Interesting and thoughtful article

Oh that wasn't an anecdote TERFousBreakdown it was quite widely reported in alt-media.

I feel we've now moved beyond mere Left and Right now... it's about sane people and the patently unhinged and authoritarian.

As western Feminists are celebrating the Hijab - brave women in Iran are daring to take theirs off... again, this shouldn't be a difficult thing to fathom, and yet our MSM is spinning so many lies now people don't appear to know their proverbial arse from their elbow, preferring to be cosseted in comforting lies and diverted by the nonsense narratives of overpaid shills in the press.

Owen Jones says we are a homophobic nation.

The country that made international superstars of Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Elton John and Boy George.

Yeah. Right.

I think the UK is an OwneJonesophobic nation. People are sick to death with this (and his) vapid Lefty diatribes.

Oh - and I have such a story about Guardian Media, and the very beginnings of the Trans Rights Activist rent-a-mob. It was a set up, and they hung Julie Burchill out to dry wit malice aforethought.

I was there.

AngryAttackKittens · 05/02/2018 23:43

I spent years keeping Manic Panic in business, and now I find myself side-eyeing anyone with candy colored hair out of suspicion that they might start babbling about Judith Butler. It sucks feeling alienated from what used to feel like your community.

infamousT · 05/02/2018 23:40

Wholeheartedly agreed AngryAttackKittens

It's left me wondering if I'm trans at all to be frank! I have SO little in common with these people.

AngryAttackKittens · 05/02/2018 23:39

That's the one thing on which I think we most likely are in complete agreement, that postmodernism is pretty much the worst thing to ever happen to academia. Whole generations of people whose ability to reason has been shortcircuited.

infamousT · 05/02/2018 23:39

Hi NaturalWoman well, it's been quite the eye opener for me here - I would never have thought about hopping on before - indeed, never even visited before!

I was a single father for 7 years though - so I have some credentials. ;)

AngryAttackKittens · 05/02/2018 23:37

Someone on here described current trans activism as cutting through goodwill like a buzzsaw, and that's pretty accurate. There's a hardcore of pomo addled young people who're 100% on board, but for most people all it's doing is making them associate trans people with manipulation, bullying, and hysterical overreaction to pretty much everything. Smart to separate yourself before the backlash comes, honestly.

infamousT · 05/02/2018 23:34

awww s'no probs SpartacusNo1467895

My skin is so thick now, I'm beyond caring. I'm a jeans and a tee-shirt type, and was cajoled into doing some candid x rated shots of myself - that's the in-group pressure, and when I was about to be repossessed I was cajoled into prostituting myself, which I did three times before attempting to take my own life as detailed in that Standard article from a few years back (utterly awful picture).

I don't recognise this narrative they are shoving down everyone's throats - and find the targeting of kids utterly insidious. I have to keep speaking out about it.

I don't know how I think of myself now - I could claim almost all of their nonsense words for myself, but refuse. As I say: bad politicking - doing no one any good, least of all themselves. More fool them.

TERFousBreakdown · 05/02/2018 23:26

A woman's 12 year old daughter was raped in front of her eyes by a migrant recently, and she didn't report it because she was scared of being called a racist.

I'm going to have to side with Angry on this one and respectfully (this part is sort of important) disagree on the basis that I am a die-hard lefty, a nerd and as such not easily swayed by anecdotes. Especially not about Sweden, which applies broader than average criteria for what constitutes rape. Which I actually happen to agree with but acknowledge are a bit of a statistical pitfall.

Having said that, we disagree - so what? Supposedly happens quite frequently ...

AngryAttackKittens · 05/02/2018 23:08

Tamsin reminds me of the trans women I met 20 years ago, before the whole thing went to shit.

BarrackerBarmer · 05/02/2018 23:07

Welcome to mumsnet Infamous T. That was a great article.

I really must go and wrap some birthday presents, but before I do, I wanted to say a couple of things.

First: Whilst their voices are louder and more vitriolic, we do and will continue to outnumber them. I don't underestimate the depth of woman hating in society. But half of us are women. And we will eventually find that self-preservation instinct, as the true nature of this cult starts to reveal itself, which it inevitably does. More women hit #PeakTrans every week, and this is escalating.
And men are torn - there are many men who are fathers, and this holds them back from placing their daughters in danger despite their conflicting desire to put other women in their place.
And most importantly, there are good, moral, thinking people out there.
I have a feeling that the UK will be the first country in a global movement to break ranks and push this back, although it won't happen any time soon.

