Levice Flowers

OvaHere · 07/03/2018 16:06

Sorry that happened to you Leviceptra01966 Flowers

If you search back a few pages we have a thread called Trans Widows where quite a few women post who have been in abusive relationships with a trans identifying man. You might find that helpful if you want to talk further.

Leviceptra01966 · 07/03/2018 15:10

Hey if this post is in the wrong place tell me i'll move it. Makes me anxious just to have said it out loud

Leviceptra01966 · 07/03/2018 14:56

I am a domestic violence survivor(12yrs) I support the struggle because of the following. I got out of an exceptionally violent relationship.Dad died Bipolar kicked in harder. Put into a unit to get better.Met a lovely guy who understood me in hospital.Hey love you.Move in now. 6 months in he said we were having a "special dinner" 6 foot 5 guy walked in with a dress on playing with himself "Hi,I'm Summer" (name changed) I thought Hey I'm left wing I should understand this.Within 2 weeks he tried to get me to be beaten with a bamboo cane by him and his friends because of my "privilege" and also told me he was getting a custom made chastity belt and that the only 2 keys should be hung round my two young girls neck. I ran as far away as I could.Don't let them into our spaces. It's a terrifying thought.

sorry must clarify this para:

In Conservative run councils, 27% of voters of 2017 Labour voters thought Momentum were a force for ill. In Labour run councils 34% of of 2017 Labour voters thought Momentum were a force for ill. Yes a sizeable number thought they were a force for good, but sheer number who look on Momentum with a great deal of suspicion is significant.

RedToothBrush · 07/03/2018 14:13

Woman I thought that Lord Ashcroft's most recent poll was interesting. It should be a wake up call for the Labour leadership, but it won't be.

Ashcroft is a Tory. He is LOOKING for things that the Conservatives can focus on and capitalise on. So although you should take his polls with a pinch of salt, you should also be aware of why there is also a need for him to not be miles out too.

He asked the question, do you know who Momentum are to 2017 Labour and 2017 Conservative voters. He split them into whether each of these voters were in conservative run councils and labour run councils to make four groups in total. A sizeable number of voters didn't know who Momentum were, but a majority did to varying degrees.

He then went on to ask a second question to all those who did know who Momentum were; whether they thought that Momentum were a force for good or a force for ill. This is where the result is quite stark.

In Conservative run councils, 27% of voters thought Momentum were a force for ill. In Labour run councils 34% of voters thought Momentum were a force for ill. Yes a sizeable number thought they were a force for good, but sheer number who look on Momentum with a great deal of suspicion is significant.

That will be what is being picked up on YouGov's polling about the Labour vote being 'soft' and not as loyal as the Conservative vote. They have been consistently showing that 20% of women are not sure who they will vote for. They perhaps will lean more towards Labour, but there is no guarantee they will vote Labour or vote at all. There is a big question mark hanging there for a LOT of people. Not a small number.

Polling outside GE's isn't well understood. People look at the headlines and not the detail. They tend to be a lot less accurate because they don't push 'don't knows' to make a decision except for the final few polls - and getting this right is key to getting closest to the actual result. 20% of women voters being 'don't knows' and being discounted from the headline figures they are currently producing mean the polls are potentially WAY off the mark.

A lot of it will be related to other issues, but the trans activism is most definitely from the Momentum part of the party primarily and is very indicative of it, so what Ashcroft is showing really should set alarm bells ringing for Labour.

It shows an underlying fear of the direction Labour are taking. If Labour fail to address that, it WILL do them harm, because they can not rely on the vote.

This is why, it is absolutely right to do anything you can NOW, to make the point and make Labour listen, if you are labour leaning BEFORE we get anywhere near a GE. This isn't playing to Tory hands to do it now. Its saving Labour from its own naval gazing bullshit.

Labour has failed women.
woman11017 · 07/03/2018 13:30

#labourlosingwomen has to be affecting their polling; dropping away.

