Transcript of her interrogation disciplinary interview with Labour on above link.

The term Orwellian is way overused, but I think it is actually applicable here.

Particularly noticeable to me was the insistence on not just looking at the the facts, but at what she was thinking. I didn't realise thought crime was a thing outside of dystopian fiction.

I feel sorry for Venice, it came across that Labour was very much part of who she was.

Jennifers interview, saw it on her twitter as link here did not work.

Do you think this tweet is damaging to the Labour party?
No, forcing the Leader to go to court and disenfranchising new members was damaging to the Labour Party

How much did this cost to do this Jennifer?

There are no figures on how much the party spends on the compliance unit... the treasurer was asked this at conference last yr. We were told the data pertaining to this is not collected.

Thanks so much for the support. And no one is any less worthy than anyone else... we are a team of equals!

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 11/03/2018 15:36

This is absolutely ridiculous. Whoever was conducting that interview is pathetic tbh

If we are to be censored everytime something might offend someone, noone can speak ever, as someone somewhere finds everything offensive surely. I mean, I could say I hate chips, and someone who loves chips could be offended by that?!

The asking about her mothers views on transgenderism is just bizarre.

The Eddie Izzard stuff too. A guy who has made his career from being a transvestite, suddenly decides he is a woman and should be on AWS, and everythings fine and dandy and anyone who disagrees/does not know...is evil? Fuck off.

Elendon · 10/03/2018 15:01

How much did this cost to do this Jennifer? Same question to Venice. I am presuming that those interviewing you are doing it on a voluntary basis and are not being paid apart from expenses. There are many CLPs who need money to put up credible candidates for election, whether local, council or general election.

Trumpdump · 10/03/2018 10:15

I know Venice has resigned, but is she going to complain/ sue?

nauticant · 10/03/2018 08:48

Listened to your recording @jenniferjames. That was a fine performance showing a good grasp of the fact/arguments. A nice firm tone throughout sprinkled with justifiable bafflement. Good thinking on your feet skills too.

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 10/03/2018 08:02

Sleepfree. Do not talk yourself down please - the fact you have your eyes open and question what you're told is what is required.

SleepFreeZone · 10/03/2018 07:54

*Jennifer

SleepFreeZone · 10/03/2018 07:51

My god that was one of the most ridiculous things I’ve listened to. I’m not as intelligent as most of the people on this thread but even I can see how incredibly biased that interview was and full of verbal tripwires. I honestly would have gone to that meeting with a resignation speech that she could have furiously scribbled down. Jennifervits clear you really do love the Labour Party and I commend you for bothering to answer any of those questions with the care and consideration that you did.

SweetGrapes · 09/03/2018 23:54

First they came for the gender critical.... exactly @Waddlelikeapenguin !

Datun · 09/03/2018 18:22

surely they must be able to find some non racists and people not on the sex offenders register to advise them?

Haha!

So who the fuck does their PR?

I can totally understand that a larger-than-life, charismatic character can help.

But surely they don't have to have shit for brains and their repugnant viewpoints plastered all over social media?

delusionsrus · 09/03/2018 17:54

Having read and listened to both, well done both Jennifer and Venice for putting up with this Orwellian experience.

It's fascinating that these two women are accused of bringing the party into disrepute while colleagues in the Commons and House of Lords can invite Monro Bergdorf (the Toby Young of the trans world) and "Karen Jones" ( sexual predator who is on the sex offender's register for life) to advise the party and no one blinks or raises a protest (except feminists who have a particular dislike of racists and sex offenders).

The double standards are breathtaking and very serious. Why do Labour exhibit such a lack of judgement about their selection of role models? While it is evident that they are only interested in the views of "women with a penis" these days, surely they must be able to find some non racists and people not on the sex offenders register to advise them?

Waddlelikeapenguin · 09/03/2018 17:40

Bloody hell, it's so much worse than i imagined. Well done both Flowers

First they came for the gender critical....