And second, do please stick around Mumsnet. Your voice is needed. You need to know you are far from isolated in your thoughts. Women, and gender critical transexuals like yourself are starting to network, and we're getting better at doing it effectively. Mostly in secret groups, and with a few extraordinarily brave spokespeople putting their heads above the parapet to shout this debate into the public arena. Mumsnet is the only public forum where this debate can happen like this. It cannot be overstated the critical part it has played in enabling the conversation to happen. (I've even forgiven them for suspending me that time Grin )

These are scary times, but things are also exciting. Women have found something worth fighting for, and we are fighting hard now.

Do stick around.

infamousT sorry I was referencing a thread on here today where a lovely gentleman came on and said we were all evil because his friend was more 'feminine' looking than Linda Bellos which meant, well actually at that point he lost me to the red mist because it has NOTHING to do with how feminine anyone looks. We aren't that far apart in age and it doesn't matter what you, or I, look like I just got the rage that someone had come on here and decided that how feminine we looked should be the be all and end all. You can be captain of the rugby team or be bald (I've been there through medication - the hair not the rugby) and if you want to dress in jeans or dresses it really shouldn't matter one jot. I am only very sad that how you were caused you psychological torment, that's shit and unfair especially as you've been through so much to only be slightly happier than you were before. Someone I've known since she was a little boy is currently facing changing their 'configuration' for the same reason and the fact that the new wave are making life harder for her is just making me so cross I don't always come across well in type. As is probably shown by my confusing mismatch of pronouns there.

You should really start a new thread about Cryptocurrency somewhere as well, it's fascinating and terrifying all at the same time, be nice to have someone who can talk about it educate me a little bit. The human faeces is making me so angry, I just don't understand how anyone could do that to another human pure bullying behaviour.

I like you @Infamous T.

Thank you for being a voice of common sense and reason in this war against women Flowers Wine

I'm terrified about where this is heading.

I hope you'll stick around x

infamousT · 05/02/2018 22:56

Agreed rowdywoman1

If one cannot debate a clear point and back it up with useful data, then one should shut up. What happened to Jacob Rees-Mogg the other night was deplorable - and indicative of Corbyn's Hard Left - which is why I'll have nothing to do with him and his Antifa thugs.

It may be Communism - but heck - in the 21st Century, it's Fascism too. What a time to be alive, eh?

infamousT · 05/02/2018 22:53

Yes indeed AngryAttackKittens I have literally jut been watching it. Unhinged loon. Nowt to do with me. Quite the entry on Kiwifarms, eh?

Colour me unsurprised.

This is why I don't have anything to do with Feminism. It's not my place to - and one look at the rapey record of so-called male feminists and how they are shielded in Hollywood by people like the odious Clinton should be enough for anyone to put that particular banner down and back away through the stench of hypocrisy.

infamousT · 05/02/2018 22:49

Hi Ereshkigal I called them out, simply. Been at this game longer than them... my account is held in frozen state - they didn't tell me why I was banned either. Think I touched a few raw nerves.

I don't like fascism - and can spot it a mile off - even if it is waving a rainbow flag... makes no difference. Bad politics.

The backlash against LGBTXYZETC is on the horizon, and they'll deserve ALL they get - they asked for it, I warned them... but I'm a heretic. It won't be petty when it comes... and it'll have NOTHING to do with 'homophobia', (nor 'transphobia' or 'Islamophobia') it's merely be anti-authoritarian. You can only call people racist nazis for so long without a leg to stand on before people get rather miffed.

Especially if you are shutting down their free speech and throwing them in jail for saying naughty things on Twitter as our capital city becomes the acid attack capital of the free world.

It's not rocket science.

infamousT · 05/02/2018 22:42

SpartacusNo1467895

I was captain of my school rugby team - and I started going bald at 23. My 'hair', if I can be bothered, comes out of a box and as I get older, I hardly wear makeup anymore... I look like an fairly androgynous middle aged bloke and everyone misgenders me ALL the time. I live with it. This was about me and my relationship with my genitals - not that I ever particularly wanted a vagina, (and I'm not so insulting as to claim that's what I have), and I never fetishised the notion - it scared the livin' bejebus outta me - it's just that my previous configuration caused me enormous psychological torment. I'm not that type, and have had absolutely no sexual contact since my operation - not even with myself. It does me head in - only slightly less than before.

I am painfully aware of what I look like.

