyMcLadyCrisps · 19/03/2018 13:38

Lana that’s probably because you agreed with his particular viewpoint on certain other issues, now that you have a differing viewpoint from it’s much easier to see it/him for what it/he is IYSWIM?

I dont care what side of any political spectrum he falls upon, his supressive interviewing style is a huge turn off for me regardless of the issue at hand and where I fall, and always has been. I am open minded on most things and want to hear both sides of every argument. He doesnt facilitate that, he engineers the dialogue to support his own view imho.
