Tomorrow I shall compose myself, continue speaking up, fight on, and we'll carry on getting stronger.

But I thought I would just explode my rage here, if you all don't mind, as I want to get angry tonight instead of desperate. Join me if you want to rage in company.

So.

FUCK YOU LABOUR, with your shortlists and your dismissive hatred of the female sex.

FUCK YOU, WEP, for choosing the wrong side and abandoning women this way

FUCK YOU BBC, for your biased coverage and concerted cheerleading of transing children and ignoring women

FUCK YOU ALL, you fools who aren't listening or respecting women.

You're all creating a monster and we will hit back HARD.
Our numbers are building.
We will NOT be defeated.
We keep fighting
We keep growing.

I AM RAGING.
I WILL NOT STAND DOWN.

Appreciate I'll come over as a bit slow of thinking here but I've gone on a slow simmer since reading that thinking gender roles / behaviours are a social construct is a "radical feminist" approach. Really basically that boys can like sparkly things and ballet and girls like trucks and trees and it doesnt mean anything about them apart from they like those things. And Ive been thinking... radical? RADICAL? I thought we went through all this crap already. Used to be under the line that no it didn't mean your boy was going to be soft or gay or girlie and now it seems the box is "Actually a girl".

I’m still shaking with rage about the Daily Mail “women’s crime stats” “reporting” yesterday. I tweeted yesterday, then deleted. Now I’ve tweeted again and this time it’s staying there.

terfsRus · 07/03/2018 00:24

MorrisZap fantastic post Smile

Terftastic · 07/03/2018 00:00

Oh yes, and thank you to Graham Lineham, and all the other cool twitterers (including men and trans women) who have saved me from feeling I'm actually going mad with all this. And MNetters here - I love you all.

It really does feel like the flat-earthers have gained control of NASA.

Terftastic · 06/03/2018 23:55

God - I've only scanned the thread - will read properly tomorrow. But I'm feeling proper rage.

FUCK you, Labour.

FUCK you Owen Jones and your pathetic misogyny and lack of any insight into women's experiences, and your fucking pretend feminism.

FUCK you, WEP.

FUCK you - all you twitter middle aged men who have transitioned in your 40's and 50's having had the advantages of being male up till then --- and then having the fucking nerve to put "Men's rights activist' or similar in your bio. And re-tweet a whole load of misogynistic crap while pretending to wear "woman" like a dress. You FUCKING frauds. You interlopers. You fucking women-haters.

Labour will never get my vote again while the Maomentum bros are in charge.

MsMalcontent · 06/03/2018 23:48

I have nothing to say as eloquent as others have posted.
But this fills me with rage and depression in equal measure.
I had a conversation about trans issues with a man I met recently, he instigated it for some reason. His argument wrapped me round in circles until I was literally speechless. For him - it was about winning the argument and putting me in my place. As men do.

SemaMjinga · 06/03/2018 23:23

creaturefeature and lemonjello....Etsy has started removing that merchandise, for being transphobic, i believe. Im not sure if it that specific seller...see if you are able to 'add to badket'?

Waddlelikeapenguin · 06/03/2018 23:14

you know that certainty that you're a woman? That's what trans women feel

@Lemonjello

Have a look at Etsy for some badges...

Well, pregnancy most certainly doesn't define a woman but having FEMALE BODY PARTS does. I feel very much like a woman tonight because I am cramping in my female uterus and bleeding out of my female vagina. Nothing going on in my 'female brain' though - I don't have one because they DONT EXIST (sorry for shouting)

holycheeseplant · 06/03/2018 22:32

I'm a teacher but don't feel I can do anything to protect the children in my care because I can't afford to lose my job.

Challenge stereotypes when ever you can.

ChocolateCoveredGrapes · 06/03/2018 22:32

You will find a way to protect the children in your care. I believe in you.

holycheeseplant · 06/03/2018 22:31

Fucking double speak.

There's 4 more replies I can't be arsed to look at. And this is a seemingly clever woman. (Admittedly I did say there was a time when I'd have agreed with her, before I truly learnt how much my/ our sex affects how my life plays out based on my sex, not gender leanings. And before at least half my friends had been through some sort of DV. I don't think she has the life experience.)

She ignored allllll my references to sport.

And a man was supporting my argument. Confused

qumquat · 06/03/2018 22:28

Love the Man Friday flyers! I am raging but also feel totally despairing. I'm a teacher but don't feel I can do anything to protect the children in my care because I can't afford to lose my job.

holycheeseplant · 06/03/2018 22:26

*you know that certainty that you're a woman? That's what trans women feel

But it really isnt though. Because my certainty comes from periods and pregnancies and miscarriages and giving birth and breast feeding and endometriosis*

Oh, I wasn't allowed to mention that cos it was 'biologically purist' and what about hysterectomies, pregnancy doesn't define a woman and what not.

Lottapianos · 06/03/2018 22:20

'You are the Quality Street of human beings. You used to be ace and now YOU ARE SHIT. '

Love this. Fabulous.

And THANK YOU Graham Linehan. I hope other well known names with a platform are brave enough to say the same thing

And yes yes yes to THE RAGE. The Girl Guides great big fuck you statement that I read today was the most depressing thing I have read for a while

thebewilderness · 06/03/2018 22:17

I resent the hell out of women being considered failed men. Women are not failed men and failed men are not women.

All this wonderful rage!

I am much cheerier today. Lovely venting thread.

holycheeseplant · 06/03/2018 22:01

Oh yes. I was told that - "you know that certainty that you're a woman? That's what trans women feel"

That gave me the rage. And we did have uterus, amenorrhoea, infertility bingo.

holycheeseplant · 06/03/2018 21:57

Reading the thread - one of those OJ tweets.