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 09/03/2018 17:34

Yeah well done jenniferjames I thought you got through that very well. Was a bit cut off at the end? I didn't get what the next steps are. When will you find out their decision?

MrsWooster · 09/03/2018 17:11

I am going to contact my mp and determine his (natch) perspective on self ID and act accordingly. Perhaps all of us need to do so and notify labour hq and the media of our decisions and reasons.

Writersblock2 · 09/03/2018 17:11

It beggars belief that this is reality now. I’m so impressed with how JJ and Venice handled themselves though. How anyone could read/listen to this and not be horrified is beyond me. Really hope pop media picks it up.

woman11017 · 09/03/2018 16:59

Very nasty men To qualify this; and some lovely fellow travellers, doing what they think is the right thing.
But it is not the labour party. Or wasn't.

woman11017 · 09/03/2018 16:56

I remember reading about the kangaroo courts dealing with sexual assault in the SWP
I've had dealings with the SWP. That's what this is. Very nasty men.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 09/03/2018 16:55

Jennifer
You spoke very well. You were articulate and reasonable and you expertly maneuvered the landmines that had been set for you.

Some of those questions were shocking. They were either manipulative in the extreme or naive in the extreme.

I take it your suspension has not been lifted, as the interviewer advised she had the authority to do? What is the next stage?

Good luck to you x

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 09/03/2018 16:53

Kochab : yes I'm glad you agree, I think the argument is really topsy turvy thanks to the likes of OJ. It really needs a re-tilt and a full on charge back at questioning men.

KochabRising · 09/03/2018 16:49

bureau you are absolutely correct.

Why is this issue being foisted on women to bear and be hurt by? It’s men, hurting men if trans women are being attacked in changing rooms. Why is the default response not for the men to sort this out?

I’m reminded once again of Golder Meirs reponse to the call for a Curfew for women after a series of rapes: “But it is the men who are attacking the women. If there is to be a curfew, let the men stay at home.”

Datun · 09/03/2018 16:35

And if sex is irrelevant and unreadable what the hell are they identifying with ?

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 09/03/2018 15:24

Apologies : Guido

JenniferJames · 09/03/2018 13:56

Sorry.. you tube thing needed editing back up now. I was interviewed by @uklabour, last week, after they suspended me in Jan for saying women don't have dicks...

And I'll keep saying it as long as men assume superiority because of THEIR sex.

If people couldn't read sex: how would men know who to talk down to? 🤔

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 09/03/2018 13:55

Hey Guidio - if you're reading :My thoughts are it is Witchfinder General territory and superstitious to deem a man has transformed into a woman by way of outward appearance. Magical thinking.

This is a male community issue that they should be discussing how to ensure comfort and safety of trans men in their spaces; educating men that they can't become female but they can certainly change their appearance, name etc.

Instead men have thrown the scary issue of 'women's bits' at us and telling us this is what being female is. In particular Owen Jones' insight into women is deemed to be more important than many other voices (bizarrely).

Brains, feelings, thinking, liking, disliking, type,of personality do not mean you are a particular sex. Ovaries and testes and biology get on with that business. A different outward appearance and hormone treatment may be opted for in life, but it does not magically mean you are a female.

This should be a male issue for them to reflect upon, instead they're ducking out and pretending it's transphobia (ridiculous and women aren't being silenced by such attempts at insults).

In fact it's almost going back to the 1970's idea that gay men are effeminate rather than just being men who like men. Just because a man 'feels' female doesn't means he isn't still a man (even after surgery). Men didn't used to feel comfortable with gay men in the changing rooms etc and we've moved on - men need to get over themselves and accept some men are trans and accept them into their changing rooms and ensuring safety.

I'm equally happy with the idea of a third legal definition and spaces if that is the only way to go and a 'heshe' promoun instead of pretending the man has become a she. Heshe is what most people end up saying as it is double speak to try and say the person opposite you is a 'she' when clearly talking to a man.

Either men should step up and be inclusive of trans men or if they can't stomach that debate, then look at the third way. We should not be forced down a hole of doublespeak and thought crime.
