I suspect the issue of being incarcerated based on gender identity in Canada may be the point at which trans identified females say wait just one effing minute.

DixieFlatline · 04/02/2018 15:25

Also shared on my FB, no response either!

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 04/02/2018 14:13

I had the same olenna. Im beginning to wonder if people have hidden my posts Grin

hackmum · 04/02/2018 13:55

"Or are we expected to believe that these violent brutish men who are lurking in toilets waiting for transwomen so they can beat the stuffing out of them would give a transman a free pass?"

Who knows? None of it is very logical, is it? See also the fact that transwomen don't want to use men's toilets because they're frightened of violent men, but when women say they want to protect women-only spaces because they're frightened of violent men, they're told not to be so silly and women are just as violent as men.

HerFemaleness · 04/02/2018 13:48

Re. tampon machines in the mens loo's.

I'm thinking out loud here.

We are told transwomen can't use the men's loo's because they're at risk from violent men will be viciously attack them soon as look at them.

Tampon machines in men's loos' will make said vicious violent men very aware that not all who are in there are biologically male

Wouldn't this put transmen at risk as well as small effeminate looking men?

Or are we expected to believe that these violent brutish men who are lurking in toilets waiting for transwomen so they can beat the stuffing out of them would give a transman a free pass?

OlennasWimple · 04/02/2018 13:38

I shared the article on my FB and have got no responses whatsoever. I can't tell if that's a good or bad thing, but at least I haven't been accused of being a bigot

Justabunchofcunts · 04/02/2018 12:22

Empress I think this and the other tweets about this have got a bit lost in this thread. Am going to copy and paste and put in a new thread suggesting people show support.

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 04/02/2018 12:00

Good on you, Elfride.

ElfrideSwancourt · 04/02/2018 11:47

Thanks @EmpressOfJurisfiction I think I'll be brave and share it.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 04/02/2018 11:45

Thank you, Empress! Naughty Larry! There was a photo and lots of bad puns and everything :)

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 04/02/2018 11:37

Elfride, if you share a link with a sharetoken in it, like this one www.thetimes.co.uk/article/labour-s-purge-of-the-trans-rights-heretics-p32khgn36?shareToken=e724162e3ce8e2821f897c734dd2f7e2 then anyone can read it.

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 04/02/2018 11:34

There is an article in the Times about Larry the Cat and his inability to catch mice. I don't suppose anyone has a sharetoken .

Go on then...

OvaHere · 04/02/2018 11:30

I have some small hope that the TIFs will eventually play a large part in bringing this shit down. The biggest jump in referrals to gender clinics in recent years has been young girls and I think the majority of them will desist at some point (and probably peak trans).

Sadly not before a lot of irreversible damage has been done to female bodies but I can see that collectively their voices may form an important part of a future backlash.

Ereshkigal · 04/02/2018 11:24

Is it me or is that a bit bloody obvious in how totally trivialised the 'rights of transmen' bit is? Transwomen get Everything. Transmen with shh! vaginas well we'll stuff a tampon machine in the loo, that's our single objective for you and as big as the vision gets where you're concerned. And we just haven't got around to it anyway because the transwomen are so much more important. How interesting is it anyway that Bex pretty much says here the transwomen will decide what the transmen need, get, and when, and where they fit on the priority list?

Exactly this, and the likes of Bex Stinson aren't self aware enough to realise how they are doing this.

ElfrideSwancourt · 04/02/2018 11:21

Such a well-written article- if I share it on fb will people be able to read all of it?
I hate that I'm scared to share it but I feel so strongly about this issue.

hipsterfun · 04/02/2018 11:04

Delightful.

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 04/02/2018 10:51

If anyone's inclined to show Margot James some love on Twitter right now it would probably be a good thing! She's going to get a lot of flack.

Datun · 04/02/2018 10:42

Is that the same Sarah Brown who said you can suck my formaldehyde pickled balls?

Myunicornfliessideways · 04/02/2018 10:27

Women in situtions of vulnerability should not be coerced to put their feelings, needs and history in a box so they can nurture the feelings, needs and history of the person who has been employed to provide a service to them. Anyone working in that field for the right reasons would get this. It's like the twat who fought through the courts for years for the right to counsel raped women who did not want to be counselled by him: his right to access those women and be allowed to overcome that boundary trumped any professional interest or care he had for his potential clients.

This view was attacked by trans campaigner Sarah Brown, who said it “punishes vulnerable trans women for hypothetical acts of infiltration by men claiming to be trans women”.

Sarah Brown would be much happier if vulnerable women just shut up and took the punishment of assaults and abuse if those hypothetical acts by men claiming to be TIMs. Here's a radical idea Sarah: how about a third option where no one's 'punished' or a victim to male violence at all, instead of arguing who has to get the shitty end of the stick?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 04/02/2018 10:22

Seems like Justine G. is getting the message. That would have been unthinkable a year ago. We've come a long way. Now it is time to lobby WA. Social media, petitions, emails ...

RedToothBrush · 04/02/2018 10:21

I know.

Fucking horrendous.

Datun · 04/02/2018 10:07

RedToothBrush

They are reviewing their policy and taking into account whether self identified men can become counsellors?!

Dear lord. This is a dream come true for predators and AGP individuals everywhere.

NO man who thinks the definition of woman is a feeling, a cloak to don, a stereotype, or a turn on should be anywhere near vulnerable women. As a fucking counsellor?

Surely these woman will not allow that to happen?! They are at the coalface of violence against women.

RedToothBrush · 04/02/2018 09:54

Justine Greening, the former equalities minister who drove the sex-change reforms, admitted for the first time last night that the concerns of women’s groups must be taken more into account.

She told The Sunday Times she still supported change, but stressed that the government should be “absolutely listening to the voices of women’s groups in all this and their concerns”.
