...please could I ask exactly what was your lightbulb moment? What did you hear or read that pushed you to our alpine slopes?

If self ID is is implemented, there is going to be violent fall out sooner rather than later, for example if a TIM decided to shower next to young girls with an erection, how soon do you think it will take for a parent to give that TIM a pasting? It will happen.

AutumnalTed · 05/03/2018 09:46

I think I peaked fairly recently reading this board. No issue with genuine trans people.
HOWEVER letting men into female spaces? I understand they want a safe space, but compromising my spaces? No thankyou. Do I want to get changed after swimming next to a flapping penis? Not really. The thought actually scares me to my core. I get that not all men are rapists, but after a shitty relationship I tend to think anyone has the ability to do this, and do I believe it should be made easier to access women when they’re vulnerable? No way.

AngryAttackKittens · 05/03/2018 09:41

Diagrams of the female reproductive system are "disturbing". Try to be a bit less obvious about being a misogynistic little shit, eh, Lily?

BlooperReel · 05/03/2018 09:38

I need to lay off twitter, I am almost certain it's raising my blood pressure.

doctorcuntybollocks · 04/03/2018 08:21

There's no end to the peaking.
The modern trans movement is the Himalayas of WTF.

Chocolate1984 · 04/03/2018 08:08

This is my moment.

Like Scientology, anti-vaxxers and climate change deniers all rolled into one yes! This!

The mind boggles... and hasn't stop boggling for a year or so now! The anger and sometimes fear comes and goes but the boggles are constant. What are these folk on?!

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 03/03/2018 19:32

toot

Some people on there are very, very stupid

I know i am supposed to be polite

drspouse · 03/03/2018 19:24

Can anyone point me to a primer on the self-id and Labour women's shortlist issue? I think DH has some catching up to do.

Tootsweets23 · 01/03/2018 13:38

I peaked in the mid 2000s (such an early adopter, me) when a very macho/narcissistic hetero neighbour with a penis wore dresses and decided that allowed him to use the women's toilets in the local pub (in a very hipster/gay friendly area not a dockyard, so no one gave a shit beyond thinking he was quite full of himself). I told him he can wear what he wants because I agree that gender stereotypes are bullshit, but this is a women's space to be free of men no matter what they wore. He did not like it and pretended to cry like a child with his bottom lip out and said with a lisp "but I am a girl". I couldn't put into words or even thoughts how instinctively offended I was that he thought dresses and the women's toilets was all that being female was about.

I read this post below today. It documents such a deranged world view. I can't believe organisations, charities, politicians etc are going along with a vocal bunch of campaigners who are so clearly detached from reality. Like Scientology, anti-vaxxers and climate change deniers all rolled into one.

Deadline for consultation about the GRA in Scotland is 1st March. Anyone around the country can complete this however. Please do!

It carried on a bit before I was blocked for making violent threats as you can see

no wait actually this was it!

If you've only recently 'peaked'....
expatmatt78 · 01/03/2018 00:14

I thought I had already but it may have been last night when I was engaged by a few on twitter and told among other things

"GRA form doesnt effect (typo) you"
Because I am not trans
And after being really polite was told
"your version of debate is insulting, misgendering and threats of violence"
When i asked they could provide no evidence.

Then they started going on about (actual) women who were placed in mens jails because they were troublesome. They couldnt actually provide evidence but apparently that was semantics as they had said "technically" this had happened.

I also had someone explaining to me that the only change to the GRA was that they no longer needed a process involving doctors and a list of criteria. I tried to explain well THAT is the problem!

Is anyone else exhausted since hitting #peak trans? I am obsessed with reading and thinking about it. I keep wondering when the general public (outside my MN & Twitter bubbles) will understand what is going on... I hit peak trans every time I go online!

My peak trans moment today has been reading about the man that killed his boyfriend and then attempted to rape a woman within days of being released. Now he's a trans woman. This violent sex offender & killer was then invited to speak at the House of Lords...sorry for the DF link but what the actual fuck is going on?!!

Back when Feminists spoke out against the rape torture and abuse in pornography the lefty d00dz accused us of being prudes and in bed with the right wing. They know we are right, just as they knew it then, so they call us collaborators with their "enemy" to silence us.
Male violence is the greatest human rights crisis the world has ever known.

It scares me that only the Christian Right in America seems to be sounding alarm bells about trans abuse of women's safe spaces.
If you are unhappy about it you are automatically deemed to be a trump supporting stepford wife.

Yambabe · 20/02/2018 13:03

For me, it was of all people Eddie Izzard.

He's of the same generation as me, and in my mind he has always been a heterosexual man who just happened to like wearing make-up and heels (and the occasional dress). The original transvestite then, and I have never had any issue with this, in fact I thought he was pretty brave to be doing it in the 80s and he was responsible for a lot of people relaxing their attitudes towards cross-dressing. A lot of people mistakenly conflated it with homosexuality too, but people were becoming more accepting of that as well, so all good.

The I hear him being interviewed on the radio and rabbiting on about him being "the first properly 'out' trans as he'd been doing it since the 80s" and describing how some days he felt more "womanly" than others and I just thought - fuck right off you idiot. You're jumping on a bandwagon to try and keep some relevance in these modern times, all those years you never wanted to "be" a woman and always used to say that you just wanted to be accepted as a cross-dressing man, which you were! You're not trans, not in my understanding of what trans is anyway.

So I started to read more here, and I started to understand...... then I started to worry......

cheminotte · 18/02/2018 16:54

For me it was Jenni Murray pointing out (in the Times I think) that being a woman was about more than lipstick and dresses and getting told off by the BBC for it.

Thanks to the Good Morning Britain clip posted earlier, I'd heard about IWs Not all men comment but not seen it. Piers Morgan did at least seem to have a healthy amount of scepticism and mentioned TiMs competing in women's sport.

thebewilderness · 17/02/2018 21:35

Only males can be transwomen so heterosexual males who identify as Lesbians are often called pretendbians.

ijustwannadance · 17/02/2018 13:55

Funny how they aren't triggered by their own lady dicks though isn't it.

stitchglitched · 17/02/2018 13:48

I read an explanation from one who said that transwomen who are lesbians find it too 'triggering' to see another transwoman's penis. Presumably actual lesbians should be fine with penis though.

Reminds me of that man on twitter who was enthusiastically telling women that transwomen are women until the suggestion that he date one came up. Nobody really believes this nonsense.

ijustwannadance · 17/02/2018 13:47

No, because they are straight men not gay men. So yet another contradiction.

They have a 'lady' penis yet they wouldn't have sex with one belonging to another pretend lesbian.

gussyfinknottle · 17/02/2018 13:46

When? When, like a pp, realised that most MTF keep their penis. Isn't that called being a transvestite?