Labour has failed women.
SnibbleAgain · 07/03/2018 10:58

Oh yes of course, obviously they'll do it tomorrow.

Should have realsied, they are just trolling women at this point for a laugh.

rememberthetime · 07/03/2018 10:47

to what extent has this mass exodus been communicated to the media - do they know what is planned for tomorrow? Will it be covered?

I wish I was a labour member so I could leave too. I've always floated politically - but I am pretty close to floating away completely.

gussyfinknottle · 07/03/2018 10:46

If it was any other group it would be called appropriation and the appropriater would be told to stop bossing that group around and imposing their situation on the group. They may also be told to fuck off.
Not when someone starts telling women what to do, it seems.

OvaHere · 07/03/2018 10:43

At least once it's announced as policy with all the associated fanfare it will start gaining publicity beyond internal party politics.

The MSM will be able to report on it as a factual Labour policy rather than something which is rumoured and made up of twitter posts.

We might also hear further backtracking from the Tories once Labour have enshrined it in their own policy. I would be very surprised if they don't see this as an opportunity to position themselves as the 'sensible' party.

RedToothBrush · 07/03/2018 10:33

It'll be tomorrow to prove how they are oh so progressive about 'extending the rights of women'.

Whilst throwing them under the bus.

LangCleg · 07/03/2018 10:29

My CLP is even worse, TruScum. They think self-ID is a crock of shite but are too intimidated to pass a motion against it. I'm so infuriated by the sheer cowardice.

OvaHere · 07/03/2018 10:29

I read elsewhere it was going to be announced tomorrow to coincide with International Womens Day.

Which seems likely because it's the ultimate in gaslighting behaviour.

SnibbleAgain · 07/03/2018 10:23

Has this announcement actually happened yet then?

woman11017 · 07/03/2018 06:59

Women, especially carer women, are the penurious class. Money talks. Labour is only listening to the men with money from all quarters. Inside and outside the party.

HelenaDove · 07/03/2018 01:03

I TOTALLY agree with Upstart Crow The demonization of social housing tenants has got much worse over the past 8 years.

UpstartCrow · 07/03/2018 00:48

miri1985 Linda was surprised there has been an announcement so I assume that means he hasn't.

OlennasWimple · 07/03/2018 00:40

I just put this on another thread, so apols for the duplication, but Pligrim has just had this published in the Huff Post about why Labour has got this wrong

miri1985 · 07/03/2018 00:09

Does anyone know did Corbyn ever talk to Linda Bellos about this like he said he would?

thebewilderness · 06/03/2018 23:40

They found some women's right they can all get behind. "Transwomen's" rights. Kinda like women only better cuz they are men.

TerfyMcTerface · 06/03/2018 22:37

Just published on the Guardian website: Harriet Harman hails the rise of feminist MPs. In the Tory party. Well, it wasn’t going to be in her own party, was it?

The rest of the world will see what we achieved, we will win this, we keep going because we will inspire.

Mouthtrousersafrocknowandthen · 06/03/2018 22:25

We have reached the point where the implications of self expression, coercion, mental health, healthcare, equality and representation have melded into something very few people can navigate. This is a self actualisation dilemma that politics cannot deal with. Women as a sex must deal with this, we must build on what we we do already. We always have had power and we have always had it taken away from us. Stop participating in that. 8 billion humans, 4 billion male, 4 billion female.

The 4 billion female cohort will not accept any more transgressions. The 4 billion men are going to have to listen and and catch up pronto. Its a project for them, women are the project manager, men are the analysts. They can tell us what they propose and we will decide it they they have found the right answer.

They will not do that unless we set out clear instructions on how we expect this to be managed. I do think it is the females sex's duty to make this absolutely clear. We cannot rely on them to figure this out. They have demonstrated their inability to do this repeatedly.

Our boundaries must be recognised. They have no choice. Stop giving them a choice.

ChocolateCoveredGrapes · 06/03/2018 21:58

I am proud of all the others who fought this evil, it was an honour to know such souls.