I've leaned Left(ish) all my life - but across the world now, the Left has gone into unhinged communist mode - and that murdered 120,000,000 people last century. I stand against it and prefer the option of reshaping Capitalism - which Blockchain and Cryptocurrency WILL do if given the chance. I used to be in business, but found that THAT simply wasn't allowed - can't have any independent successful transwomen running businesses now can we? Spoils the victimhood narrative. Unwilling to take my place at the bottom of the progressive stack, I've been smeared, vilified, excommunicated and at the end of last year had human faeces stuffed unceremoniously into my letterbox - so I know the Hard Left know where I live, and I don't want a bike lock around the back of the head thanks. I'm centre Left Libertarian about the same a Gandhi on the political compass.... because, y'know - I'm a Nazi. LOL ;)

Ereshkigal · 05/02/2018 22:39

I've chatted to you before on Twitter, Infamous. I didn't realise you'd been banned. What for?

rowdywoman1 · 05/02/2018 22:34

Yes, yes Inthishouse.
I have struggled to remember when we have seen in this country such deliberate and planned attempts to silence and censor views in a democracy.
That any political group could dare to have a slogan #nodebate and to be taken seriously is unbelievable.
So thank you for posting InfamousT Diversity, difference and non conformity is just what we need - not sinister threats, oppression and silencing. Look forward to seeing you post in the future,

AngryAttackKittens · 05/02/2018 22:31

I'm way too much of a lefty not to disagree with Infamous on many things, but rather a person with whom I can disagree (even vigorously! I quite like arguing) than someone whose default responses are either insincere love bombing or rape and death threats.

Did you see the angry shouty TRA with the pastel purple hair who attempted to shout down Rose McGowan, Infamous? I was just going, hmm, a dude with a history of preying on young girls who wants the age of consent lowered or done away with, I wonder why he wouldn't like what she has to say? It's so obvious that I'm not sure how people brainwash themselves into not seeing it.

Inthishouse · 05/02/2018 22:23

Hi Infamous! Really enjoyed your article and reading your comments on this thread.
I must say that there are probably many things I would disagree with you on politically but your voice has reminded me how refreshing it is to hear someone express themselves eloquently and thoughtfully even if I am in disagreement. The shrieking hysteria of the transactivist community crushes reasoned debate which is exactly the thing we need at this point!

SpartacusNo1467895 · 05/02/2018 22:06

infamousT you are keeping my blood pressure at safer levels.

I'm an individual too and we shouldn't have to apologise because you can't put humans in a box, every single one of us has a unique take on what it means to be a human and we should celebrate and support that not try and stuff giant labels on it.

Today I wore big boots, old jeans and a really warm but 'tired' hoody with my hair in a giant beautiful mass of shiny waves and perfect expensive make up. Because that's what I felt like today. According to the mansplaining thread I don't know what 'gender' I'm required to ID as right now how 'feminine' does that make me? I'm a public school girl liberal lefty terf. With great hair.

infamousT · 05/02/2018 22:00

If you want to say something to someone directly, just put asterisks around their name. Same if you want to quote someone.

infamousT · 05/02/2018 21:28

Still trying to fathom how to reply to specific comments here - so apologies if I get muddled. I suppose I should be up front - point one is that Country Squire were the ONLY UK publication willing to publish my thoughts - and are quite a-hem Right leaning - but hey ho, at least the editor showed some proverbial cohunes.

I've fallen out of love and out of favour with The Left ever since Corbyn and his Neomarxist bully boys got into power, and rarely go outside now as I do NOT want to be mistaken for a 'transperson'. I have lost many friends on both sides of the political divide as things have become more polarised - I am not a fan of the EU, and am a staunch supporter of Democracy, the Rule of Law and Freedom of Speech, no matter how unpalatable - I need no Nanny to protect me from naughty words.

I supported 2nd Wave Feminism, and was actually quite a admirer of Germaine Greer in my 'guy-time', and was rather cut to the quick when I found out her thoughts on the subject of trans... though she appears more correct in her assessment as the days roll by.

I see 3rd Wave intersectionality as nothing more than a social cancer that serves neither women or men - as is evidenced by the 'centering' of transgender rights... I like and enjoy the company of Men - and have found that it is those accused of 'toxic masculinity' that are most accommodating, courteous , polite and respectful, (real men); whilst the smooth skinned camp 'soy-boys' of the Left are often utterly demeaning, disrespectful and sometimes downright insulting.

So, I'm quite the odd fish really.

I follow world events closely online, (been online since '96) and prefer 'horses mouth' reports on the ground to any of the puerile, vapid nonsense served up by mainstream media.

I enjoy playing Devil's Advocate, and actually couldn't care less about anyone's sexuality or creed or ethnicity - preferring to judge people as individuals. Apparently that get's right up people's noses now... everyone can find an axe to grind lurking in the cupboard with the skeletons - I'm more future focused...

If I don't agree - I speak out. Even if it is to my own detriment; which it often is nowadays. I think it's insulting to all the women I've ever known to claim to be the same as them - but conversely, I think it just as insulting to all the men I've known to do the same to them too.

I defy classification. I'm an individual. Just me - unapologetically so.
