I don't watch QT anymore since being in the audience a year or so ago. It's breathtakingly biased and manipulated. I lied to get into the audience claiming that I was a Lib Dem supporter in the first place. The questions the audience asked are so carefully pre screened there's no chance of anyone asking anything the production team doesn't want asked. Really infuriating experience.

derxa · 24/03/2018 08:22

Paris Lees sought an argument with me for the benefit of Paris Lees. I declined. Why'look forward'to a TV row about a subject, which can rarely be discussed without emotionalism, even when no cameras are present..My thoughts on it can be read by anyone competent with Google. Peter Hitchens' thoughts on the subject.

Wheresmyfuckingcupcake · 24/03/2018 00:20

“Was men?” Women! Jesus even the iPhones have joined the trans conspiracy

Wheresmyfuckingcupcake · 24/03/2018 00:18

I see Paris disapproves of middle class was men. I guess she realises that one of the benefits of being middle class is easier access to an education which means you can think and write properly, put a coherent argument together, count for something in the world aside from your attractiveness, all that stuff. I can understand how that might piss poor old Paris off a bit.
I’d say if you can’t beat em, join em, but let’s face it that’s probably not an option either.

Just leaving that there for you @incorruptibledream

And, to slightly misquote another woman who was thrown under the bus for self-serving male arrogance : 'She would say that, wouldn't she?'

mirialis · 23/03/2018 22:52

Love the fact Germaine Greer, Julie Bindel et al are now "so called feminists". Not, like, legit ones but "so called". Hmm

PositivelyPERF · 23/03/2018 22:33

And sensibly pretty much everyone agreed on QT That would be the audience who had to be under 30yrs old and answer a questionnaire before they went on? Yes, a real cross section of people. 😒🙄

incorruptibledream · 23/03/2018 22:27

No Annie I do not. I also do not see PL representing those things. I also do not believe she hates women. She even made a point on QT of stating that these so called feminists believe they are being threatened whereas the changes to society have no bearing on them whatsoever. MN represents the toxic poisonous over reaction she talks of. And sensibly pretty much everyone agreed on QT

A trans person who is on the right side of history (ours Grin ) and the comments are worth reading.

Cold loathing is the default setting most TIMs have when talking about the uppity, usually older women who refuse to fawn over them. Like the way Liam Madigan talked about mumsnet.

ArcheryAnnie · 23/03/2018 11:07

@incorruptibledream you are a fan of someone like Paris Lees who actively encourages men to street-harrass women, and writes articles about how being treated "like a piece of meat" by men is awesome and sexy? Really?

ChoccyJules · 23/03/2018 09:45

Oh no, I just replied to a tweet about the survey stats, which I only know anything about because of YOU LOT and have now realised PL was copied in. So I think that's me out and a target. #shouldkeepoffsocialmedia

HomeTerf · 23/03/2018 09:26

It was breathtakingly biased.

What struck me was the cold loathing which PL obviously has for women. They spoke reasonably eloquently about the other topics (credit where due etc) but as soon as the AWS was asked the whole tone changed. They were also playing to the audience, with that silly little quip about 'I don't have much to say on this...' Cue sycophantic laughter.

But it was very clearly a pre-agreed script. Paris doesn't enter 'debates' unless they have been assured they are going to get universal applause and agreement.

I'd say this makes them an unsuitable guest for panel debate shows like Question Time, and will be putting that suggestion to the BBC

Bah. I watched a documentary on bbc4 about antibiotics. They had a woman with a huge rotting hole in her foot. Sounds preferable to tonight's Question Time

Bejazzled · 23/03/2018 00:48

PH dodged the bullet for sure. But he wasn't the biggest villain in this piece by a mile.

HaroldsSoCalledBluetits · 23/03/2018 00:33

Well I think Hitchens nailed his colours to the mast quite clearly - no amount of children being chemically castrated is going to be worth speaking up about compared to having the opportunity to have a go at any attempts to achieve representative parity for women. He's found new allies in the woke folk and that is by being, like them, anti women. Arsehole

Wheresmyfuckingcupcake · 23/03/2018 00:24

I know who they should have had on - Julie bindel. Or her mate rod Liddle. Either of them would have had the guts to provide balance.

mirialis · 23/03/2018 00:11

Ones who believe that transwomen are males smashy - that's what it means to be an MN bigot.

PL always does come across well - the shouty and whiny blokes in the audience telling us that TWs are FEMALE and they don't want to hear from feminists who have got it wrong and boo hoo AWS so unfair... not so much (and I'm actually undecided about AWS but until women are equally represented I cba at all with the "unfair" argument).

Was a shame PH was given no opportunity to come back to PL's statement about his article about the stance towards trans kids in school but he didn't really seem to have the will - I would have felt it would have been a pointless exercise too, with the entire panel and audience in woke mode.

I do wonder why no one is questioning why trans kids are not committing suicide more than other kids if 45% of them are "actually attempting to kill themselves" as PL says.

I have to say, though, I'm in another country at the moment and have just been offered a job and am planning to emigrate and I'll feel an awful lot more relaxed about having a dc in school here. DH and I were looking round the town we are planning to move to and were by the school at break time and it was just a bunch of kids messing about in their jeans and jumpers - no skirts or make up on either sex. Who knows if I will have a dc that turns out to be trans but there is nothing in the news about it here, no campaigns, no mermaids, nothing. Just kids being kids. Maybe that will change but it doesn't seem to be such an issue in non-anglophone (should that be cis-anglophone? Hmm) countries.

Pratchet · 23/03/2018 00:11

Cupcake: absolooootely. Fixing the panel (manel) is the only way they can do it.

Terfman · 23/03/2018 00:06

Reality is now fecked.

Wheresmyfuckingcupcake · 23/03/2018 00:03

If “putting the feminist bigots in their place” can only be achieved by ensuring no dissenting voice is on the panel then I wouldn’t be too cocky about the strength of your position if I were you.
You can run from the truth but you can’t hide. And the truth is xx chromosomes make you a woman and nothing else can. Even poor old Paris probably has to acknowledge that sometimes, in the wee small hours when the chorus of sycophants isnt available to give reassurance.

busyboysmum · 22/03/2018 23:56

Well I think they just totally avoided the question of self-identification didn't they so it didn't really answer the question at all or engage with any of the issues.

smashyourglasses · 22/03/2018 23:44

What MN bigots? Confused
