Seperate trans officer role for labour

London young labour have passed a motion for the creation of a seperate trans officer role as well as continuing to support self iding women for all female shortlists

  • so more jobs for men then!!

What's the proportion of transgender people compared to women and men?
It seems like there is a disproportionate amount of platform for this - but I don't know the numbers, so perhaps there is not?

I am/(was?) a hard-line & militant Labour/Corbyn supporter. But after some decades I'm not even sure if I'd vote Labour.

I would put a hundred quid on the person chosen fo the role being male. Cannot see it benefitting transmen somehow. When its they who are actually underrepresented, both as transmen and as females.

I think a separate trans officer would be a great idea if in conjunction with keeping all female shortlists for women. Disappointed this is not the case.

I wait to see how many transmen get appointmented to this new position Hmm

Should we all apply then? I identify as agender- I think gender is idiotic misogynistic crap. I am not a Labour member and will not vote for them until they sort themselves out, but I suppose I can self-ID as a member for the time being.
