Some men are committing crimes in OTHER MEN'S NAME ??

So is this what you think ?

It is a tactic of coercive control to make counter accusations

Evidence, Puh-lease.

DARVO. Deny, Accuse, Reverse Victim and Offender. Perhaps you could read up on domestic abuse. Its not just about physical violence,

What does differences in opinion are not acceptable mean? That most of us don't agree with you? Isn't that us acknowledging a difference?

thebewilderness · 25/02/2018 21:48

4th rule of misogyny: Women's opinions are violence against men thus male violence against women is justified.

sawdustformypony · 25/02/2018 21:44

Yes, I remember the 'echo chamber' thread - differences in opinion are not acceptable.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 25/02/2018 21:40

Unlikely. IfNot's comment represents a majority view around here.

Misogyny = male violence and exploitative behaviour towards women and girls

Misandry = women calling this out

Gwenhwyfar · 25/02/2018 21:40

There's more misandry in Relationships than here.

sawdustformypony · 25/02/2018 21:31

Until then just fuck off.

Careful - someone might just accuse you of preventing issues being discussed

IfNot · 25/02/2018 21:28

I can't even be arsed to read the whole thread ( and have only recently found out what misandry means) but when 2 men a week are murdered by their partners, when nearly every man you meet has a story about being raped/ assaulted/ harrassed or denied a job because they were a man, when men are earning less ( while facilitating women to earn more), judged day and night on being young and sexual, or for daring to get visibly old, dismissed for having any opinion that differentiates them from a doormat, and are derided for caring that they are dismissed THEN come crying to me about "misandry"
Until then just fuck off.

sawdustformypony · 25/02/2018 21:20

If....

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 25/02/2018 21:17

If your contribution to the conversation about male violence against women and girls consists of attempts to prevent these issues from being discussed on feminist sites ... then you are not part of the solution.

sawdustformypony · 25/02/2018 20:37

If women were killing and abusing men at the same rate men were doing it to women, you can bet your life I would stand up and speak out....NOT IN MY NAME! Men seem to prefer to stay silent and do nothing in case they get attacked too. Cowards, are they?

Some men are committing crimes in OTHER MEN'S NAME ?? Err...No..not even maybe.

mamaryllis · 25/02/2018 19:49

That’s not the one full of ex-mners though (well, some current too). The sub reddit where they are all gather to discuss posters without the heavy hand of moderation and then drop in to stir up shite and go back to Reddit to brag about it. There are s few posters on there who I thought much better of, but I won’t them lest I resort to similar non-U behaviour.

To be honest, I don’t think many new male posters need instructions on how to be obnoxious. They seem to be naturally gifted at it.

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 25/02/2018 19:05

That mumsnet sucks site..

Ask why women who have admitted they have no children are more welcome than a father who does not call himself a feminist? Does that make him a wife-beater? If they ask you how you know so much as a newbie, say you’ve been reading for years but never signed up. If they say this is some refuge from a male dominated world, suggest it is not a site for parents then.

Hmm

Seems like a page to encourage MRAs to join and just troll MN tbh. How sad.

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 25/02/2018 19:02

Honestly, I see 'misandry' as the same as 'reverse racism' and 'transmisogyny'

I have seen some comments that seem anti-male rather than anti-male violence. They tend to be deleted though or a lot of posters will answer them. I don't see 'misandry' going unchecked. Mind , if someone thinks pointing out that 98% of sexual assaults/rapes are committed by men is misandry, as many seem to, then of course they will see a lot of 'misandry' here.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 25/02/2018 18:15

Well I think OP's point is proven. Not a lot of misandry about unless misandry consists of pointing out that most violence is committed by males.

vesuvia · 25/02/2018 17:47

CritEqual wrote - "given that women kill and hit more children than men do".

Where is this supposed to be the case? What is the source of your claim?
It would be an absurd claim to make about women and children in war zones such as Syria.

Here is the situation in the UK:
Findings from most in-depth study into UK parents who kill their children - University of Manchester's 2013 report

which concludes that "fathers were significantly more likely to kill their children than mothers".

Also, I think that, in terms of amount of contact time, children are at much greater risk of harm from men.

It is a tactic of coercive control to make counter accusations

Evidence, Puh-lease.

CritEqual · 25/02/2018 17:14

A British retrospective prevalence study of 2669 young adults aged 18-24 (May-Chahal & Cawson, 2005) found that mothers were more likely than fathers to be responsible for physical abuse 49 per cent of incidents compared to 40 per cent).

mamaryllis · 25/02/2018 16:56

I'm mildly entertained by the notion that poor men are forced to act as protectors to the weak, ergo suggesting that they are disposable and worthless and should throw themselves in harm's way.
The reality being, of course, that men have consistently and eternally sought to uphold this as an absolute rule, and not just imposed laws and policies that prevent women from engaging, but trussed them up in corsets and other assorted lady wear that actively ensures their complicity. You only have to have some pesky woman want in on the action before all the men turn up to explain why it just isn't possible.

But never mind that. Women kill more children? Evidence, puh-lease.

LangCleg · 25/02/2018 16:32

I'd also point at the CDC figures for intimate partner violence

Why would feminists on a UK message board want statistics from an ultra-violent, ultra-patriarchal society such as the United States?

98% of those convicted of domestic violence in the UK are male. It is a tactic of coercive control to make counter accusations as a further way to abuse women attempting to leave, so allegations are not usually used in policy planning.

Lesbian-on-lesbian violence in the UK so rare that it is statistically insignificant.

Patodp · 25/02/2018 16:23

1st rule of misogyny.
Anything bad a man does is women's fault.

Patodp · 25/02/2018 16:23

I'd also point at the CDC figures for intimate partner violence within lesbian relationships places it at a significantly higher proportion than women in hetererosexual relationships. With gay men being the least likely. I'm not sure how lesbian violence can be men's fault.

I've come across a totally different record that identifies how male homosexual relationships are far more likely to result in homicide than lesbian relationships.

And have you completely ignored he 2 women a week being killed by their male partner in England just to say " women do it to" Hmm
